PATRICIA.
Why would this be happening to me right now? My life is messed up. I said as tears trickled down my face.
“What's up girl?” Lila asked inquisitively, as she came face to face with me.
I received the shocking news that my Dad was involved in a ghastly motor accident, and that he was rushed to the hospital. Why me? I answered.
“Everything will be fine dear. You just need to pray and hope in God.” Lila advised, taking me by hand to sit on the cushion.
“What will I do now?” I asked sniffling. My Dad's company is crumbling and has no money because they are in debt. Where will I get money from to take care of his bills?”
“You need to go to the hospital to see your Dad first before you talk about bills.” Lila admonished, holding my shoulders.
“But you know that money for his medications will be needed?” I asked, cleaning my teary face with the hem of my clothes.
“I know dear, but first thing first. You need to see your Dad, and then know how he is doing. You really need to spend some time with him too.”
“This is not the time for shedding tears. You need to be strong for him.” Lila said.
“Alright, I will be on my way.” I said.
“Hold on, I'm coming with you.” Lila said as she told up to get her purse from her room.
I thought of how life would be. My Dad will be needing some rest as soon as he is discharged from the hospital, and I will be left to fend for us.
Sometimes, the way you plan your life, is not the way it would come out at the end. Unforeseen circumstances would tend to spoil it.
My friend's voice cut me off from my thoughts, “Let's get going girl. Stop crying, okay, everything will be fine.”
I was lost in thought, and didn't know when my phone started to ring.
Ding Ding….
“Patricia can't you hear your phone ringing? Pick the damn call.” Lila admonished as we stepped out so she could lock her door.
“I'm not in a good mood right now to pick any call till I'm sure that my Dad is okay.” I said.
“Someone might be calling you to lend some help to you. Can't you see that. Just take a look at the screen to know who the caller is. Lila blurted.

We met the receptionist at the front desk when we got to the hospital, “Good day miss. We are here to say Mr Macaulay, the man who got admitted today.” I snapped.
“Good day to you too. Give me a minute.” The lady at the desk said, as she brought a long note. She scrolled the pages of a book with her pen in search of heaven knows what.
“Alright, check Room 305.” She said
“Thank you.” I thanked her, and went to the said room.
Getting to the room, I couldn't recognise my father. The accident dealt with him, leaving him in the worst conditions. Life is so unfair for real.
He was sleeping and I didn't want to disturb him. Lila, seeing that I was about to tear up, patted my shoulders, “All will be well my friend.”
I nodded my head in the hope that everything was going to be alright. I sat down beside my Dad, taking his hands into mine. I bent down to kiss them.
As I was about to stand from where I was sitting to go and plant a kiss on my Dad's forehead, I heard my name.
“My child, you are here.” He said barely above a whisper. I took in my Fad in a tight embrace. Our clothes were soaked with the tears pouring down from our wet eyes.
“Dad, I'm so sorry about the accident. I got a call that you were rushed to the hospital, and I came running over here to see you.” I said
“It's fine my child. So have you gotten the bills from the doctor?” Mr Macaulay asked, curiorisity written all over his face.
“I haven't seen the doctor yet, not to talk of asking him for the bills.” I answered.
“Well, he said I will be operated on.” My Dad said. Immediately he said that, I noticed that my father's legs were covered in bandages.
“Where are we going to get that huge amount of money from? By the way, we ain't financially stable right now. I said with a lot of concern in my voice.
“The only option available is to sell the house.” My father blurted with a hardened expression on his face.
“What do you mean?” I asked.
“You heard me right child.” He replied
“So after selling the house, where are we gonna stay huh?” I asked, not liking the idea.
“I don't really know for now. My health is important to me right now, and it should be the same for you.”. My Dad snapped.
“I will go see the doctor, and enquire about the amount that we are to pay. At least we will know where to start from.” I said hesitantly.

“Doctor, how much are our bills?” I asked hoping he wouldn't call the amount that would surpass me.
“Your Father's bill is forty thousand dollars.” The doctor stated, looking up to me with his glasses at the ridge of his nose.
“Sir, the bills are much. Can you please reduce it for the sake of my ailing father?” I pleaded with him.
“Hello ma'am, this hospital is not a charity organisation. We offer top notch services, and if you don't mind, you can as well take your father elsewhere.” The doctor said, without batting an eyelid.
“What will I do now?” I thought to myself as I exited the Doctor's office.
Entering inside my Dad's wards I saw two men standing beside him. I clutched to Lila who stayed behind when I went to see the doctor.
“Who are these men and why are they here? Do you have any idea?” I asked Lila, my stern face on the men. I just hope it's not what I'm thinking.
Ignatius.I was just sitting down on my swivel chair staring into space when Clara came in. I wasn't expecting her in my office at that moment and had no idea that she was gonna come by. She was putting on a seductive dress and I wasn't turned on. Who was she trying to seduce in that dress of hers. Definitely not me because I'm not gonna buy that.My mind was in something else. She saw the expression on my face and knew that all wasn't well with me. She lifted my chin and looked into my eyes for a very long time before asking me what the problem was. I didn't want to indulge her in my family affairs. Well she was already a family by virtue of been there for me through thick and thin especially when I needed her the most. She lowered her lips on mine and kissed me so passionately. It relieved me from whatever mental stress that was trying to take my sanity away.I resolved within me to teach Patricia a serious lesson so that in her next life she would behave herself and pay attentio
Patricia. How would someone be polluting the air like it's no man business. It's so bad especially when you are not considering other people's health. The Elevator lifted us and stopped us at the last floor. I was really gasping for fresh air. I hurriedly came out from the elevator.I looked up at each door in search of Ignatius' name which was meant to be scribbled at the front door or probably the title CEO.I saw various departments and their names being scribbled which made it easy for anyone to look for a person to find them.I moved further and saw a glassy frame. It was so big and wide. I saw someone coming out from the next and I asked him if he works there. He replied in the affirmative and I asked him to show me the CEO's office. He pointed at the office opposite me and I thanked him immensely.I opened the door to the office and I couldn't believe what I saw. Can you imagine, in an office for that matter. Hmmm..A lady was sitting on top of Ignatius. She was moving up and
Patricia.I entered one of Ignatius’ cars and motioned the gatekeeper to open the gate while I drove out.You all will be wondering how I got his car keys since I don't know anywhere around here. Yay.. I searched all his wardrobe and lucky for me I found his car keys. I couldn't afford to enter a cab for security reasons you know.I selected the key that caught my fancy and I hurried down to check which car it was meant for and found it at last.Anyways I was driving to meet my beloved husband at the company. Before leaving the house, I had called my Dad to ask him for the name of my husband's company. He was literally shocked that I don't where my husband works. He was so excited hearing my voice after a long period of time.I narrated to him everything that happened and how I was released. He praised the name of the Almighty. He wasn't sounding like someone who misses his daughter nor worried about my safety. What does he know?To him, I'm safe wherever I am because I'm married t
Patricia.I entered the house and I was welcomed by the maids. They lined up just to greet me. I have never seen a thing like this before. Is this what being wealthy entails?“Good day ma'am.” They greeted each other in unison.“Good day to you all.” I replied. “How have you guys been?”“We've been good ma'am.”One of the maids came forward to air her view, “but we were all moody at the same time.”“Is that so?” I felt my cheeks blushing. I was literally enjoying their company. These people are so lively. But I didn't see this part of them when I came in on the first day nor after the wedding.“Yes ma'am.” They echoed.I felt like tearing up. Having people who care about you was such a big flex. It's gonna be fun living in this mansion after all.“Awww…. Can you all stop?” I pouted. “You guys are making me emotional right now.”“You deserve the best ma'am.” One of the maids admitted.I was surprised at the outburst. “Why do I deserve the best? I haven't even spent time with you guys.”
Clara.I drove out of the mansion with one of Ignatius' cars. I sighted a lady walking down towards my direction. The only building that was in this location is Ignatius mansion.“Where could she be going?” I reasoned. Probably she must have lost her way. None of my business either. As she walked closer, her view became clear. She was so beautiful. I mean beauty is an understatement. I guess she really knows where she is going.I stopped my car in the middle of the road and came down from it. I walked majestically as the queen that I am so as to probe in some questions. If she is one of Ignatius slut, I will have to let her know on time that I'm in charge and if she knows what is good for her, she should better turn back.“Hey, it seems you missed your way.” I queried, flapping my eyelids.“Do you have any problem with that?” She thundered.“As you can see, that mansion over there is the only building around this vicinity and I'm left wondering if you are sure of where you are headed t
Clara. The old woman of a thing or whatever she calls herself stood speechless looking at me. She couldn't utter a word. She quietly bent down to pack her stuff into her luggage. So she actually came to live with him. This is incredible.I stood at the door waiting for her but it seemed she was taking her time. Does she think I have all the time in the world? My stomach rumbled loudly, a sign that it craved for food. I had to endure till I'm sure this woman is no longer staying here or her belongings loitering about.“Better be fast about whatever you are doing and get your tacky wacky self out of here.” Her fists clenched and she glared at me.“Do I look like I care?” I knew she wouldn't try anything stupid as long as she was in this house. Even if she is outside and sees me, she can't do more than a dead chicken. I would personally make sure of that. Her eyeballs were rolling up and down as though she was assessing me and afterwards rolled left, right and center.I brought out the b
