SIXTY ONE

The cabin door closed behind them and Jane stiffened at the sudden darkness that descended upon the room. A look at the balcony door told her that it was closed and the curtains were drawn shut.

“My, my, “ Roxanne tsked, circling Jane slowly like a hawk closing in on its prey. “I thought after all the drama, you’d at least have the decency to stay away from Daniel.”

Maybe I should throw up on her, Jane thought. “I did not steal from Daniel. You were the one feeding him all the bullshit.”

Roxanne’s tattoed brows lifted in mockery but she did not reply. She left Jane standing in the middle of the room and flipped on the light switch.
