Reopening Closed Wound

Slowly, Ciara walked to the door and opened it. She stood at the door entrance to ensure that Walters didn't force himself inside the house. 

"You look stunning tonight. What the heck am I saying? You always look stunning. But tonight, it's different." They were the first words of Walters, immediately he saw Ciara. 

He couldn't get his eyes off her as though that were the first time meeting each other. 

The plan was to flatter Ciara and make her fall for Walters again. Sadly, it wasn't working. Ciara already knew what his intentions were. 

"What do you want?" She shunned his flattering words and went straight to the point. She can't deny the fact that Walters himself looks good. Due to what's at stake, she couldn't admit it. 

"I just want us to talk. 

Can I at least come inside let's have a decent conversation?" Walters begged.

 He sounded sorrowful like the biblical prodigal son who showed up to his father's house after wasting his inheritance. 

"You want us to talk?" She giggled and clapped her hands. Although, her laughter came from a place of pain. 

The sight of Walters irritates her so much that she feels like emptying a bucket of acid on his head. 

"What do you want to talk about? For what I know, there's nothing to talk about. I don't wanna ever set my eyes on you ever again. You are my past, and you should remain that way," Ciara cried her eyes out and slammed the door against Walters. She didn't give him a chance to speak to explain himself better. 

She fell on the couch, crying her sorrows away. The pain was deeper than when she lost her mother. 

Despite the rejection, Walters was resilient and reluctant to leave. He stood there, knocking on the door and pleading for Ciara to open up. 

A part of Ciara is desperate to let Walters in. But she asked those parts to behave themselves and reminded them how Walters called off their relationship some few weeks ago. 

While seated on the couch, Ciara thought about the good memories she shared with Walters in the past.

 At some point in her life, Walters exhibited some traits that made Ciara Believe that she wants to spend the rest of her life with him. 

Suddenly, Walters changed when he found out that Ciara had been arranged to be married to Dexter.

That was the moment he decided to give up everything he once shared with Ciara. 

Knowing who the cooper was in the society and how influential they were, Walters knew he stood no chance. The only thought on his mind was to give up on everything before the coopers came for his life. 

Not even the assurance from Ciara was enough to allay his fears. Suddenly, he is back without even bothered if Ciara eventually agreed to marry Dexter 

"I don't care if you accept to marry that rich kid. I am here to take back what is mine," Walters vowed from outside. 

This assurance from Walters forced Ciara on her feet. She tossed off the couch to go open the door. 

"What did you just say?" She asked Walters while panting heavily. 

"Exactly what you heard, my Lady," Walters said as he went on his knees and presented the flower bouquet to Ciara 

"Get up and answer the damn question. I don't give a fuck about your flower bouquet. I just want to confirm if I'm beginning to hear things that aren't real," Ciara demanded. 

With shame hoarding his face, Walters stood up with the flower bouquet. He tried getting closer to Ciara, but she was reluctant to see that happen. She edged backwards as though he fell in a pit of feces 

Walters felt insulted. 

He lost count how many times that Ciara has humiliated him. Still, he didn't allow any of that to get into his head. 

"I said I don't mind you getting married to that rich kid. I am ready to do all it takes to have you back," Walters repeated his utterances without mincing words. 

"Damn! 

This is outrageous," she muttered in disbelief. Nothing ever made sense to her. First, she forced herself to believe that Walters was out of her life for good. Suddenly, he is back to open the can of worms. 

"I can't believe you decided to show up after so many weeks. Why didn't you reach out to me? Why does it have to be now? I still don't get it," Ciara cried. She placed her hands on the door to think about everything going on in her life. 

While she thought of the next action, she felt a tap on her shoulder. It was soft and tender.

She knew it was Walters. She wanted to pull his hand away, but the strength was missing. At that point, she couldn't even speak to save her life. 

Despite her resentment towards Walters, there is a part of her that still wants to give him a second chance. 

Apparently, he was the only man in her life that loved and treated her with respect. Lately, her Father is spending more time with George in the hospital than anyone else. More like, he totally forgot that he has a daughter. 

And Dexter? He's totally out of the equation. She doesn't see herself having a future with him. 

The few hours she has known Dexter was enough reason for Ciara to believe that he's going to make her life miserable should they end up as couples. 

Reaching out for her hair, Walters perceived it and said to himself. "This smells nice. Oh, how I have missed you so badly," 

He drew her closer and kissed her forehead. He hugged her so passionately, to the point where she couldn't resist him. 

"Please stop!" She told Walters and went inside the house, leaving the door opened. 

What an opportunity for Walters.

He smiled and followed her inside. 

He was rest assured that she wasn't going to resist him this time, courtesy of his sugar-coating words. 

He successfully penetrated her heart, which once proved to be difficult.
