Dominic’s pov:

I stood at the head of the table, my gaze was sharp as I scanned the faces around me.

Every single person here had been working tirelessly, pushing boundaries, chasing dead ends, fighting against time.

But now, the game was changing.

I exhaled slowly, rolling my shoulders back before speaking.

"We’re holding a press conference."

The reaction was instant.

Stella blinked. Desmond raised an eyebrow. Ford sat up straighter, arms crossing.

"A press conference?" Desmond echoed. "With all the news outlets?"

I nodded. "Every single one. Local, national, international. I want the entire world looking at Linda."

Ford exhaled sharply, considering my plan. "You’re turning her into a target."

I met his gaze. "She already is. We’re just making sure she knows it."

Silence stretched across the room, the tension was crackling.

Stella leaned forward. "If we do this, we control the narrative. We make sure no one stops looking for her."

I nodded. "Exactly. The more pressure, the less room

Dominic’s pov: The soft rustling of fabric pulled me from sleep. At first, I ignored it, I tried to dismiss the noise as part of the dream, my mind still heavy with exhaustion. Then there was a sharper movement.Something shifted in the room.I exhaled, blinking against the faint morning light, someone was going through my wardrobe.I pushed myself up slightly, my gaze narrowing, my pulse steady. And then, I saw her.My mother.Calm. Effortless. As if rummaging through my closet was the most natural thing in the world.I sighed, rubbing a hand over my face."Are you stealing my suits, Mother?"She glanced over her shoulder, the faintest smirk playing at her lips."You don’t wear half of these."I huffed, sitting up fully. "That doesn’t mean you get to rearrange them."She ignored me, pulling out a neatly folded shirt, and examining it like she was judging my entire taste in fashion. Then—she spoke, casual but knowing."You barely slept."I sighed again. "Not really."She placed the s

Linda’s pov:Suzanne was silent when we walked back in.Tavon leaned against the wall, arms crossed, studying her like she was a puzzle waiting to break.I watched too, waiting.Waiting for the moment her walls cracked. The moment she realized that Dominic wasn’t coming for her.Tavon exhaled sharply, shaking his head. "She’s stubborn."I smirked, tilting my head. "Oh, I know."Suzanne lifted her chin slightly, meeting my gaze with disgust, but no fear. That irritated me.She should be terrified. She should be falling apart by now.Tavon sighed. "I’ll be back. Let me know if she finally decides to cooperate."Then he was gone.I turned back to Suzanne, reaching for the tray on the table beside me.A simple meal.Bread. Water. A few pieces of fruit.I lifted the plate, stepping toward her. "Eat."She didn’t move. Didn’t blink.I sighed, setting it on the table in front of her. "It is not poisoned if that’s what you’re thinking."Still, nothing.I let out a soft chuckle. "You really ar

Dominic’s pov:She stood there like an undeniable force. My mother.I blinked, my mind struggling to process the sight of her standing in my security office as if she had been there all along."Mother?" My voice was sharper than intended. "What are you doing here? How did you even—"She lifted a manicured hand, cutting me off with the slightest tilt of her head."I miss you too, Dominic."The casual, elegant way she said it made me feel like a boy again. Not the man who built an empire, or the man currently trying to track down the woman he couldn’t afford to lose. Before I could reply, she turned to the room, her voice calm yet commanding."Leave us."No hesitation, no one questioning.Every single person obeyed.Even Desmond exchanged a glance with me before silently walking out, shutting the door behind him.The room was now just the two of us.I exhaled sharply, crossing my arms. "Mother, what are you doing here?"She took her time, studying me carefully. Then, she sighed."Fiona

Suzanne’s pov:I inhaled slowly, I tried to keep my expression blank even as the panic clawed at my chest.Linda leaned against a metal table, she crossed her arms like she owned the place, looking far too pleased with herself. Then came in, looking as smug as ever, “how did I ever settle for this psychopath” I asked, myself. He started circling me, his steps slow and controlled, like he was savoring this moment."Not going to scream?" His voice dripped with amusement. "That’s disappointing."I met his gaze, refusing to flinch. "I don’t scream for pathetic men."Linda chuckled. "Ooh, she has a bite."Tavon’s smirk didn’t falter. "Let’s see how long that lasts."I clenched my fists, trying to test the restraints again. It was too tight. There was no room for movement. But I wasn’t going to give them the satisfaction of looking afraid. They wanted me weak and they wouldn’t get that.Linda stepped forward, tilting her head. "I have to admit, Suzanne, you always had that irritating litt

  • Married To My Ex-Husband’s Rival   Chapter 120: “Don’t leave me”

Suzanne’s pov:I woke up that morning to Dominic’s hand around me, wrapped under the duvet, naked.I blinked twice, shaking off sleep from my body before lifting his hand away from me like he was a parasite.I slowly snuggled out of the bed, wondering how he got into my room in the first place, I mean I always locked my room, so how did it happen?I tiptoed to the bathroom and brushed my teeth then I took a shower and just like I prayed, he slept all through. Even though I wanted to shout him out of bed, I couldn't afford to wake him up.He looked exhausted, I didn't want to ruin his rest so I got dressed and took off.***After sending Kai off to school I went into the garden and got into the blue swing chair with two space seats.I was reading a book. Trying to take my mind off the heartache I was feeling.“Please don't be mad” I heard his voice from behind. Turning around I questioned. “Mad about what?” Knowing that was Dominic's voice but choosing to know why. “The fact that I s
