Suzanne’s pov:

The rhythmic beeping of the machines reminded me I was still in the hospital.

Why do I have a lot of machines when I feel okay, I thought? I blinked slowly, stretching just enough to shake off the stiffness in my muscles.

Then I felt movement. Across the room, Dominic was there.

While sleeping, I could not remember the events of the previous night; I did not even hear him come in last night.

He had slumped onto the couch, one arm over his eyes, as if blocking out everything else. Even now, he looked tense, like rest didn’t come naturally to him.

I watched him for a moment, something twisting in my chest.

Then yesterday’s conversation with Racheal surfaced.

Her words echoed in my mind.

"Dominic has changed. You made him change."

I swallowed hard, letting the memories hit all at once.

I remember how it all started.

The contract marriage.

The deal felt so cold and calculated, It was as if impossible to turn it into something real.

Yet here we were.

He had stayed.

  • Married To My Ex-Husband’s Rival   Chapter 143: “Welcome Home Suzanne”

Dominic’s pov:Desmond stood by the mirror, buttoning his cufflinks with the efficiency of a man who never let emotion delay a tailored suit.Meanwhile, I was on my knees in front of Kai, trying to wrestle a bow tie around a very uncooperative five-year-old who had no intention of keeping still.“Kai,” I said, trying not to laugh, “hold still or I’ll wrap this thing around your forehead and call it fashion.”He grinned up at me, then tilted his chin with exaggerated seriousness.“Do I look like a CEO’s son?”Desmond chuckled without looking up. “You look like a CEO who’s about to fire someone for not bringing gummy bears to the meeting.”Kai gasped. “That’s a real reason to fire someone, Uncle Dez.”I finally straightened his collar and stood, smoothing down his blazer. He looked sharp. Miniature, but sharp. Then he asked, casually, like he hadn’t been holding the question in his chest all-day— “Is Grandma coming?”I paused for just a second, then smiled.“Of course she is.”His whol

Suzanne’s pov:The conference room smelled like fresh flowers and overpriced candles. There were charts taped to the glass walls, colour palettes scattered across the table, silverware samples, menu cards, and a PowerPoint presentation open on the big screen. Yes, a whole ass presentation. At the centre of the storm?Rachael was In full event general mode.Stella lounged on one side of the table flipping through photos of floral centrepieces, casually sipping from a champagne flute like this was a bridal launch party and not a last-minute family dinner.I sat at the head of the table, barefoot, hair in a messy bun, eyeing the madness unfolding before me with something between awe and disbelief."I thought this was supposed to be a small family dinner," I muttered, blinking at a three-tiered cake sketch that definitely wasn’t part of the original plan. "I’m tired."Rachael didn’t even look up. "Darling, it is a family dinner."She clicked through to the next slide in her presentation:

Suzanne’s pov:I had barely settled in, still letting the warmth of the welcome home surprise sink in, when Kai came bursting into the room like a little firecracker."Mom! Aunty Stella! Come quick! You have to see what Grandma got me!"He tugged at my hand with both of his m Loy eyes wide with excitement, practically vibrating with joy.Stella laughed, already rising to her feet. "Okay, okay, lead the way, Captain Kai!"I smiled, letting him pull me through the hallway, his tiny feet racing ahead. The moment we stepped into his room, my jaw dropped slightly. It was packed.Shelves lined with toys still in their glossy packaging. A miniature car. A rocket ship that actually made sounds. Plushies, board games, puzzles, gadgets I didn’t even recognize.I turned slowly, overwhelmed. "Wow… she really went all out."Kai grinned like he owned the entire world. "She said I deserved everything, Mommy." I haven’t even shown you the flying dragon one!"His room was a wonderland.Toys lined eve

Dominic’s pov:I stood with my arms crossed, my jaw tight as I watched the doctor review the test results.Every second felt heavier, like the weight of everything was pressing harder against my chest.Suzanne sat beside me, calmer than I was, her hands resting gently on her stomach like she already knew everything was fine.I wished I had that certainty. The doctor glanced up, offering a small nod. "The tests are all clear. Suzanne and the baby are healthy."Relief hit me fast, but I didn’t exhale yet. Then he turned the monitor toward us."We also did a scan. Would you like to see it?"Suzanne smiled softly, nodding.I stiffened, I wasn’t sure I was ready, Then the screen lit up.And there it was.Tiny, Fragile, Ours.Something in my chest tightened, an unfamiliar wave of emotion rushing through me.I blinked, swallowing hard, barely hearing Suzanne’s soft laughter beside me."Dominic, are you tearing up again?"I scoffed, shaking my head slightly, and forcing a smirk. "You’re imagi

  • Married To My Ex-Husband’s Rival   Chapter 138: One Mutual Ground, Love

Suzanne’s pov:Racheal sat beside me, her fingers fidgeting slightly—something I had never seen her do before. She was always composed. Always confident. Always the woman who walked into a room and owned it with grace. But right now?She looked… guilty.A strange vulnerability clung to her like a thin veil, translucent but impossible to miss. She sighed deeply, then met my gaze with eyes that shimmered with hesitation.“Suzanne, I need to say something.”I tilted my head slightly, curious but cautious.“Okay.”She exhaled again—longer this time.“I’m sorry. About everything. The contract marriage, the way it all started... the way we used you.”I blinked, surprised by her sudden apology. It wasn’t something I had expected—not from Racheal. But then, I smiled softly, even if a little sadly.“It’s fine, Racheal. If none of that happened, I wouldn’t be here. And… honestly? I don’t regret it.”She studied me carefully, her eyes narrowing ever so slightly as if trying to gauge if I really
