Brittany didn't say a word until we got to where my car was parked. I was already beginning to think that she was ignoring me on purpose. Especially after her reaction to my visit in her mother's presence, I was sure she had a lot to say than keeping quiet.

For that brief moment she gazed at me back there, her eyes emphasized so much rage as they glared at me with hostility. Finally, she turned to me, making me halt in my steps immediately.
