He's in a coma

"Um, he's fine. He's out of danger for now, but..." he hesitated. Whatever information he wanted to disclose to her was very critical. He knew, people react to critical information differently. Some would cry it out, others would take it calmly and others would remain quiet. They would not cry, they would not talk or say anything. This party was the most affected. They could result to committing suicide.

Apart from being a doctor, he was also a psychologist and he knew so much about psychology, and studying people's minds to know their reactions. He needed to calm her, first, before he could disclose to her whatever was going on with her brother.

"First, you need to stay calm. Breath in and then out," he said as he gestured to her, while he inhaled and exhaled too.

"Okay, I'm calm," she said as she followed his lead and breathed in and out to steady her breath. "What's going on with Hayden! Please doctor, just tell me! Tell me he's going to be fine!" she pleaded, tears welling up her eyes.

"He's fine but...but he's in a coma," he disclosed. "And we are not sure when he'll wake up. He hurt his head badly and lost so much blood," he explained. Aviana almost lost consciousness when he said those words. She couldn't be fooled. She knew perfectly well, what he meant when he said, he was in a coma. He might not wake up any time soon. She had watched these kind of things, in real life. She knew the possibility of him waking up was fifty/fifty. Ethan sensed she had become weak. He moved to hold her firmly.

"But, the good news is that he's out of danger. I assure you, we'll do everything we can," the doctor stressed the last words as an assurance to not only Aviana but also to Ethan. Apart from being their family doctor, he and Ethan were good friends since childhood. They did everything together, played together. In fact, they did everything that young people often did, together.

Even when Ethan lost his mother, James stood by him. Their relationship was so good that people began to doubt their sexuality, whether they were gay or not. Until now, they remain to be good friends. Whenever one is faced with trouble, they often approach each other. That was the extend of their friendship. They treat each other like brothers.

Aviana sighed, on hearing his assurance. She was relieved to know, Hayden's life wasn't in danger anymore. Even though he lay on the hospital bed, unconscious, atleast there was still hope. He wasn't dead. He was only in a coma. So, one day, he would wake up. The doctor's assurance gave her hope, once again.

"Can I see him!" she requested. She couldn't wait even for a second to see him. It had been three hours since they brought him here, obviously, she missed him so much.

"Yes, you can," replied James. "Walk straight down the hall, you'll find two path ways, take your left. It's room 4..." Before he could say the room number, the little woman's dress was on the air. She had run. In fact, she didn't hear anything the doctor said. Standing there, listening to the doctor's directions felt like forever.

Their lower Jaws dropped. They were thunderstruck surprised. Staring at the woman running as fast as if she were being chased, Ethan laughed. James heard him laugh. He glanced at him, his mouth slightly opened, his eyes almost poping out of their sockets. Ethan, was a cold-hearted business man, it was rare to see him smile not to talk of hearing his laughter. James was more than surprised. What happened to him? he thought. But it was a good thing though.

"Ahem," Ethan cleared his throat before uttering in his usual cold voice. "The little boy is in your hands, now. Take good care of him. If you need anything, don't hesitate to call me."

"Don't worry, the boy is in good hands. We will do everything we can." he assured.

"I trust you, James. And I'm not saying this to you, as a doctor, but as my friend," he told him. "See you," he spoke the last words and he walked out of the hospital and headed towards his SUV that had been waiting outside. He was supposed to have gone to the office to attend a meeting, but the accident happened.

"Did you postpone the meeting?" he asked as soon as he sat at the back seat of the car.

"Yes, I did. I scheduled the meeting for next week, sir," said Devin as he handed over to his boss, a document which contained detailed information about the meeting.

"Okay, drive to the villa," he said drily before taking the document. He read through the document randomly and placed it on the empty sit beside him. Devin started the engine before driving out of the hospital premises.

"I want you to ensure that the young lady and the little boy at the hospital, are well taken care of! Whatever they need, get it for them! Understood!" he ordered, when they had left the hospital, heading to the mansion.

"Yes, sir. I understand," replied Devin. He opened his mouth to speak again, but closed it afterwards. It seemed he had something to say to his boss, but he didn't know where to start.

"S...sir...what about your father? Shouldn't we tell him what happened today?" he conveyed his worry.

"No," Ethan roared. "Nobody should tell him anything," he added.

"Even if we don't tell him, he'll still find out. And, you might get into trouble," said Devin. It was obvious, he was concerned for his boss.

"Leave that to me! I can handle my own personal issues! Do what you're asked to do and mind your own business," his angry voice roared behind the car, shutting him off. One thing about Ethan, he didn't like people meddling in his personal affairs. This would often provoke him.

Devin silenced his mouth. They drove through the rest of the journey in an awkward silence.

The car screeched to a halt in front of Weybridge villa. The lights inside and outside the villa were automatically turned on, lighting up the entire luxurious mansion. Ethan exited the car and walked into the mansion. Inside the sitting room, there was a large L-shape sofa set Grey in color and a large rectangular-shaped glass table in the middle of the spacious sitting room. Stuart Hughes Prestige HD Supreme Edition, TV set, which was worth $1.5 million, stood magnificently on the wall.
