SOPHIA CASTILLOThe person who called my name is a high school classmate of mine. His name is Maxwell."Sophia," he called again, walking closer to our table."Max," I called back."Wow, it's been a long Sophia," he said to me before turning his attention to Albert and Adrian."Hello sir," he said to the both of them."Hello to you young man," Albert replied but Adrian said nothing. His face was rigid as he stared at Max."I'm good and you?" I asked him, sincerely interested to know because the last time I heard about him, I heard he got in an accident. "I've been fine. I just came back from London yesterday and will be around for like five days before going back," he tells me."London? You go to school there or you relocated, which is it?" I asked him genuinely interested."I relocated after my accident. I came for my cousin's birthday," he pointed at a young man seated far across our table."I see. Happy birthday to him in advance," I said.My eyes darted at Adrian."Max, meet my
SOPHIA CASTILLOI took care of Adrian all through the day when he refused to call the doctor. I had to get warm water and a towel later to help reduce his fever. In no time, he was able to sleep peacefully.I fell asleep with my head on the bed while I sat down on the floor.By the time I woke up, Adrian was awake and he was staring at me with a questioning look on his face."You took care of me?" He asked and I nodded my head before yawning with my arms stretched out."Are you still feeling sick? If so I'd call a doctor for you. I didn't call any because of your request not to," I told him getting up from where I sat."Who asked you to take care of me?" He asked in a cold tone and I felt my stomach sink."You were shivering and so I thought it would be the right thing to do," I told him."Right thing to..." He sneezed."Are you okay?" I hurried to check his temperature. "I checked your temperature last night and your fever was gone so..." I attempted to place my hand on his forehead
SOPHIA CASTILLOI went into the room to get some clothes so I could change into them. When I got into the room, I aimed to go to the dressing room and get my clothes but I saw Adrian shivering and I couldn't help but feel for him.I do not understand why he has refused to see the doctor or why he has been acting tough. I mentally contemplated with myself if I should go take a look at him or not. I felt my heart clench when I decided to walk away and do what it was I has come to do.I guess I couldn't be heartless even if I wanted to. I walked toward him and touch his forehead to feel his temperature."Ouch!" I muttered, feeling the hotness of his body on my palm."His temperature is high again," I mumbled to myself. I was tempted to get a doctor for him but I do not know how he'd react if I did and so I decided to do what it was I did for him yesterday and see if his temperature comes down. If it doesn't, I would call the doctor.I sat beside Adrian after I finished tending to him.
ADRIAN CASTILLOMr. Brian, a close client of mine disclosed that Seth Cox is going to every place he could to get help so that he would pay back the investors and save his company.Mr. Brian told me that Seth Cox only cares about being wealthy but he doesn't want to take the necessary process to be wealthy. Some days later the news came out and the investors threatened to arrest and throw his family in jail if he doesn't give them back their money. He came to my grandfather and my grandfather saw that as a perfect opportunity to get one of his daughters as my bride. When I heard the news that day I was very furious.***"What do you mean Grandfather? I cannot marry her. How can you suggest I marry someone whose reputation is questionable?" I said to my grandfather in anger. The good thing about me was that when I was angry, I never raised my voice. I was trained that way. Even in the toughest situation, I knew just how to manage the situation and keep myself composed."You do not kno
ADRIAN CASTILLO"Fuck!" I cursed.I do not know what to do at this point. Those eyes of Sophia haunted me and I wanted to give in to her and let her see her parents.I have never been one to go back on my words but for some reason, I wanted to give in and let her go see them."Maybe it is because she watches you and took care of you," I muttered to myself. That was why I didn't want her coming close to me. From the first day, I saw her, I knew she was going to be a different kind of human being and the type that I wouldn't like. She cried too much and looked at me as if she was innocent when she wasn't."Fuck!" I cursed.I inserted the key into my car and drove off. I needed to leave this vicinity for my mental health. I need to stay away just like I did before because I couldn't stand her.She had some kind of strange effect on me that I could not comprehend and I hated it because I have never found anything too hard to handle before. SOPHIA CASTILLOI woke up to my neck aching fro
SOPHIA CASTILLOMy heart pounded in my chest as I looked around for a towel to wrap around myself. After wrapping a towel around myself, I exhaled before folding my arms around my chest.Adrian was still standing at the door, staring at me with a blank facial expression.Could I blame him for not looking away or not apologizing for coming in without knocking or asking for my permission? I was so pissed at him but at the same time, I knew I couldn't be pissed. He is my husband but that doesn't give him the right to barge into the room without knocking."What do you want?" I asked.I watch as he swallowed the lump in his throat while rubbing the back of his neck.Did I just see Adrian nervous? I thought to myself but before I could decipher it was all gone. Adrian cleared his throat. "I came to ask you if you saw any files on the nightstand two nights ago?" He asked."Some files? Yes. I did take them from the nightstand. I kept them for you," I told him and he nodded his head."Where ar
SOPHIA CASTILLOI felt my mouth dry from the heat that oozed around me. I was mentally fighting with myself to push him and end the tension between us but I couldn't do anything. It felt as if I were craving his touch and his hold on me felt like what I needed the most. "Tell me, Sophia, that you do not like what is happening between us right now. Tell me that you are not glad you are slowly succeeding to get me this close. Isn't that what you have always wanted? Aren't you happy you are getting it now? So when you finally get me on your webs, what next?" He asked and that was all I needed to snap out of it.I knew it was going to come to this. All he was doing was stirring my feelings so he could use that as confirmation that my family and I were planning something about him.I pushed him away from him. "Do no. Come any closer to me," I warned as tears blurred my eyes. Why are you always crying, Sophia! I scolded myself mentally. "And there she goes again, those tears of hers are t
SOPHIA CASTILLOI thought I must have heard Adrian wrong. I got up from the bed perplexed. I must have heard him wrong, I said to myself.Adrian had refused me to see my parents and he made it clear that he would never let me go see them as he suspected we were after him and his company but that same man had told me to go see them whenever I wanted and I should tell the drivers too.I dashed out of the room to go look for him so that I could confirm if what I heard was right or if I was not hearing properly.I was able to catch Adrian just before he drove off. I tapped on the car window for him to wound down.He did. "What is it?" He asked."Are you serious about me going to see my parents? Are you joking about it or you are serious?" I asked him panting."If you have hearing problems, you should go see the doctor but if not, then ask yourself if you heard me well or if I wasn't too loud enough for you to hear," he replied. He wound back the car window and drove off. Adrian said I co
