CHRISTOPHER
I stood in front of the mirror in my room as I fixed my tie. If someone told me six months ago that I would be getting married today, I would have gotten that person arrested for giving false information. I can't believe I am going to get married today but it is all for the best.
Liam claims she is prettier than Bianca but I am not really sure she is. She is okay though. I had selected her out of so many girls after all. I know she is going to ask me why I had agreed to marry her out of all the ladies out there sooner or later and I would give her my sincere answer. It is not that hard to do.
I loosened the tie on my neck and finally took it off. I will knot it properly later. I walked downstairs and I met father sitting on his favorite couch in the sitting room with a cup of juice beside him.
"Where is Mother?", I asked him and he looked up at me.
He chuckled at me before looking down at the screen of the phone in his hand.
"She is busy upstairs, looking for her favorite lip gloss which apparently, is missing", he replied with a chuckle and I took my seat on another couch.
"Ladies", Father commented and I looked up at him again.
"We had to eat first before getting dressed because she did not want to ruin her dress or make-up and here we are, still waiting for her. All because she can't find her lip gloss", father estimated before shaking his head negatively.
"You still love her anyways", I told him and he nodded with a smile.
"I do", he confirmed and I chuckled before playing with the black tie in my hand.
Mother finally arrived downstairs with makeup on but she still complained about not being able to find her lip gloss. I just ignored her as I walked towards my car. I don't want to stress myself in any way this morning.

We arrived at the bureau and father got down from the car he and mother had come here in. They had the driver drive them here while I dismissed Liam. I felt like driving myself today.
He suddenly knocked on the window of my driver's seat and I jumped in my seat in surprise.
"Come on, let's go in", he said and I sighed before putting the window down.
"I will be right behind you", I told him
"You better be", he said, pointing his index finger at me and I chuckled.
"Very funny, Dad", I said sarcastically to him and he finally walked away from my car.
I looked at the gigantic building in front of me and my palms suddenly became all sweaty. This decision that I am about to make is a very big one. I hope I do not regret it later. I just have to keep on reminding myself that it is for the best though.
Wait a minute, what if I go in there and she is not there? I mean the way she looked at me when I said I really wanted the marriage wasn't really promising.
Well, I hope she is in there cause I am not repeating this whole process.
I grabbed my tie from the passenger seat and head towards the building after locking my car doors. I knotted the tie neatly on my way and I was about to get to the door when I heard someone call out my name loudly.
I know that voice. Why does father like embarrassing me so much?
I pulled the door open and the room is filled with familiar people. My racing heart calmed down when I saw her standing there, just beside father. At least, she showed up.
"I was already on my way, father", I told him with a roll of my eyes, and father groaned.
"Took you long enough", he replied and I shook my head at him.
"It is nice to see you again, aunty- and uncle as well", I said as I faced Adele's father and mother. I am not really sure what to call them.
"It is good to see you too, Christopher", Adele's mother replied and her father just gave me a handsome smile.
"Hi, I don't think we have met", I said to a pregnant lady I saw standing beside Adele's father and mother.
"I haven't met you either. I am Adele's younger sister, Veronica Elsher", she replied extending her hand toward me.
Elsher? They have different surnames and she claims to be Adele's sister.
I accepted her hand into mine for a handshake and that was when I understood what was going on. She has a marriage band on her fourth finger. She is married.
"Christopher Marvin", I replied and she smiled sweetly at me.
"It's nice to finally meet you", she said and I gave her a small smile back.
"The pleasure is all mine", I said before letting go of her hand.
I walked towards her after talking to Veronica and she watched me like a hawk as I approached her. I stopped in front of her and she kept on watching me and as usual, with an expressionless face.
"You came", I decided to break the silence first.
Adele chuckled before replying "I wanted to try it out", she said and I smiled with a nod.
"I thought as much", I told her and she pursed her lips before folding her arms on her stomach.
"You are in a suit", She suddenly commented and I looked down at my clothes like I was not aware of that before.
I looked back at her and studied her clothes before replying.
"And you are not", I joked with a smirk.
She scoffed at my words and chuckled after.
"I like you. You keep things simple", I told her and she raised an eyebrow at me.
"Your clothes, I mean. It is not too much", I told her and her face relaxed a bit.
"Oh", she commented before looking down at her clothes too.
"Thanks", she finally replied with a smile that is obviously forced.
I studied her for a while and a smile unintentionally crept onto my cheeks. She is in an off-shoulder top and her jeans are even ripped at the knees. Then, she topped it all off with white sneakers. Her long hair is pulled into a rough bun and I found myself frowning at that. The reason why? I do not know.
She has no makeup on, not even lipstick but she still looks so calm and fresh. I wonder how she does that. She just has a way of keeping things simple and elegant all the same.
She raised a brow at me with a dirty look on her face and I realized that she must have caught me checking her out.
"You-", I started but I got really thankful when the secretary spoke up. I don't know what excuse to give her anyways.
"The registrar is ready to see you now", she told us and mother giggled joyously.
"Let's go then", she said as she went towards the registrar's office with father.
I looked at Adele in front of me and she still has that questioning look on her face. I gave her a nervous smile and she rolled her eyes at me before walking towards the registrar's office.
Uh... Rude?

ADELE We walked out of the registrar's office after we were done. We took our vows to always help each other through thick and thin and we even took the picture for our wedding certificates. Well, now I want to go back home. "Wow! You are finally married, honey", Christopher's mother said and I turned to look at her. She is holding her right palm against her son's face affectionately. "I will finally get to see my grandchildren", she said again and Christopher chuckled. "Stop being dramatic, mom", he replied to her as he removed her hand from his face and held it instead. He looked at me and I let my eyes lock with his for a while before taking my eyes off him quickly. "You finally got married, sis", Veronica said to me as she stood beside me with a smile on her face. "I am happy for you", I heard mother say and I looked at her in front of me. "I am not sure if I am happy for me though", I replied with a shrug and mother looked around quickly. "Don't say that!", she hal
ADELE Christopher honked at whoever it was that was behind the gate and the gate opened immediately. He drove into the compound before parking the car under the car shed. Christopher got down before me and grabbed my suitcase from the back seat. "Come on", he called out to me before heading towards the front door of the building with my suitcase in hand. I looked up at the building in front of me and a sigh escaped my lips. This is it. I got down from the car and quickly went after Christopher. He opened the front door easily and held it open for me to pass through before going further inside. I took a step in and sighed deeply. This place is not so bad. I mean, the sitting room looks okay and it just screams wealth. Not to talk about the pool that is outside that I can see from the ceiling to the glass window that's beside the television on the right. "Come in properly, let me show you around", Christopher said to me and I looked up at him. "Fine", I replied, closing the f
CHRISTOPHER "I got married to you because of my father's company", I said to her and she furrowed her brows at me in confusion. I knew that sooner or later, I would have to talk about this with Adele. Ever since I first saw her at the dinner meeting with our parents, I knew she would be one to inquire about my reasons. I mean, what girl wouldn't? "Do you mind explaining what you mean by that?", only when she said that did I realize that she had been waiting expectantly for me to continue. "Uh, I have to be the next CEO of the company", I said again and looked up at her to see if she was still listening to me. "So? Become the CEO then. What have I got to do with that?", she asked quickly in one breath and her face tells me she is frustrated right now. "Calm down, it is not that simple", I said gently and she huffed at my words. "You are really impatient", I said with a smile and she rolled her eyes at me this time around. "Okay, so?", she asked after a while. "My Uncle Jeffrey
CHRISTOPHER I walk into my study room with my laptop in hand. I grabbed my laptop, shifting the computer on my study table to the back, so my laptop can sit properly on the table. I checked out a few reminders from work before checking the time. It's past six already. We should be having dinner by now. I shut down the laptop and was about to stand up from my seat when an image flashed in front of my eyes. The image of when Adele had held onto her suitcase and I had reached out to take the suitcase as well, only for our hands to touch. The way she had removed her hand from mine was like I was a bad allergy or something. I understand that she is getting used to this strange and sudden arrangement but the least we can do for each other and better growth is to treat each other with care and respect and not like dirt. I sighed before getting up from my seat and going out of the study room. I walked quickly to the bedroom and pushed one of the doors open. There she is, lying down at th
ADELE I stood by the sink as I washed the plates. Truth be told, I will find a way to ask Chris to make me this dish again. It was so delicious. It is like the food just melts in your mouth but with a little spiciness in it which makes it only much better. Chris asked if I liked it and I acted like I did not. I don't want to act so casually with him, so... And I have that drawing to figure out. I should try out 'his' drawing tomorrow again. I don't know why I keep forgetting how to draw his face. I finished washing the plates and as I walked out, I met Chris sitting on that middle couch that is facing the television in the sitting room. "You are here", he said when he finally looked up at me and I just stared back at him. "Do you want to sleep? Do you feel sleepy?", his questions came again and I raised a brow. "No", I finally replied and he nodded. "I thought so too. It would be weird if you said you wanted to sleep, depending on the fact that you just woke up an hour ago", Ch
ADELE Today is Sunday. My second day being a married woman. I watched Chris as he made us some toast. He said we are going to have it with tea and I shrugged at him when he said it. I am still amazed though. I mean, out of all the married women in the world. I am graced with one who won't forcefully have anything intense with his wife without her consent. He is like a gentleman. He is rare, I can say that. He is like- Daniel. My lips twitched a bit and my eyes stung when I realized that. He is just like Daniel in that part. "Are you ready to taste the best toast ever made?", Chris asked with a smile on his face, bringing me out of my thoughts. I have noticed. Christopher like being playful with me for reasons that I have no idea about. I wonder how he always managed to do it though. I mean, he can't be that comfortable with living with someone strange. Can he? I looked down at the island table as I ignored him and a plate of toast landed in front of me. 'Toast is just toast'
ADELE Time flew by so well because the next thing I knew, Christopher and I had had dinner and were already preparing for bed. "I am going to work tomorrow. Will you be okay at home alone?", I heard him ask from the couch as I tried to lay properly on the bed. Why wouldn't I be? "Yeah, I would be", I told him anyways. "I have your phone number. I will call you during lunch break tomorrow", he said again in his soft, deep voice. "Oh! So, you had my number?", I asked immediately without thinking and I heard him shuffling on the couch. I brought my head up to my head and slap myself on the forehead. Oh no! "What do you mean? Am I not supposed to have my wife's number?" I sighed before raising my upper body on the bed as I supported myself by placing my hands on the bed behind me. I looked towards the couch and apparently, Chris is sitting down on the couch as well. "I did not say that", I replied with a roll of my eyes and he frowned at me. "Why did you ask that question
CHRISTOPHER I walked into the house and it is silent, except for the faint sounds coming from the television that is on. Where is Adele? I walked further into the house and when I turned to go and switch off the television, I saw her. She is on the couch that is facing the television, the couch I always sit on. She is sleeping on her left side with her hands on each other, under her head and her face facing the television, only she is fast asleep. She is in a teal green gown and it has moved up to her mid-thigh. I looked up at her face and her brows are close to each other in a frown. I smiled at that. She is frowning even when she is asleep as well. I shook my head at her action before placing my suitcase on the table silently. I left her in bed when I left for work in the morning and now, it is her sleeping face I am still looking at when I got home. I frowned when I thought properly about it. She must have been bored. I walked forward to tap her on the arm but my hand hung
