Simon Levi Reacts

Simon Levi was in the middle of a board meeting when his phone vibrated.

He didn’t look at it immediately.

The room was glass and steel, filled with men twice his age talking numbers, mergers, timelines. Simon listened with half an ear, his expression unreadable, fingers steepled calmly on the table.

The phone vibrated again.

That annoyed him.

He glanced down.

Vivienne Carter: I just broke up with my boyfriend.

For a brief second—just one—Simon’s jaw tightened.

Then he stood.

“Gentlemen,” he said smoothly, buttoning his suit jacket, “continue without me. I’ll review the minutes.”

No one questioned him. They never did.

He walked out, straight into the private elevator, doors sliding shut behind him. Only then did he reread the message.

Once.

Twice.

A slow smile curved his lips.

“So,” he murmured, more to himself than anyone else, “you finally made a choice.”

He typed back immediately.

Simon: I was beginning to wonder how long you’d keep me waiting.

Three days later The Cross Empire office buzzed with its usual chaotic energy, but inside the executive suite, the air had turned stagnant. Damian sat behind his mahogany desk, reviewing quarterly projections, yet the numbers blurred before his eyes. His focus was entirely on the notification that had just lit up his private phone.BREAKING NEWS: The Billion-Dollar Charade.Sources confirm the Cross-Carter marriage is a sham orchestrated to save the failing Carter Group. Leaked documents reveal a $5000 million debt payoff and a strict five-year expiration date. His jaw tightened until it ached. He stared at the screen, the words blinking back at him like daggers.“Who the hell—?” he muttered under his breath, his hand gripping the edge of the desk so hard his knuckles turned white.Evelyn, standing nearby with a stack of reports, hesitated. She had never seen him look this murderous. “Sir?”“Someone leaked the contract,” Damian said, his voice low and vibrating with danger. “Someone

The glass doors of Cross Empire slid open, and a hush fell over the lobby.Usually, when Damian Cross walked into the building, the temperature seemed to drop ten degrees. Employees would scramble to look busy, straightening ties and burying their noses in files, terrified of catching the CEO’s icy glare. But today, the atmosphere was… different.Damian walked in with a stride that was less predatory and more confident, his suit jacket unbuttoned, his hand resting firmly, possessively, on the small of Aria’s back. They were murmuring to each other."Stop it," Aria whispered, a flush rising on her cheeks as they walked toward the private elevator. "Everyone is staring.""Let them stare," Damian replied, not lowering his voice. He guided her into the elevator, his thumb stroking the fabric of her blouse. "Let them see that the Ice King actually has a heart."A collective gasp seemed to ripple through the lobby as the elevator doors closed. The receptionists exchanged wide-eyed glances.

The restaurant was upscale but subdued soft piano music, clinking cutlery, muted conversations floating between tables. Vivienne sat across from Samuel, her posture perfect, her food barely touched.Samuel noticed immediately.“You’ve been quiet since we got here,” he said, folding his napkin slowly. “That’s not like you.”Vivienne didn’t respond. She lifted her glass, took a sip, then set it down with deliberate calm.Samuel studied her face. “What’s wrong?”Still nothing. His jaw tightened slightly. “Is this about Aria again?” he pressed. “What did she do this time?”That did it.Vivienne finally looked up, her eyes sharp, annoyed. “Samuel,” she said coolly, “we came here to eat, right?”He nodded, confused. “Yeah…”“Then why are you interrogating me like this?” she snapped. “Can’t we just have one normal lunch without you digging for drama?”Samuel leaned back, unconvinced. “Because I care,” he said firmly. “And because you’ve been distant. You don’t text back. You don’t return my

"Why are you smiling?" Damian asked, his voice low as he leaned against the doorframe, watching her.Aria looked up, caught off guard. She shrugged, trying to keep her tone light. "Well, considering you were ice cold towards me yesterday and the day before that I’m just wondering where this sudden change came from."Damian let out a short breath, running a hand through his hair. "Maybe it’s because I can’t stay mad at you for long," he admitted, his eyes darkening as they locked onto hers. "I’m addicted. It’s a problem."Aria scoffed playfully. "Easy, bro. Don't hurt yourself."He chuckled, the sound deep and rumbly, and pushed off the doorframe. "Gosh, Aria. I don't know what you have done to me."He moved toward the bed, climbing onto the mattress with a predatory grace. Aria instinctively recoiled, crossing her arms over her chest in an X shape. "Where do you think you're going?"Damian didn't stop until he was kneeling right in front of her. His expression turned serious. "I spoke

Aria sipped her coffee, watching the steam curl into the air. The morning sunlight fell lazily across her laptop screen, but she couldn’t focus. Her phone buzzed. Lucas. She groaned but answered.“Hey… my queen,” Lucas said, voice warm and teasing.“Lucas, what is it?” she asked, trying to sound calm but failing.“I’m good… just missing you, baby,” he said, a slow grin audible in his tone.“Lucas, please… I don’t have time for this,” she snapped, putting her coffee down.“Oh? So you’re telling me I can’t tease my queen again?” he chuckled. “But seriously, Aria… you’re really lagging behind. What’s going on over there at Cross Empire?”She ran a hand over her face. “Well… for now, Damian has gone back to being cold. He’s… I don’t know, giving me attitude. You should’ve seen yesterday. He embarrassed me in front of everyone, Lucas.”Lucas whistled low. “Ah… that’s exactly why I’m telling you to be careful. Aria, Damian Cross is too smart. He’s probably planning something, seeing how far
