Chapter 823

Author: Gu Lingfei
Meanwhile, what was someone who locked herself in the guest room doing?

Serenity found a pen and paper in the room. She sat down in front of the sofa, put the paper on the coffee table, and then plopped down to carefully write a divorce agreement.

The couple did not buy another house after the marriage, so there was no property to divide.

He once said that he would leave the house in Brynfield to her, as well as the national MPV, if they divorced.

Serenity did not want them.

She did not want the house he used to deceive her!

She did not want his car either.

The car she was driving now was bought with Zachary’s money. She would pay him the full amount after the divorce.

She would not split his property or require him to compensate for her youth that sort of thing, or anything at all. They would each keep whatever assets under their names, and no one would owe the other anything. She just needed him to sign the paper.

If he wanted her to compensate for the loss of his youth or t

The last three chapters are awful. Your characters went from having character to behaving like 5 years old. These chapters are a waste of time. You really need an editor with a sense of what your readers like. Obviously, from the comments, your readers are frustrated with the direction of the book.

I think they need to be given some time to come to their senses.

Margaret pursed her lips before responding, “I only say these things in front of you. Never to outsiders, and certainly not to your aunt.“You’re outstanding in your own right. There's no need to compete with anyone over a man.”Still, she could not help feeling a twinge of regret. They had missed out on such an exceptional son-in-law like Austin.“Speaking of which, how did the York family's matriarch even know about Isabella? I heard she’s already in her eighties, yet she’s still flying around handpicking brides for her grandsons.”Margaret was very curious about Grandma May.Tati replied, “I don’t know much about Old Mrs. York or about all that. All that matters is that she chose Isabella, and Austin fell for her. I have zero romantic feelings for him, so please stop implying we ‘missed out’ on him.“It could easily be misinterpreted.”“I know.”Margaret only voiced these thoughts privately to her daughter. Late at night, with everyone asleep, their conversation would not b

Tony Longbottom was precisely that sort of ungrateful bastard.“Mom, do you know about the Jensburg Fishers?” Tati asked.Margaret replied, “I rarely go out, and Jensburg is so far from here. How would I know about them?”Tati recounted the Fisher family’s situation to her mother. She explained, “The Fisher matriarch’s ending is exactly what Tony Longbottom fears. He doesn’t want to have all his hard work come to nothing and give it all back to the main line. That’s why he’s set his eldest son’s sights on us.“It's all about securing a backup plan for themselves.“If they form a marriage alliance with us, and the true Longbottom heir returns to reclaim everything, do you think Manny Longbottom and his father could refuse? The legitimate heir holds all the family symbols of authority.“The Longbottoms’ elite forces obey the tokens, not individuals. Whoever possesses them commands their absolute loyalty.“At that point, as their in-laws, wouldn’t we be forced to assist Manny Long

“Mom, do you really think Manny Longbottom genuinely likes me? What he likes is the power, money, and influence our family has.“His so-called affection isn’t real. He just thinks I’m an easier target than Isabella, which is why he’s been pestering me nonstop.“Anyway, don’t mention Manny Longbottom in my presence ever again. I don’t like him, and won’t ever give him a chance, let alone marry him.”Tati suspected her mother’s sudden urgency stemmed from Isabella making her relationship with Austin public. Seeing her niece secure such an outstanding match from a well-respected family had probably sparked a sense of envy beneath her mother’s concern.Margaret was not willing to give up yet. She argued, “How can you be sure of his intentions if you’ve never even given him a chance or spent time with him at all?“Isabella is the true head of our family. Your marriage won’t affect the family business.“Manny Longbottom knew that perfectly well when he started pursuing you.“You’re al

Tati could not help but grumble. Her mother was the epitome of propriety. She was always perfectly made up, with high heels on, and was impeccably dressed even at home. She would even only remove her makeup when she went to bed.Even now, waiting up late for her daughter, Margaret remained fully groomed. Her elegant, dignified image was impregnable no matter the hour.Tati often wondered if her mother ever grew tired of it. To her, it seemed exhausting.“With Isabella taking a few days off, I’ve taken over her workload. I’ve been swamped, so that’s why I’m late. Tonight’s actually considered pretty early. I might come home even later for the next few days. So, Mom, if you need anything, just call me. No need to wait up like this.”Margaret complained, “When I call you, you say you’re busy not even two sentences later. In the morning when you leave, I’m still asleep, so I don’t get to see you then either. The only chance I have of catching you is if I wait up for you at night.“To

Currently, Tati and Isabella, along with Edith and Eleanor, were supporting their family business while also developing their private ventures. This was just in case Louis and Phillip took over one day and pushed them out.No matter how close they were now, when interests were at stake, who knew if the boys would start putting their guards up against them or even scheming behind their backs?Tati believed it was better to just stay single. That way, she would remain unrestrained.Once Isabella married and had children, the elders would have grandchildren to dote on and would likely stop pestering her about marriage. However, her parents were not actually in a hurry for her to marry. On the surface, they claimed it would be her own choice and that they would let her pursue love freely. Deep down, though, she knew it was because Louis and Phillip were still too young to manage the family business. They needed her and the other girls to stay around longer to keep things running. If

Tati teased, “Wouldn’t it be great if we could be sisters-in-law on top of being pretty much sisters?”“I did think about it, but all of Austin’s older brothers are already taken. He has three younger brothers, but they’re still too young. Grandma May isn’t even in a hurry to find matches for them yet.”Tati giggled. “Isa, I was just joking. Don’t take it seriously.”“Oh, right. Last time I visited FC Manor, I met a few of the single Johnson men. Francis Johnson would actually be a great match for you. Next time I chat with Grandma May, I’ll ask her to play matchmaker for you.”“Wait, Isa, are you serious? I was only kidding! I don’t want to get married, at least not right now. Maybe when I’m thirty, and if I change my mind,” Tati exclaimed, not expecting Isabella to actually consider setting her up.Truthfully, she had no intention of marrying and would happily stay single forever. It was not like her parents or younger brothers would kick her out. With her own substantial asset
