Dylan's POV

There was a moment, right after she said she didn’t know how to do this, when everything changed.

Not loudly.

Not dramatically.

But I felt it.

The resistance that had been so sharp, so immediate before… it wasn’t gone.

But it had softened.

And that was enough.

She was still standing in front of me, close enough that I could see the faint rise and fall of her breathing, the slight tension in her shoulders that hadn’t fully disappeared.

But she hadn’t stepped away.

That mattered.

  • Married by Fate, Broken by Love   Chapter 127

Dylan's POVThe sound of Richard’s footsteps echoing through the parking structure made every instinct inside me sharpen instantly. The underground level suddenly felt too open and too confined at the same time, with concrete pillars creating endless blind spots across the dim space. Aliya stood beside me holding Leo tightly while the remaining guards moved strategically around us, trying to secure a clear route toward the vehicle waiting several rows ahead. The alarms from above still echoed faintly through the structure, but down here another sound had started replacing them gradually. Tension. Pure tension hanging so heavily in the air that every breath felt strained.“Get them to the car,” I ordered quietly. Two guards immediately moved toward Aliya and Leo while I stayed behind slightly, my eyes fixed on the dark entrance corridor where Richard’s footsteps continued approaching.“You’re coming too,” Aliya said sharply beside me. I looked toward her immediately. Fear filled her ex

  • Married by Fate, Broken by Love   Chapter 126

Aliya's POVThe moment Dylan realized the security system might be compromised, the fear inside me turned completely real.Until now, part of me still believed this situation could somehow remain controlled, contained within arguments, threats, and intimidation. But hearing Richard’s voice echo through the stairwell while alarms screamed around us shattered that illusion entirely. They had followed us directly into the building, manipulated security, triggered distractions, and somehow regained access to each other despite being separated only minutes earlier. Nothing about this felt reckless anymore. It felt planned carefully enough to terrify me.“We need another route,” one of the guards said quickly. Dylan nodded immediately, though his attention stayed focused on the stairwell entrance where distant footsteps continued echoing upward.“There’s a maintenance elevator on the east side,” another guard added. “Restricted access only.” Dylan turned sharply toward him.“Can it bypass t

  • Married by Fate, Broken by Love   Chapter 125

Dylan's POV The alarm blasted through the building so loudly that everything descended into chaos within seconds.Sharp emergency sounds echoed across every corner of the floor while red warning lights flashed violently against the walls and ceiling. Leo covered his ears immediately, startled badly by the sudden noise, and Aliya pulled him against herself protectively without hesitation. The security guards reacted almost instantly too, some moving toward Lydia while others reached for communication devices at the same time. But the moment confusion entered the room, Lydia smiled. That smile told me everything. This had been planned.“She triggered it,” I said sharply. One of the guards moved toward Lydia immediately, but before he could reach her, the lights flickered violently overhead. Then half the floor went dark.“What the hell?” another guard cursed loudly. The emergency system switched to backup power almost immediately afterward, but the few seconds of darkness were enough t

  • Married by Fate, Broken by Love   Chapter 124

Aliya's POV The moment I saw Lydia standing there, fear crashed through me so violently that I stopped breathing for a second.Everything inside my body went cold instantly while my mind struggled to process how she had managed to get upstairs without anyone stopping her. Leo stood only a few feet away from her, completely unaware of the danger now standing inside the same room with us. Lydia looked calm, disturbingly calm, and somehow that frightened me more than if she had walked in screaming. Her eyes moved slowly from Leo to me before finally settling on Dylan, and the smile forming across her face carried something deeply unsettling underneath it.“You really increased security,” she said softly. Dylan stepped forward immediately, placing himself between her and Leo without hesitation. The movement happened so naturally that it made my chest tighten painfully for a completely different reason.“How did you get up here?” Dylan asked coldly. Lydia tilted her head slightly, still s

  • Married by Fate, Broken by Love   Chapter 123

Dylan's POV The moment I heard those words, every instinct inside me sharpened instantly. A missing security vehicle during a situation like this was never random, especially not after Lydia conveniently appeared downstairs demanding attention. Aliya’s face lost color beside me almost immediately, and I could already tell her thoughts had gone straight to Leo before anything else. Mine had too. That was the dangerous part about involving children in conflict because every unexpected movement suddenly felt catastrophic even before proof existed. I tightened my grip slightly around the phone while forcing myself to stay calm enough to think clearly.“How long?” I asked sharply. The man on the other end answered quickly, though his voice carried obvious tension now too.“Approximately twelve minutes,” he replied. Twelve minutes. That was more than enough time for something to happen.“Last known location?” I asked. I heard typing in the background before another response came through i

  • Married by Fate, Broken by Love   Chapter 122

Aliya's POV The question froze the entire room instantly. For a second, nobody moved or spoke, and the silence that followed felt heavier than anything else that had happened today. Leo sat there looking between us innocently, completely unaware of how complicated that single question actually was. I looked toward Dylan instinctively, but his attention remained fixed on Leo now, his expression unreadable in a way that told me he was choosing his response carefully. Children always asked the hardest questions at the worst moments because they had not yet learned how much adults hid from each other constantly.“She’s…” I started quietly before stopping myself almost immediately. What exactly was Lydia supposed to be described as? Saying she was Dylan’s ex sounded too simple for the amount of destruction currently surrounding us because of her.“A complicated person,” Dylan answered finally. Leo frowned slightly after hearing that explanation.“That doesn’t explain anything,” he said s
