Chapter XVIII

Things have just gotten a little awkward for Jared and Rossie. During dinner and even after that, there was a gap between them both. It might not be obvious to others but Rossie could feel the tension between them.

When it was bedtime, Jared even made his way to take one pillow and head to the couch. Now she stays in the huge bed alone surrounded by big pillows. She's used to sleeping alone. There was no problem with that, just not in a big bed like this.

Rossie couldn't take it and she sits up, sheets rustling. She made her way to peek through the doorway to the couch. She sees the light from his Ipad reflected on his face. He is still awake, she thought. Should she go and make up with Jared? How was she supposed to do that?

"I should've kept my mouth shut," she groans, going back to laying down.

For an hour, she tossed and turn in the bed. They can't keep avoiding each other or it'll be damn crazy when they pretend in front of the family. Why was he so defensive when she just asked
