Tristan’s POV

Abuela had been asking me to read to her lately.

I didn’t know when it started, but I couldn’t complain. One evening after work, she handed me a book and said her eyes were tired. I read two pages before she fell asleep. The next night she handed me the same book. We never really talked about it. It just became something we did.

And today wasn’t any different. The only difference was that I hadn’t gone into work today.

Tristan’s POVAbuela had been asking me to read to her lately. I sat in the chair beside her, the same book open in my hands. Soft afternoon light filtered through the curtains.Abuela was propped up against the pillows, her eyes closed. I read quietly, turning pages carefully so the sound wouldn’t disturb her. She was breathing steadily. Halfway through the chapter, I paused.“Abuela?”A smile tugged at her lips. “I’m with you, Tristan.”I continued reading. For a few minutes, the house felt quiet in a way I never imagined. Just the sound of my voice and Abuela’s breathing. I didn’t realize how much I needed th

  • Married to the Devil   Chapter 69–Forgive Me

Natasha’s POVThe call had been going for twenty minutes and I still hadn’t gotten a word in. Rani was in full consultant mode, going on about timelines, branding strategies, social media content calendars, and marketing plans. I nodded every time, occasionally scribbling notes on the pad in front of me. When she finally paused to breathe, I jumped in. “We’ve already gone over most of this before, Rani,” I said, laughing softly. “I got a space last week. Signed the papers yesterday.”There was a short pause on her end. “Already?” She sounded surprised but pleased. “That’s fast. Good. Send me the address and photos when you can.”“I can show you now.” I switched the call to video. “Take a look.”I walked her through the space, showing off the small showroom, the workspace, the private office. Everything. After showing Rani around, she finally said, “This is really impressive, Natasha.” She smiled. “Now we can start building your portfolio around that location.”I nodded. “Great. I

Tristan’s POV“Mr. Castillo,” my secretary called as she hurried to keep up with me. “Good thing you’re here. We have a client from Pennsylvania who needs a shipment delivered to Ireland by next week. It’s mostly supplements. We haven’t confirmed the booking yet.”“Schedule a call with them,” I replied without breaking stride. “We’ll need to discuss an alternative route."She nodded. “Okay, sir. Should I inform the logistics team?”“After the call,” I said. “If they agree to the revised route, have operations prepare a new quotation and let logistics take it from there.”“Alright, sir. After you.”She led me to the conference room. I stepped inside and took my seat at the head of the table. She set up the screen for the meeting. My secretary connected the line and stepped out, closing the door behind her. The call connected after four rings. A middle-aged woman appeared on the screen. “Mr. Castillo,” she greeted. “Thanks for making time.”I leaned back in my chair, glancing at my wr

  • Married to the Devil   Chapter 67–Call Your Dogs Off

Natasha’s POVI woke up to a throbbing headache—the kind that felt like someone was hammering inside my skull. I sat up and pressed a palm against my forehead, my fingers tracing lazy circles over my temple. My gaze dropped to the wedding ring on the nightstand. Everything that had happened the previous day came rushing back. Anger surged through me. I swung my feet off the bed, grabbed the ring, yanked the drawer open, and tossed it inside.I headed for the door and went downstairs. Ananya was seated on the couch . She looked up the moment she saw me. “Good morning, Tasha,” she greeted. “How did you sleep?”“Fine.”I went into the kitchen to help myself to a cup of coffee before leaning against the kitchen doorway.Ananya’s eyes shifted to my stomach before returning to me. “Are you supposed to be drinking that?”I took a sip, then gave a faint shrug. “I don’t know.”She stared at me as I took another sip. “I saw the hospital folder,” she said. “Does he know yet?”I shook my head

  • Married to the Devil   Chapter 66–Couldn’t Stop Her

Tristan’s POV“If you don’t let me go, I swear to God I’ll step in front of the next moving car”I stopped in my tracks. “You won’t do that.”Would she? Natasha turned toward the road. “Watch me.”My life flashed before my eyes. “Natash—”“I mean it, Tristan.”I froze. Every instinct screamed at me to go after her, but I couldn’t risk it. Not when she was this emotional. If I pushed too hard… she actually might do it. So I stood there, hands buried in my pockets, forcing myself not to move. Watching her leave felt like a knife in the gut. But if letting her leave meant she stayed alive, then I’d let her hate me for today. She flagged down another taxi and climbed inside. The taxi drove off. I memorized the taxi’s plate number KX4-7P9—before it disappeared around the corner. I walked over to my car, got in, started the engine and tailed the cab. The moment I was on the road, I reached for my phone and dialed Daniel. “Tristan.”“Natasha’s car is by the road,” I said, gripping th

  • Married to the Devil   Chapter 65–Tell Me It’s Not True

Natasha’s POVThe last fifteen minutes in Doctor Nicole’s office had passed in a blur. I didn’t know how to feel. I was overwhelmed. But what was I expecting? Tristan and I spent our entire honeymoon together. This was bound to happen. I left Doctor Nicole's office in silence and headed straight for the laboratory. I handed the slip to the receptionist at the laboratory. Minutes later, I was called into a small booth. The woman glanced at the request form before looking at me. “Good morning. Can you please confirm your full name and date of birth?”“Natasha Castillo. December 8, 2001.”She nodded after checking the form. “Perfect. Have your seat.”She wrapped a rubber strap around my upper arm and cleaned the inside of my elbow. A vein became visible almost immediately. “This might hurt a little,” she said. “Okay.”She drew two tubes of blood before placing a cotton ball over the spot. “Hold this for a minute.”She reached for a bandage and secured it in place. “The result will g

Tristan’s POV By the time I stepped into the house, the urgency from the call had already faded. My sister, Patricia, was waiting at the foyer. “She’s been asking for you,” she said. “Her blood pressure spiked earlier, and we tried to calm her down, but she just wouldn’t budge.” I didn’t resp

  • Married to the Devil   Chapter 4–Just One Year

Natasha’s POV I glared at him. If looks could kill, this man would have been dead by now. “I don’t recall giving you permission to call me that.”His smile didn’t fade. If anything, it deepened, like he was enjoying every second of my irritation. “I don’t remember asking for permission, cariño.”

  • Married to the Devil   Chapter 3–Well… Fuck Me

Natasha’s POV “Hell fucking no! You can’t be serious,” I said. “You really expect me to marry Tristan Castillo? The same Tristan who was rumored to have killed his own parents?” I laughed after I said that, because the whole thing sounded like a bad joke. My father didn’t react immediately. H

  • Married to the Devil   Chapter 1–A Stranger At The Club

Natasha’s POV The music was too loud. I wasn’t sure if that was a good thing or a bad thing. The pounding bass pulsing through the nightclub drowned my thoughts. On the other hand, the flashing lights and the bodies pressed against each other on the dance floor made everything unbearable. I
