Chapter 16: I would have done it for anyone

(Dimitri’s POV)

I walk around from one side to the other feeling restless, then I take a seat on the uncomfortable chair in the waiting room at the Central Hospital and I rest my arms on my legs. I slowly open and close my fist, my skin is itching from the burn I got when I went inside the house.

“Do you want a cup of coffee, Dimitri? You look like you need one,” Kirill comments as he hands me a cardboard cup from the vending machine.

“Thank you,” I reply curtly. “Have you seen my mother?”

“I think she is keeping Margaret company, she inhale a lot of smoke and the doctors wanted to run some tests,” Kirill explains to me. “What about Victoria? Have you heard anything?”

Who started the fire? Dimitri did well by saving his wife. He's human and he loves her even though he doesn't want to admit it.
