Ep 2

Beaming eyes filled with awe and admiration focused on the bride who walked into the church with her arm linked with her father's as they both walked to the aisle.

Landon smiled at this bride not because he loved her but because she looked more beautiful than he pictured her to be.

‘She is so beautiful'.Lucas,his immediate younger brother marveled at the sight of his sister in-law.

He would've married Alice if having the opportunity given the chance that he has always loved her right from the start.

His brother was always the lucky one in the family.

‘Let's hope she makes a good wife more than she makes a beautiful bride'.Landon muttered under his breath with his smile dissapeared and Lucas sighed deeply.

A happy married life??.

He wasn't so sure about that.

‘You look nice'.Landon complimented Alice as they locked hands even though nice was kind of an understatement to what she really looked like.

‘Thank you, you're not so bad yourself'.She returned the compliment but added a warm smile that kind of made him feel incredibly embarrassed.

The sooner he tells her about his own side proposal the better.

‘Shall we begin'.The priest said in a croaky voice and the couple's focus rested fully on him,and then he began the ceremony.

‘Are you sure this idea is a good one?'.Lucas whispered to his favourite sibling Catherine and she sighed deeply.

‘Alice I'm pretty sure off has always had a crush on our brother but Landon is a cold brute who doesn't even want to get married'.

‘Poor Alice,I know this is all a business arrangement but she doesn't de...or he doesn't deserve her'.Lucas pointed out and he was shushed by the other members of the congregation.

‘Is there anyone who is against this holy matrimony?.Speak now or forever hold your peace!'.The priest said aloud and Catherine's mouth opened as if to object but she shut it right back.

‘Well then in absence of any objections by the power vested in me by the Lord most high I now pronounce you man and wife'.

Night fell and Alice yanwed loudly as she glanced outside the window of the car.She wasn't really interested by the streets she was only nervous.

‘So tomorrow...'.Landon started and she quickly flinched at the sound of his voice which left a sardonic look on his face.

‘Like I was saying before,tomorrow we'll hold a shareholder meeting and then the papers would be drafted up to seal the partnership deal.The full profit and office log would be drawn up to your taste and hopefully your office would also be redecorated'.He added and she nodded.

Talking about business on their wedding night wasn't really how she envisioned the whole thing.A typical wedding night would be the bride feeling nervous of a kind but here she was listening to her husband talk about business.

‘Uhh Alice I'm talking to you?'.Landon interrupted her subconscious monologue and she flinched again.

‘Got it'.She said nervously just as the car parked in front of the hotel.

‘Jefferson what are we doing here?'.Landon asked the 34 year old cheffeur.

‘Uhh sir,Miss Catherine booked a suite for you and the young madam here for a week and she ordered me to bring you—

‘Take us home to the Mikaelson mansion! My own mansion Jefferson and don't you take orders from my sister without consulting me first'.He yelled angrily and Alice couldn't help but wonder.

Why was he so pissed off?.

It's only a goddamn good gesture?.

‘Maybe she didn't mean so bad after all'.She finally spoke up trying to ease the tension but clearly Landon wasn't in the mood for her meekness.

‘I expect you to be practical Alice this isn't something Catherine can just do and get away with it? She wasted my precious time and I am on a working timetable—Now I should be having my beauty sleep'.

‘Beauty sleep??'.Her mouth dropped.

‘Yes my beauty sleep, tomorrow I'll have to go to Limerick in Ireland for the grand opening of our new branch and wouldn't be back in a day or two...'.He ratted on endlessly about the business and all she could do was just mope at him.

So much for a wedding night.
