Madison POV
The church was full of different kinds of majestic decorations. A theme of white and gold, the color that is perfectly expressing both purity and prosperity. Indeed, it is really f*cking wonderful. A wonderful place to exchange vows for eternity. Tch, But then... On this fre*king wonderful day, who? Tell me who would have thought?! Who would have thought that arggh! A mere guest like me who was forced to attend this d*mn wedding of my damn stepsister will become the bride??!
"Gavin Morgan, do you take Madison Wilhenberg, to be your wife and promise to be true to her in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. Will love her and honor her all the days of her life, till death do you apart?”
“I do ”“And you Madison Wilhenberg, do you take Gavin Morgan to be your husband and promise to be true to him in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. Will love him and honor him all the days of his life, till death do you apart? "I blankly stare at the priest. Is he waiting for my response? Ahhh, why are they staring at me? Even this pretty faced like mannequin guy is looking at me. Stop glaring, will you?The priest tilts his head as I look back at him. The words that escape my mouth make the man standing in front of me staring as if nothing happened.“I… Do I?” End of Madison POV*Moments ago*“Where is the bride??? The wedding will soon start!”
Hasty dialing her daughter's phone, Miranda started to panic. “Marriano, she won’t pick up her phone.”“Miranda, the wedding is about to start! Where is your damn daughter??”“She is your daughter too, Marriano”
After having some few exchanges of quarreling, Miranda asks the wedding organizer.“Can we just wait for a little more? I’m sure they are on their way here”
“All the guests are asking if there is something wrong. Where is the bride?”The organizer asked her with an annoyed face. They were all shocked as the groom who was waiting in his lodge finally revealed himself. Looking at his luxurious wristwatch, his whole existence is shouting how rich he is. A finely made tuxedo with an elegant bow tie that is perfectly matching his outfit.
Undoubtedly, he is Gavin Morgan, the main center of attraction in this whole wedding ceremony.“Mr. Wilhenberg, I assume this is the perfect time to start the ceremony. Where is your daughter?”
“Mr. Morgan… she…”
Sweat can be seen rushing down his forehead. It was an air-conditioned place yet he was taking out a cold sweat. Gavin notice it and didn’t bother to ask what is the matter. All he is concerned about is whether he will get married today or not. Whether the ceremony will continue or be postponed.“She is right here. The… bride is here. We shall start the ceremony, Mr. Morgan”
A girl with a cold gaze to her stepmother broadly look at her father who was wagging his tail like a good and obedient dog. Her deep green orbs then fall into Gavin’s blue one.
“Is it her?”“Y-yes. She is the one you will marry.”“What?”Miranda tightened her clench in Madison’s arm making her glare and slap Miranda’s hands. The old lady didn’t bother with what Madison had done. Her fool daughter escaped her own wedding, Madison is their only hope. She can’t argue with her or else things will get more chaotic.“If that’s it, where is her veil? And what’s with that kind of outfit?”“I don’t care whether she is wearing a veil or not. I don’t even bother marrying even if she is just wearing a rag or none. Hurry up, I want this to finish as soon as possible ”“Y-yes sir"Madison POVI was attending this wedding just because I have no choice. I and Massie are not that close. In fact, I hate her to guts. Just seeing how loved she is, makes me puke. Just seeing her existence makes me be reminded of what my father did to my mother. How he cheated and make this woman who isn’t his wife bear his child. Now he wants me to marry someone who supposes to be my stepsister’s supposed to be husband? Is he thinking of me as a substitute? A replacement?
I look at myself only to find me standing in front of the big door. Should I run? Or should I marry him? To be honest, I not know what to do in my life. That man, I mean… the one who I will get married to… he is handsome. Got some damn pretty face. The door soon opened. What a rush, I thought to myself as I walk in my usual pace. I assume, bride are suppose to walk in a slow pace but in my case… the hell I care. Just look at me. Look how I ruin this stupid wedding of these people.
Cold gazes are piercing in me as I carelessly walk the way I wanted to. No ones gonna stop me. Why so? I just think that my soon to be husband is no simple guy. Bet they don’t want to make chaos or…
Stopping what I am thinking of, his face seems to be telling me to walk faster. I stop midway and lock my eyes on him. Taking a small steps every second, I finally tune with the slow beat of the wedding march.
Annoyance can be seen on his face but it didn’t last for a long time. In fairness to him, he still have a nice face even if he is mad. I stopped in my teasing and naturally walk down the aisle.
“I thought it will take a whole day before you finally have your way here.”
I didn’t talk back and just keep my poker face. I don’t want to talk back to him. Not inside this church.
“Father, let’s skip those parts. Just head straight to the I do part, please?”
“Sure, Mr. Morgan. It looks like you cant wait to marry her..."
"Yes”
Replying with a innocent smile, I cant help but think how two face he is. Alright, I won’t argue. It’s not like I would finish this ceremony. The best way to end a wedding is when the bride is running~
I slightly giggled in my thoughts. How amazing it is, they both rhyme perfeeeectly.
"Gavin Morgan, do you take Madison Wilhenberg, to be your wife and promise to be true to her in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. Will love her and honor her all the days of her life, till death do you apart?”“I do ”
“And you Madison Wilhenberg, do you take Gavin Morgan to be your husband and promise to be true to him in good times and in bad, in sickness and in health. Will love him and honor him all the days of his life, till death do you apart? "
“I… Do I?”
I am expecting to see them jaw drop but what surprised me is when he did the things I didn’t expect or even tried to imagine happening to me. His response to my word is a smirk. Taking a step forward and leaning to my direction, I tried to step back only to feel his hand touching the back of my waist. He is holding my weights to not make me fall.
“Yes, you do”
And with that, his lips slowly touches mine.
It was a peaceful morning. People just came out of the church and went to their own businesses. “Sylv! Let’s go there!” “Slow down, princess! Sylv is carrying my child!” “C’mon, Jason, don’t be too over protective!” The pregnant woman, named Sylv just laughed as her eyes went to the beautiful lady at the flower shop. “My lady!” She exclaimed as she shove Princess’s hand away. She rushed toward the lady that she saw. “Thank you.” The beautiful lady in a beautiful dress said as she put the bouquet of flowers down. “My lady!” The beautiful lady looked at the person that called her. She beamed when she saw familiar faces getting near them. “Sylv. How are you? How’s the baby?” She asked as she gave them a teasing smile. The couple just blushed as they looked at each other. While Princess just grinned at them. “Ah! Are you alone, my lady?” Jason asked while looking around. The lady shook her head. She was about to answer when someone pulled the hem of her dress. “Mommy! Mom
AUTHOR’S POVAfter that night, Madison woke up because of the knock. Gavin moved a bit to not wake her up but she woke up anyways. Gavin opened the door and saw the head maid looking at him suspiciously as she peaked behind him to see if Madison is alright. The head maid sighed and glared at Gavin.“Don’t look at me like that, Nana Beatrice. I didn’t do anything to my wife.”He groaned. The head maid just sighed and pushed Gavin aside as she pushed a pushing cart containing foods inside.“Good morning, My lady.”“Hmm.”Madison stood up and went to the table with her eyes closed. “I already bought your clothes here so you can change here.”“Hmm.”“Also, your mother dropped by here with a lot of gifts for you.”“Hmm- huh?”Madison’s sleepy eyes went wide open as Gavin just raised both of his eyebrows and went inside the shower.“She was here?”“Yes, My lady.” “With what?”“A lot of gifts, my lady.”Feeling surprised, Madison dazed and remembered what happened yesterday. The head maid
AUTHOR’S POVMiranda was shocked by Gavin’s sudden outburst.Gavin couldn’t care anymore as he only thought of Madison’s state. He felt mad at how Miranda acts in front of them. For him, Miranda isn’t a type of person that he could just convince with such submissive words. Still surprised, Miranda glared at Gavin but Gavin, being himself, just stared back at Miranda. Madison saw the tension between the two so she pulled Gavin’s hand as she turned around to leave.“Madison! Please, let’s talk.”Miranda tried approaching her but Gavin stood in front of him. He can feel that Madison is going to break down any moment if she stays here. For him, even though he didn’t ask Madison about her past, he still has an idea that her childhood didn’t end great.“Get out of my way!”“I can’t do that.”“You..! Madison! Please let’s talk, my love.”Madison stopped on her track as she glanced back at her mother.“Give me time..”She said then leave. Miranda looks devastated that her plan on approachi
What is a mother? What does it take to be a mother? People usually call a person a mother if the woman gave birth to her child. If that person took care of that baby for 9 months and painfully gave birth and loved her child. That’s what mothers usually do.But being a mother isn't just considered as being pregnant. There are mothers who adopted their child. Those who treated the children like their own even though she’s not her mother. Or even an older sister that stood like a mother. A mother that sacrifices a lot. A mother that doesn’t love their child and just uses them for their own benefit. Mother that was forced to conceive a child and end up hating them. And a mother that only sees their child as an insurance for their future. No one really knows how mothers really love their children as they have a different version of how they show it. And sometimes the way they show it is confusing even for their own child. Maybe that’s why there are children that choose to be rebellious
MADISON’S POVAfter that news, the maids and servants took pity on me even more. They stop by more often to talk to me and ask if I’m okay. They greet me with a smile and sometimes they will bring something for me.Usually macaroons and steak flavored candies. The maid that was assigned to Chowie often put him in my room or wherever near me.I don’t find it troublesome, but instead, I am thankful for their efforts. I know that they are just trying to make me better. Although I just usually say a dry ‘thanks’, they are very much appreciated. Gavin also asked me about my opinion of what happened. He was the only one that knew that I really didn’t care what happened to that house. I actually wondered if Lucia got burnt together with the house. If not, then that’s unfortunate..But even after Gavin knowing the fact that my father sold me and used me to pay off his debts, he still observed me very carefully. He’s like trying to see if I really didn’t care. And guess what, I do care, at le
MADISON'S POVEver since I was a kid, I fell in love with the idea of meeting someone that will truly love me and stay by my side. Living and dying together. Through sickness and in health. Just like in wedding vows.A prince charming just like my father that have good looks and wealth so that we can live in a castle. My children would run around as I drink my tea in my garden, just like how my mother is doing. And going out every weekends just what we did way back in the past.I was still unaware of what kind of status and power that my family hold because my mother took care of me without saying that we're more privileged than others. She raised me to be humble but not forgetting that there's no one that could look down on me.That's why I thought that having someone by my side, that will love and stay through everything would be easy. Maybe it's because of my naive mind that I'm expecting that everyone will have an happily ever after, just like how princesses in movies have. That
