I glanced at the two of them but didn't expose their lies. Instead, I feigned amnesia.

"Jonah, since you're my boyfriend, why don't you take me home?"

The man named Jonah Mullen nodded and went to handle my discharge procedures.

Meanwhile, my real boyfriend, Eric Cobb, stood silently to the side.

In the end, it was Jonah who took me home. I quietly stepped out of the room and overheard him talking on the phone in the living room.

"Jonah, do me a favor—pretend to be Gina's boyfriend for a while."

"What you're doing is crazy! She's going to find out the truth sooner or later."

"Don't worry, dude. She's easy to win over. Besides, she loves me so much—there's no way she'd really leave me. But we've been together for two years, and honestly, I'm bored with her. So I plan to enjoy my freedom while she's lost her memory."

"You've hooked up with Lila, haven't you? You're just using this as an excuse to mess around with her."

"It's impossible for a man to spend his life with only one woman, though my heart still belongs to Gina."

I silently returned to the room, making a slight noise as I opened the door. Then, I walked back out to the living room.

Hearing the sound, Jonah quickly hung up the phone and turned to look at me.

"Why don't you rest a little longer?" He placed a hand on my forehead to check if I still had a fever. Then, he led me to sit on the sofa.

"I'm hungry." Right on cue, my stomach growled loudly.

"What do you feel like eating? How could I make some mac-and-cheese for you?"

I nodded.

He got up and went to the fridge to pour me a glass of milk. After passing it to me, he ruffled my hair and planted a kiss on my cheek.

"Wait here. I'll be done soon."

As he leaned in for another kiss, I turned my head away.

Jonah gently touched my face. "It's okay if you don't remember me. Let's just take it slow."

Then, he headed into the kitchen, and soon, the aroma of food filled the air.

After dinner, I got up to return to my room. He followed right behind me.

My chest tightened—was he planning to sleep in the same room as me?

As far as he knew, I had amnesia, and he was my boyfriend—of course, he'd expect us to share a bed. But in reality, I hadn't lost my memory at all.

Jonah followed me into the room, and I stood to the side, frantically trying to figure out how to avoid the situation.

"Um, I—"

"Starting tonight, you'll sleep here. I'll be in the next room. Call me if you need anything."

We spoke at the same time, and his words left me stunned.

"We have plenty of time to get to know each other again, so we can take it slow."

My face flushed with embarrassment at my earlier assumptions. I lowered my head, unsure how to face him.

"Gina, my friends are getting together tomorrow. Come with me?"

Still recovering from the embarrassment, I nodded instinctively. "Okay." Then, I pretended to look troubled. "But I'm afraid I won't recognize anyone."

"Don't worry. You have me."

That night, I actually slept pretty well.

"I've had this ring ready for a long time. It's engraved with our name. I was going to ask for your forgiveness once you regained your memory. I don't care what happened between you and Jonah because it was all my fault."And I'll spend the rest of my life making it up to you—I'll give you whatever you want. Gina, I love you. I really do. Please forgive me. You loved me so much—just forgive me this once, okay?"He held the sparkling diamond ring out to me, my name etched into the band.Jonah swatted the ring out of Eric's hand. "Eric, from the moment you betrayed Gina, you lost the right to love her! Since you've betrayed her, why shouldn't she be with someone else? She's my girlfriend now—you'll never get another chance!"Jonah's words felt oddly familiar. I had said the exact same thing to Lila that day by the lake at the resort.Eric's face was streaked with tears as he shook his head repeatedly. "No, this can't be."He crawled to pick up the ring, muttering, "No, that's impos

I shouted in panic.Eric froze and stared at the knife in his hand in disbelief.Lila lay on the ground, laughing through her tears. "Gina, I'm not stupid enough to ruin my life just to hurt you."Her laughter grew wilder, her expression almost manic. "You two have all the money and power, yet you let one woman play you like fools!"I looked at Lila helplessly. It was never her plan to hurt me—she just wanted to use me as bait to draw them out."You two idiots! Gina never lost her memory!" she shouted.Eric was immediately stunned.Lila looked at him scornfully. "You keep saying she loves you the most and that once she gets her memory back, she'll come running back to you. She never lost her memory, yet she still chose to be with Jonah! Do you get it now? Gina doesn't love you at all."She knew you betrayed her, so she went along with Jonah instead. Even without you, she can still live a comfortable life!"Lila's face twisted with madness as she turned to Jonah, laughing. "Jon

Eric hadn't shown up again in the past few days, and my relationship with Jonah continued to develop steadily and peacefully. On this particular day, Lila asked to meet up, claiming she had finally given Eric up for good. Once she fully recovered, she planned to leave for another city. She also assured me I didn't have to worry about her revealing the truth. When I saw her at the hospital, she looked a little worn out."You really plan on giving up, huh?" I asked. She smiled faintly. "What else can I do? He only loves you. I really did love him, though."I sat on the bench beside her, trying to comfort her. "I hope you can move on. Other than Eric, there are many other men too."She looked at me. "I really want to know—how did both Eric and Jonah could have fallen for you like this?"I raised an eyebrow. "Are you recording this?"She paused, then laughed and pulled her phone out of her pocket. "You caught me."I turned off the recording and handed it back to her. "There's re

Recently, Eric had been spending most of his time at the hospital. Lila's selfless act of saving him had deeply moved him.Looking at her social media post, I saw the table piled high with flowers and gourmet food from him. He was tending to her with care, bustling around like a devoted partner. They looked happy together. On my birthday, Jonah got me a cake even more extravagant than the one Eric had given Lila whereas Eric gave me a pricey diamond. The moment I saw the gifts, I ran happily toward them. Eric stepped forward excitedly, but in the next second, I threw myself into Jonah's arms."Thank you for the gift. I love it!" I said.Jonah kissed my cheek. "Happy birthday, my princess."Eric stood there, staring at us with his fists clenched tightly.I knew Jonah had stopped Eric from telling me the truth. He had said, "Are you sure she'll accept you if you tell her the truth now? She doesn't remember you and has no feelings for you. If you tell her now, she'll only resent yo

As Lila and I headed back, Jonah walked up to us, holding the scarf I'd left in the room."Here, put this on. Don't catch a cold," he said gently, wrapping it around my neck.Eric also hurried over. However, instead of going to Lila, he glared coldly in our direction, his eyes fixed on Jonah.I shot him a puzzled look, and he immediately stepped closer."Gina, the lake's frozen now—perfect for ice fishing. You mentioned wanting to try it before, so how about I take you later?" Eric offered.I glanced up at Jonah. "Is that true? Did I say I wanted to try ice fishing before? Can you take me instead?" "Sure. Let's go back and change into something warmer first." Jonah agreed and led me away.Eric stood there stiffly, and I could feel Lila's jealous gaze burning into my back.…Back in the room, while searching for a thick coat, I could feel Jonah watching me with an odd expression. When I looked up, his gaze was the same as always—gentle and steady.I smiled and wrapped a scarf

I gave her a sincere smile. "Looks like you figured it out. As my good friend, you'll keep my secret, right?"Lila pointed at me, backing away in shock. "You… You were faking it this whole time? Yet, you still got involved with Jonah? Gina Preston, I really underestimated you. You're the worst of them all!"I'm telling Eric and Jonah the truth—that you never lost your memory and have been lying to them from the start!"I didn't stop her. Instead, as she turned to leave, I warned coolly, "Are you sure you want to do that? If you tell Eric, do you really think he'll still want you?"Lila's eyes flickered with panic. It was as if she clearly remembered Eric's words earlier about ending things with her.A moment later, she scoffed, saying, "Once he knows the truth about you, he'll see that you've been deceiving him all along. You even slept with Jonah on purpose. He'll definitely never want you anymore."I shrugged. "Then, I'll just deny it. I'll cry and claim I thought he didn't wan
