Marry Me

"Marry me."

Noah's words instantly petrified Grace. Grace's tears welled up. She didn't expect Noah to ask something that an engaged man shouldn't ask.

Grace's mother was very sick at the moment, so Grace needed a lot of money for her mother's surgery, and Noah was her last option. However, Noah's condition was not to be ignored.

What is this? How could an engaged man ask her to marry him when Noah knew very well that it was forbidden to have a relationship between them? Not forbidden because of religion, but forbidden because of threats and curses from their parents, who forbade them from having a romantic relationship.

"Noah, my mom is very sick. How can you ask me to marry you?" asked Grace with tears in her eyes.

Noah laughed and got up from his chair. He approached Grace and put part of his buttocks on the corner of the table.

"That's your business, Grace. I'm only giving you two options. First, you marry me and get the money. Second, you refuse my request and watch your mother die," Noah replied firmly.

Grace's tears flowed even harder as her heart was torn apart. A dilemma now lodged in her heart. Would she just accept Noah's wishes? After all, her mother wouldn't know. And the most important thing was her mother's recovery.

"Hurry up, Grace; I don't have much time to wait for you to think. Let alone watch you cry," Noah urged.

Grace begged and pleaded, but Noah wouldn't be consulted, so she had to agree to Noah's wishes.

"All right," Grace replied.

There was a smile on Noah's lips as he finally had the Grace he had been separated from.

Noah is the vice president of Cruise Enterprises. He has a fiancée who works as a designer, while Grace herself is one of the regular nurses at the Great Eden Hospital Center.

So, why does Noah want to marry Grace so badly?

It's because they were a very happy couple back when they were still in high school. The two separated after Grace's stepfather's accident, which was suspected to be deliberate on the part of Noah's parents, who didn't want their only son in a relationship with a poor girl like Grace.

Right after high school graduation, Noah was sent abroad for further education as the sole heir of the Blair family, who would later become the director of Cruise Enterprises. He returned after seven years and was engaged. Of course, that left Grace devastated.

"How much money do you need?" Noah asked.

"Five hundred million," Grace replied.

"Only such a small amount of money, but you didn't get a loan from anywhere?" Noah seemed to mock, saying, "I'll send it to your account right away, but after we get the official marriage certificate."

"If you're saying it's only a small amount of money, why don't you just let me pay off my debt without doing this marriage? You know very well that we can't get married, right?" Grace tried to negotiate.

"You're going to pay off the debt with your current small nurse's salary? What kind of nonsense is this, Grace? How long do I have to wait to get my money back?" Noah replied with a smile, "I don't need your money; I just need you by my side like you used to be."

"I'm sure you haven't forgotten about my promise to only love one woman for the rest of my life, and that's you."

Noah's eyes fluttered with love, and Grace could see it. But her mother's terrifying curse kept her aware that she could not repeat her love story with the man who took her virginity out of love.

"I accept this marriage." Grace's sentence cut Noah off and made him gasp.

Noah's lips trembled. He felt like jumping for joy and shouting that he had won. Yes, I won from Grace's high determination. But right now, he had to contain that excitement in front of Grace, who was still gloomy.

'Hold on, Noah. Save the euphoria for now,' Noah emphasized to himself. He cleared his throat and positioned his seat properly to continue his speech.

"Alright, let's go now."

Grace was stunned. "Leave? Now? Where are you going?"

"To the registry office, of course. We need to have a state-recognized marriage certificate."

"Right now?" Grace still couldn't believe it was this soon.

"Do we have to wait for the hospital to postpone your mom's surgery because you haven't paid the bill? I don't want to regret it because you might change your mind," Noah answered firmly as he stood up. He also extended his hand to Grace and said, "Come on, let's go now!"

Grace was still looking at Noah in confusion, but somehow her hand welcomed his.

Noah smiled very sweetly, his heart blossoming at Grace's answer. It didn't matter if it was a forced answer; the most important thing was that he had successfully married Grace. As for Grace's feelings for him after this, he was sure that their great love would rekindle over time.

"Can you let go of my hand first? Everyone here will see that I'm shy," Grace asked for one small thing.

"Shy? You're going to be my wife soon, right? They have to respect my wife, too." Noah objected slightly to having to let go of Grace's hand again.

"Not yet. We're not husband and wife yet!" Grace protested.

Noah sighed lazily, "Fine, I'll let this go. But when it's legal, you can't ask me to let go of your hand. Everything is already mine. Everything about you is mine."

Grace's face flushed with embarrassment at how shamelessly Noah had said that to her. His controlling attitude was still the same as before.

'Why be embarrassed? You're my girlfriend, honey! What's wrong with me that you'd be embarrassed if other people saw us holding hands?'

'We're at school, and we're still kids. Don't be stubborn like this, Noah. Let go of my hand, or I won't hold hands with you anymore."

'Okay, I'll let go... But when you become my wife, I won't listen to you about this stupid idea anymore. What if someone takes you? Then who will I be with?'

For a moment, Grace was lost in a daydream of the good old days with Noah. She smiled as she looked at her hand hanging in the air because Noah had let go of it.
