Gabriel’s POV

The morning came early, as though it didn’t want the night to last long at all. Or… could it be because I was in such a haste for it to arrive?

All through the night, I couldn’t close my eyes to sleep. Not even a brief slumber. The thought of the law catching up with me clung to my mind, frightening me down to the bone marrow. I just knew I had to act fast.

Eerie Lake wasn’t far from Green City. Though the two places belonged to different countries, nations had their ways of working together when it came to criminals hiding across borders, especially if that criminal needed to be brought to justice.

By dawn, as the pale light pushed its way into my room, my heart landed on a thought. And just like that, I knew I had to act on it immediately. This could very well be my life-saver.

I slid into my Cadillac Escalade and headed toward Sonya’s home.

Two hours earlier, before the morning sky had fully cleared, I’d called Junior. Every employee of Eerie Lake Maison Vivre had the

  • Marrying The Billionaire Who Healed Me   Chapter 176 Take Her Away

Adrian’s POVIf Sonya, who was in police custody, could still be murdered while under their watch, it meant only one thing: the person who had sent her had already made their move. And it wasn’t just a move. It was a dangerous one.But could he really do it? Could he actually want to murder his own sister? The thought burned in my mind, yet I couldn’t dismiss it.Without wasting another second, I walked briskly to the reception, making sure my pace was quick but not suspicious. My mind was alert, my steps calculated, because we never could tell what could happen in the space of a few minutes away from her. One wrong moment and the situation could spiral out of control. One thing I knew for certain—though I had no military training or background—was that if anyone ever wanted to hurt Eunice, they would have to go through me first. And I wasn’t the type to step aside.Deep down, I already had a strong suspicion of who might have done this to Sonya. If it was indeed her brother who had s

Adrian’s POVShe looked at me with patience in her eyes, her gaze steady, almost urging me to speak. I could see she wanted to hear what I had to tell her so badly it almost hurt to hold it in. But how could I possibly tell her that her brother, the man she considered family, someone she trusted implicitly, was behind all of this?I’ve always been a man with clear intentions. I wasn’t with Eunice because of her wealth, even if she was richer, more influential. After all, she was the Eunice Morgan, the richest woman whose name was on everyone’s lips. Anyone hearing what I was about to reveal, without understanding my side of the story, would think I was after her fortune. They would assume I wanted to erase her brother from the picture and have her sign the Eerrie branch over to me. But that wasn’t the case. I could only hope that when I spoke these difficult words, she would see the sincerity in my heart and not think otherwise.I took a slow breath. Accusing someone’s blood of someth

  • Marrying The Billionaire Who Healed Me   Chapter 174 News of Death

Adrian’s POVWithout much delay, I instantly connected the dots. The break-in by this woman named Sonya Blame at my babe’s office had Gabriel Stabley written all over it. The thought hit me like a dart to the chest. This wasn’t some random act. This was calculated.I didn’t waste another second. I picked up my phone and dialed Eunice’s number.“The number you are trying to call is not reachable, please try again later,” the robotic voice announced coldly on the other end.My stomach tightened. That mechanical voice told me more than any words could — Eunice was still in a compromised state. Whatever Sonya had done to her inside that office was still lingering. I couldn’t afford to sit back and wait.I called CEO Anderson immediately.“Hello, CEO, may I be briefed about the situation at hand?” I asked, keeping my tone polite but firm.“She is currently in the hospital,” he replied, his voice low but steady. “The sedation has been flushed from her blood. But right now, she’s too weak an

Gabriel’s POVFor a minute, there was silence so loud it felt like it could slice through the air and cut the ear off.Every beat of my own heart seemed amplified in that stillness, echoing in my chest. Then, out of nowhere, he burst into laughter, a deep, sudden explosion of sound that shattered the tension like glass.“I love that. You are a damn criminal to have been able to find us,” he said, his voice warm but edged with something sharper. He smiled as he curled his hand around my neck in a way that looked almost friendly to anyone watching, though we both knew we weren’t friends. Not even close.“Tell me, brother man, what do you want us to do for you?” he asked, speaking like we had known each other for years, as though the gap between strangers and allies could be crossed with one question.“You are not angry I found you on my own?” I asked. My voice stayed steady, but my hands betrayed me with a faint tremor, the kind you hope no one notices.“No!” His answer was direct, fi

Gabriel’s POVI rose to my feet, brushing my palms against my trousers as if the motion would shake off the weight of the conversation. “I should be going now. I just thought to come tell you this in person,” I said, my voice steady but clipped. He nodded immediately. He was a man, men are often expected to be stronger in the face of pressure, to hold their ground even in the most difficult moments. In times like this, they rarely crumble.Still, I couldn’t help but imagine a different scenario. If this had happened to his wife instead of him, if she were the one I came to see while he was the one being arrested, she wouldn’t be calm. She’d be crying, her voice breaking. She’d be screaming, clutching at me, refusing to let me leave so easily. She’d want to speak directly to the police, demand explanations, maybe even beg for leniency. But men… men usually aren’t like that.He walked me to the door. “Thank you for letting me know this, Sir. I really appreciate it,” he said, his tone po
