Eric stood by the window, his upright frame seemingly elongating from the light spilling in through the window.

It was as if an equator divided the world in two, half festive and the other half peaceful.

Footsteps sounded behind him, eventually pausing behind him. "The Grant boy is still right outside. Do we evict him?"

Eric narrowed his dark gaze at the man who stood over a hundred feet away, his face still bleeding. "No. Let him watch so that he'll actually give up."

Sean nodded. "You've always been the best when it comes to breaking the spirit."

Eric's cold visage was completely devoid of the warmth he had when looking at Rosalyn, his glare sharp and quietly menacing. "What else are the guests saying?"

Sean chuckled. "Who would even run their mouths now after what you said? Well, I'm sure they'll just talk behind your back despite not voicing their disapproval out loud.…"

Still, he trailed off and suddenly asked, "You have to prepare yourself now, after what Carl Grant did."
