Time passed quickly, and for months, Hannah dedicated herself to Alden’s recovery. She worked tirelessly at Texco, then accompanied Alden through his surgery, post-surgery, and therapy sessions. Hannah did all of this without complaint; in fact, she was enthusiastic about supporting Alden.

On the other hand, Alden, who found new hope, showed significant improvement. His attitude became much better, and he was very affectionate toward Hannah. To Alden, Hannah was a source of new strength every day.

People who saw their closeness felt it was a perfect love. Nothing could separate them.

Alden could now use a walking aid, though still with a slight limp. It was a rapid improvement since his surgery two months ago. Hannah was really proud of Alden's determination. However, one thing was still bothering her: she hadn't shown any signs of pregnancy.

Alden never brought it up, but Hannah often felt anxious about it.

The weight she had carried for so long had been lifted entirely, and she concluded that it felt like a miracle from God.Despite the doctor's suspicion that Summerhill's tests were flawed, Hannah didn't want to dwell on it. No more worries plagued her mind; now, she could focus on her new life and the baby growing inside her."Thank you, God," Hannah whispered with emotion. She quickly walked down the hospital hallway and headed outside. But she realized she didn't know where to go when she got there. Her phone was back in Elizabeth's apartment.Hannah remembered that it would be best to go to the front desk so they could contact Elizabeth. As she turned around, she accidentally bumped into someone.Hannah almost fell, but the man in the white lab coat caught her."Oops! Sorry!" the man quickly apologized. For a moment, Hannah and the man stared at each other. She

After leaving the hospital, Hannah said goodbye to Don and Juan because she could no longer work at the company owned by Susan's cousin. Hannah's decision to go abroad was final; she would travel with Elizabeth to Europe, where she would also seek treatment for her illness. As the private jet was about to take off, Hannah took a moment to video call Susan. Who knew when they'd see each other again? Hannah felt deeply indebted to her former secretary and close friend."You'll be fine," Susan said.Susan chuckled softly, her eyes filled with tears as she tried to hold back her emotions. Hannah did the same."Pray that I will recover from this illness, Susan," Hannah sighed, "and that I will be able to raise the child I'm carrying.""You will. You're a fighter," Susan nodded."You take care of yourself, too, okay?""We'll still keep in touch, right?"Hannah glanced at Elizabeth, who was sitting across from her. The elderly woman w

  • Marrying the Chairman in the Wheelchair   91. Silent Tears

After hearing Hannah's entire story, Joan felt a deep sense of empathy. Hannah had to bear such a heavy burden at such a young age. Now, the confusing part—Hannah, who was previously told she couldn't get pregnant and was suspected of having a severe illness, was suddenly diagnosed as pregnant.Even Joan couldn't believe it, but perhaps it was a miracle from God."You need to take another test in a big city, Hannah," Joan advised. "Your pregnancy is certain, but if you do have a disease, it needs to be treated immediately."Hannah remained silent, not saying a word."Do this for the baby you're carrying," Joan added."I don't want to go back to Arkapolis. Alden has already thrown me out. Why would I go back there?""But staying in Sunnydale isn't a solution either." Joan stared at Hannah intently. "Soon, the news of a billionaire's wife living here will become a huge rumor."Hannah bit her lower lip."I don't think Don ca

Don entered the hospital room and looked sympathetically at Hannah as she lay weakly on the bed. He walked over to Hannah, pulled up a chair and sat down beside her. Hannah gave him a bitter smile."Hey, Don. I'm sorry for all the trouble.""What are you talking about? I promised Susan I'd take care of you," Don sighed. "How are you feeling now? Any better?"Hannah nodded weakly."The lab results are in. You've been food poisoned. It's being investigated because the last place you ate was Abby's family's restaurant," Don explained."The food was fine, Don.""Someone deliberately put a laxative in your food, Hannah." Don sighed again. "Abby's father is furious because the evidence points to the last meal you ate.""But how is that possible?""That's why Abby's father is investigating who did it."Hannah didn't answer. She hadn't suspected anyone."I've been really worried about you, especially since you're pregnant

Anne's face was flushed, her eyes swollen from crying in frustration. Abby, sitting next to her, felt a surge of anger at seeing her younger sister so upset."Stop crying. I'll talk to Dad. Don't worry, I'll make sure Hannah gets what she deserves," Abby said, her tone seething.Anne immediately grabbed her sister's hand. "No, don't. Dad will investigate and it will turn out that I was wrong.""But Hannah's behavior was so rude! She's just a new employee; she should know her place."Anne nodded, "I'm afraid she's going to sway Don. You saw how he defended her immediately.""We need to get rid of her, Anne."Abby got up and began pacing her office.Frankly, it would be easy for Abby to get rid of anyone in the company. Several employees had been fired for insignificant reasons, mostly because they had crossed Abby. "Hannah is married."Hannah just smiled wryly. "Yes, I'm married. I wouldn't mess with your boyfriend.""Really? Then why are you working here?
