He would never feel something for a woman who used her beauty in exchange for things.

John realized that he could not control his emotions anymore and the desire in his eyes died down immediately.

He removed his hands away from her.

Propping himself up, he spat out three icy cold words, “You should go!”

It felt like an amnesty.

Natalie did not have time to sort out her emotions. She even forgot to wipe away her tears as she stumbled out of his car.

Looking at her fleeing as rapidly as her feet could move, John’s cold eyes darkened. He did not say anything for a long while.

She arrived home defeated. When she got into the house, her brother was already sleeping in his room. However, there were three test papers placed neatly on the coffee table.

She picked one up to have a look. Unsurprisingly, he got full marks for his language paper, mathematics paper, and also foreign language paper. He even scored full marks for the additional questions.

She signed the papers as usual before slumping on the floor.

Natalie did not dare to tell her brother that he had been asked to quit school. She only begged Director Zanders to give her one week to plead John. Director Zanders was also reluctant to let a top student like Howard Snowden go. Hence, he agreed without a second thought.

However, she was molested when she went and pleaded that bastard.

She wanted to give up since she knew she would never defeat that man. However, her brother was so smart. If he could not go to school because of her, how big of a sin would that be?

She felt agitated, and yet, she still had to find a way to do it. At her wits’ end, she decided to put down her pride and dialed old General Winters’ number.

This was not a good decision. It felt like she was deliberately complaining about him. But…

If old General Winters was the only person who could control John, then she would have to try even if he would misunderstand her.

The process of setting up a meeting went smoothly. They were going to meet tomorrow at 7 pm after work.

However, when it was almost time to get off work, a few heavily injured people were sent to the hospital after a car crash. They did not have enough people on duty so even though Natalie was just a houseman and was about to get off work, she was asked to help out at the operating theater.

When she got out of the operating theater, it was already 6:30 pm. Fortunately, the place that they were going to meet was near to the hospital. She almost ran her way there.

But in the end, she was still late.

She rushed through the door, gasping for breath and stopped in front of Old Master Winters. She did a 90-degree bow and apologized, “I’m sorry! I had to perform an emergency surgery.”

“It’s fine.”

When he saw that she was sweating from running all the way here, Old Master Winters grinned and waved his hand. “Sit down before you say anything.”

“Thank you!”

As soon as she sat down, a blue and white checkered handkerchief was handed to her. “Wipe your sweat first.”

Not a lot of people used handkerchiefs in this day and age. Natalie was hesitant and did not dare to accept it. “It’s alright. It won’t be good if I dirtied it.”

She waved her hand and said awkwardly, “I have tissue papers.”

The other party did not force her. He only smiled and asked, “You called me yesterday and said that you needed to see me urgently?”

When he mentioned this, Natalie’s face fell. “I’m sorry. I shouldn’t have called you so late at night.”

“It’s okay. You don’t have to be so courteous to me. Just get straight to the point. Why do you want to see me?”

Natalie, “...”

Old Master Winters liked girls who are nous and polite like Natalie. When he first met her, he felt that she was pleasant to the eyes. Hence, he had a plan to introduce her to his grandson, and that was why he had specifically asked her to be his doctor in charge.

He did not expect his good intention to turn into a dirty rumor.

He did not bother to clarify or correct them. He knew that the wolf had a winning game when the shepherds quarreled. He did not have that vile intention and hence felt that he did not need to say much.

He did not think that his lack of speech would cause so much trouble for this girl. Particularly, the biggest trouble among it was his darling grandson.

After knowing that John had made things difficult for Natalie, he decided to meet up with Natalie.

He did not expect Natalie to not say anything. She just told him it was a misunderstanding. But after a few days, she had called him to ask to meet again.

With the old master’s wisdom, it was not hard to guess what she had run into. However, he still needed to make sure if it was related to his darling grandson.

“Old Master Winters, I want to…” Ask you for a favor.

Before she could finish her words, a voice interrupted her rudely, “Grandpa.”

When she heard that, Natalie’s body tensed up. She felt uneasy immediately.

She did not have to turn around to know who that was. She wanted to run away. However, when she was about to do that, the frigid and tall man sat next to her.

While he was pressing up against her, he reached out his long arm and grabbed her by the shoulder. “Honey, why didn’t you tell me that you’re meeting grandpa?”

Natalie did not say anything. He got close to her face and said with a fake smile on his face. “It’s fine. No time like the present. I’ll just use this opportunity instead.”

“Son, why are you so frivolous? Let go of your hand.”

After he heard that, not only did John not remove his hand, but he also pulled the person in his arms closer to him. “Grandpa, this is my wife. What’s wrong with me hugging her?”

“Your wife?”

The old master’s tone of voice changed, but his grandson did not look like he was joking. The old man’s eyes dimmed. He looked at Natalie and asked, “Dr. Snowden, is this true?”

“Old Master Winters, actually…”

He knew what she wanted to say, so of course, he was not going to let her say it. He interrupted her, “Honey, why are you so scared? My grandpa won’t get mad because we got married.”

“You…”

They did get married and they really had gotten their marriage certificate. If she decided to deny this, then she would be lying. However, she was reluctant to admit this as well.

She stood up swiftly and said coldly, “Come with me.”

After she said that, she pulled him outside. When they were out of the door, she realized that she was holding his hand unconsciously.

Letting go of his hand, her face began burning up. “What are you trying to do?”

“What can I do?”

Natalie was rude, but he was ruder than her. “I’m obviously stopping you from complaining about me.”

“Do you think that I won’t dare to tell the truth to Old Master Winters just because you’re here?”

“I’m not thinking about that, but…”

He was dragging out his last word. He purposely did not say anything for a long time and got closer step by step to Natalie.

Natalie did not expect him to have that expression on his face, and she backed away subconsciously. However, he reached out his hand and trapped her against the glass door of the hotel and said, “Before I came here, I asked Greg to go to your house. I heard that your brother is usually alone at home when you’re not around.”

Hearing that, Natalie’s pupils constricted from terror. She said urgently, “Don’t you dare hurt Howie!”
