I saw the panic look on Fiona's face as I screamed with all my strength. I wasn't due for delivery yet. It's a new month and this is just 8 months, how come my water broke! My body feels like it is being ripped apart!
I gripped Fiona's hands tight as my legs were wide open and the pack doctor was in between my legs, saying the word, “You can do it, just a little more push.” I shook my head. My plan wasn't to deliver my child in Oakland Pack! My cub might be taken away from me. “Luna Summer, you have to push harder, this can't be your best…” The doctor said as the baby's head was now out. “I can't!” I cried. “Fiona, this pain might kill me, get it out of me, please.” I whimpered. I knew childbirth was painful but nobody told me it was this painful! The pain strikes every part of my body! “This is not good.” The doctor shook his head with worry on his face. He raised his head up at me, “You have to help me to help you. You have to push or you and the baby might….” The door swings open and a maid I recognize as Alexia's maid barged in. “Mr. Ben, you have to come with me, immediately. The Luna is in labor!” She said with an authoritative tone. The doctor didn't listen to her as he knew I was in a more critical condition, knowing I wasn't even due and I'm giving birth prematurely. “Huh? Can't you see he's in the middle of something?” I cried in shock. Alexia was also in labor? Wait… she is due and I wasn't. “It's not a request, doctor! It's an order!” Lara shouted. The doctor turned back to her, “She's giving birth prematurely, I can't just leave her like that, what if she dies…” She cut him short, “Orders are from the Alpha! Who would you rather help deliver their cub? A sex tool to the Alpha? Or the Luna of this pack?” She snapped and the doctor suddenly went mute. “Like I said, orders are from the Alpha, consider yourself lifeless if anything happens to his heir.” Isn't Miller aware that I'm in labor as well? Am I giving birth to a dummy? Isn't this his heir as well? Without hesitation, the doctor removed the bloody gloves in his hands and packed his stuff. Stunned, I said, “Are you seriously leaving me like this?” My legs were still wide open and my baby's head was the only thing out! “I’m sorry, Luna Summer… I promise to be back as soon as I’m done with her.” He said and hurried out with the maid. My world crumbled. I squeezed my face in pain. To think I wasn't even due and they had to do this to me like they wanted me to die! “Ahh!” I screamed and grabbed the sheets. “I guess it's up to me now. Push!” Fiona commanded as she got in between my legs. “Are you a midwife or something?” I whimpered. “It doesn't matter, right now. You just have to push so we don't lose you and the baby…I should be able to handle this.” She smiled with uncertainty in her eyes. It took a lot of screams and ‘push’ before I could hear the tiny cry from my child. Sweat rolled down my forehead as I rested my back on the bed. Exhaustion evident on my face. I had used the last strength in me to push this little angel out. Its cries were all I could hear in the room. “It's a girl, Luna Summer.” Fiona smiled as tears dropped from her eyes. Just then, the door swung open and Alexia's maid, Lara and 3 other women stormed in. Her eyes were red like she had been crying… why was she looking at my baby with a frown? One of the maids looked at me like she felt pity for me and turned to Lara, “What if she finds out and recognizes the chil…” “Be quiet!” Alexia's maid shut her up then turned to approach my baby. Wait… why was… she walking up to… my child? My body was weak but I tried to keep my eyes open…. It was getting quite difficult to keep them open. “Fiona, keep her away from my…” I said to Fiona as I saw Lara now carrying my child in her arms. Before I could stop her, my child was already in her hands and it got even harder to keep my eyes open, then I passed out. - As I opened my eyes, my blurry vision became bright. I looked around the room but there was no one in except me. Wait…. My baby! I raised my back from the bed and turned to see that my baby was sleeping quite peacefully in the crib made for her by me. I took a deep breath, knowing Alexia's maid didn't do anything bad to her after all. “Luna Summer.” I heard Fiona's voice as she walked in with a sad expression. She wiped her tears as she sat down on my bed. “You have to leave this pack. I mean now!” We had planned on escaping two weeks to my due date but I had no idea I was going to give birth prematurely. It ruined our plans but it's never too late. “Yes, but I'm too weak to try to escape. How long have I been sleeping?” I asked. Fiona hesitated, “About three hours now.” “That means, my daughter must be hungry, please bring her to me, I haven't touched her, yet.” Fiona shook her head at me, avoiding eye contact. “Fiona!” I called again. “Bring my daughter to me.” “We have to go, I promise, we will come back for your real child when the time is right.” Fiona packed most of my stuff In a bag pack with tears in her eyes. “What do you mean?” I stood to carry my child from her crib. I kissed her tiny hand softly, careful with how tender she is. But then, my lips felt cold after kissing her. I placed my hand on her cheek and my body froze! “My lady, please let’s go before the Alpha gets here.” Fiona tried to collect her from me but I objected. “Not yet! My daughter’s body is cold, bring some hot water… I’m afraid this isn’t good for her health.” I panicked but Fiona just stood there with pity in her eyes as she wiped her tears uncontrollably. “I’m sorry, my lady.” She whimpered. “Why are you sorry, Fiona? What’s wrong?” Tears rapidly rolled down my cheeks then my tears dropped on my daughter’s eyes and she didn’t blink or make a move. My heart broke and I quickly brought my lips close to feel the warmth of her breath but didn't feel anything, more tears continued to pour on her shawl. “No.. no.. this isn’t happening! Fiona, call the doctor, call Alpha Miller, I can’t feel my baby's breath. I think there’s something wrong!” I jumped, sat on the bed, stood up like I had lost it. “She’s dead, my Lady… let’s just get you out of here first. We would be back when the truth comes out. Please.” Fiona’s voice trembled.“We should be on our way in a few hours….” I heard a familiar voice say then I slowly opened my eyes. I scanned place before trying to sit up but I felt a little too weak to stand up. “Hey… don't force yourself… take it easy…” I knew that voice.I raised my head, then our eyes met.I felt a banging pain in my head, causing me to squeeze my face, my hand touching my forehead. “What the hell happened?” I asked, my voice could pass for a whisper.“What happened is we are going back to our pack.” Krazy announced with a stern look.“No…” I sighed, “The results…. The papers…” “You need a cold bath and good food first.” Krazy replied, carrying me into the shower. He gave me a good massage and the warm bath kinda brought my senses back. I felt good and sane now.I sat on the bed with my towel tie around my chest when he brought a bowl of pasta and beef sauce. “That's a lot.” I smiled before reaching for my fork, and without looking up at Krazy, I emptied the plate.“You want more?” He a
In less than two hours, I saw Miller giving my hair and little Becca's hair to the nurse. She smiled warmly before taking it and walking away.Alexia was having a discussion with Miller, and I could hear him asking if he was really the father and why did none of their blood match hers.Krazy had explained that it was going to take a few days to get the results and in truth? I wasn't trying to get my hopes up. I just wanted to be sure my child was truly dead and why it seems Alexia wasn't the mother, even if it is true that Miller was the father.“The car is ready…. We have to leave.” Krazy said to me.I shook my head, “Nah… I still have things to do at the castle with Miller. You can go back to Moonlight pack. I'll be back once I'm done.” I said to him. I didn't want him to know about the deal with Miller… at least not until he signs the divorce papers.“I can't leave you here…” “I insist. I can take care of myself.” I said to him before kissing and pulling away from him.I was glad
I knew nothing about science or how this thing works, and hearing this caught me by surprise, but I wasn't more surprised like Miller was.He was fuming. His eyes darkened as he turned to Alexia with so much rage.“What is he talking about? Is Becca not my child?! I made sure to do a DNA test when she was out of the incubator!” Miller grabbed Alexia's neck, trying to squeeze life out of her.“She's yours! The doctor is mistaken!” Alexia cried.“Creating a scene wouldn't work here. The sooner we get a blood donor, the better for your daughter… time isn't on our side…. We are losing her by the minute. I'm afraid if we don't get blood that matches hers on time…”“This is all your fault! You witch!” Alexia reached for my hair, pulling it with all her might, before slapping me hard on the face.“Ahh…” I cried as she pulled my hair even more as Krazy pulled me away and Miller pulled her away trying to set us apart but Alexia's grip on my hair was too strong. She dragged it like she wanted t
I didn't need a soothsayer to know who that voice belonged to. I swallowed hard, looking up at him, my eyes widening in shock. How did he find me? How did he know I was here? And when did he arrive to Oakland pack? I knew Moonlight to Oakland pack was a day journey. How did he get here?!“What are you doing here?” I asked, my heart pounding against my chest. He placed his hands on my stomach, with a satisfied expression, “Zero told me the symptoms you were having and I couldn't stay put knowing you had my hatchlings in you.” Wait, what?“Huh?” I asked with a stunned expression. What was he saying? “Summer….” Miller walked over to me, pulling me away from Krazy's hold. “We had a deal… stay away from rogues…” He forcefully grabbed me into his arms.I bit my lower lip, my heart racing as I saw the look on Krazy's face, while Alexia had this disappointed look.“Rogue?” Krazy let out a mocking laugh, “Hahaha! At least I can protect my woman!” He roared, dragging me back into his hands,
“You're indeed a witch, after all!” Alexia cried as Becca's blood rolled from her head, down on the floor. The guards started the car immediately then she placed her into the car as she cried.“I didn't mean to…” I tried to say but her hands collided with my face, causing me to stagger back in shock. “You have none, that's why you've chosen to kill mine! You witch!” She roared breathlessly. “Pray nothing happens to her!” She barked, pointing at the unconscious Becca at the back seat of the car.“Alexia, I’m sorry…I didn't mean to… can I at least come with you?” I pleaded, worry etched on my face as my eyes darted from the pool of blood on the floor then to the one dripping from the seat Becca was laying on.I promise I didn't mean to do that to her. I was only consumed by rage, and was trying to avoid the slap Alexia intended on giving me. The push was for her, I didn't know Becca was going to slip and fall from her hands.“Stay with me, Becca…. Please stay with mummy….” Alexia ignore
I swallowed hard the moment I heard that. I didn't bother looking up at Alexia, I could already feel the bloodthirsty aura from her. Without looking at her, I felt her looks almost ripping my skin out.If looks could kill, I'd be buried six feets by now. What was Miller thinking saying such to her? This would definitely cause a rift between us. She already hates me, why was he trying to fuel the hatred even more?He didn't want me to leave the Oakland pack in good health?“Kara and I would have to stay out while you go on trips with HER?” Alexia's eyes darkened.“I make the rules around here. And you know my position in and outside Oakland… I had an impromptu occasion and the Alpha of the pack we are going wanted my first wife with me. Now I don't need your permission to do that, do I?” Miller's voice was cold.I scoffed, crossing my hands around my chest. I was sure no Alpha asked for him to bring me along, and with the look on Alexia's face, I was sure she knew his words were all li
