~Nathan~

I watched Jane, her head resting against my chest.

Asleep.

Safe.

My arm stayed wrapped around her, holding her there a moment longer than I should have.

Feeling her body against mine, In just a few days, her wolf would awaken.

And everything will change, everything between us will more.

As I watched her sleep next to me, the more I didn’t want to leave her. But tonight was the night, and I’d have to leave soon and meet my father and the others at the Pack-house.

~Jane~ Morning light filtered across my skin as I slowly came awake, still half caught between sleep and thought. My thoughts didn’t stay in the present for long—they drifted straight into everything that had changed lately.I didn’t move right away. The quiet felt too full—like something was waiting just beneath it, breathing in rhythm with me.Something I couldn’t name, but couldn’t ignore either. My feelings for Nathan have changed in ways I never imagined they would.I kept circling the thought like it might finally give me answers if I looked at it long enough. But it never did. What I did know… was that I wasn’t ready to lose any part of this. And as I sat there, I could still sense him—less a scent, more a presence that lingered against my skin.Today was the day, and tonight when the full moon comes out she’ll awaken. My wolf will finally take over, and when she does I’ll be finding my mate. His scent will consume me in ways I can’t ignore, my instincts will take over and I’

~Jane~ The warmth of the morning sky hit my skin, as it gently woke me. I opened my eyes, I wiped the sleep from them. I continued to lie there in the sheets for a moment longer. My arm under the pillow as I held it close, my mind drifted back to everything that happened yesterday. Thinking about how everything had started to change.Like something beneath it all had shifted—and I could feel it.I couldn’t explain it.Only that whatever it was… it wasn’t small. And the worst part?I didn’t have a name for it.Maybe if I did… it wouldn’t feel so overwhelming. But I didn’t.And whatever this was, it hadn’t stopped. and thinking about Nathan. His presence lingered—deeper. Closer. Clinging to the sheets, pulling me back toward where he had been.My pulse stumbled, then picked up too fast as I drew in a slow breath.Whatever this was… it had deepened. Settled in a way I couldn’t ignore.I rolled over to my other side, facing the spot where he sleeps. I reached out, letting my hand rest

As I watched her sleep next to me, the more I didn’t want to leave her. But tonight was the night, and I’d have to leave soon and meet my father and the others at the Pack-house. I took a slow breath, giving myself a few more seconds. I slowly eased my arm from around her, careful not to wake her.I slipped out of the bed, and walked over to the other side. I stayed there a moment longer than I should have- taking in every part of her. She was quiet in sleep—unguarded in a way she never let herself be awake. And for a second, I just stood there… committing it to memory. Bringing a hand to her cheek, I brushed my thumb along her soft skin. And leaned forward and placed a small, gently kiss

  • Mate: Part Two   Chapter 9:

~Jane~ I step into the locker room with the others and go straight to my locker, grabbing my clothes without thinking.I slip into a stall, change quickly, then step back out—everything automatic, routine.Around me, voices bounce off the walls. Laughter. Easy conversation.Like nothing today meant anything at all.I tuck my clothes away and close the locker with a quiet click. Then I sit, bending to pull on my shoes.“Hey, Jane.”Jenny stops in front of me.I glance up. “Hey.”“You did amazing today,” she says, a proud smile tugging at her lips. “You’re finally letting your instincts take over.”“Thanks, Jenny. That means a lot.”And it does.I can feel the shift now.“I’ll see you next class.” “Yeah.” She heads out with the others, her laughter fading into the hall. I finish up and step out into the hall—Jay already waiting, like always.“Ready?” he asks. I nod, and we fall into step toward the main hall.As I reach the classroom, I spot Riley waiting outside the door.“Hey, J

~Jane~ I rest my head against his chest, my hands curling lightly into the fabric of his shirt. I’m not sure how much time has passed.Time feels… distant. Unimportant. All I can focus on is the steady rhythm beneath my ear.His heartbeat.Slow. Strong. Consistent.Something about it brings me peace—like it’s pulling me out of the storm inside my own head. For a moment, it almost feels like it’s beating for me.Like somehow… it was always meant to.My breath softens as I let myself sink into it, my body relaxing in his arms. And for a little while—everything else fades. The fear. The doubt. The questions I don’t have answers to.Not gone.Just quieter. His arms stay wrapped around me, holding me close like he hasn’t let go since everything we just said. The words. The promise in his eyes. It’s all still there.I want to believe it.More than anything, I want to trust in what he said. And part of me does. The part that feels it.My fingers tighten slightly against his shirt as I th

  • Mate: Part Two   Chapter 7:

~Nathan’s POV~The second she pulls me closer, my control gives way.Not all at once—but enough.Like I’ve been holding the line too long… and it’s finally breaking. The feel of her fingers in my hair, the way she presses into me without hesitation—It lands heavier than it should- deeper. The thought alone sends a surge through me, sharp and consuming, tearing through what little restraint I have left. She consumes me.The way she responds to me… the way her body softens, then ignites under my touch—it pulls at something I keep locked down.Instinct.Raw. Uncontrolled. My grip tightens on her hips, anchoring her against me as a low sound escapes my chest before I can stop it—rough, edged, too close to a growl.Koa surges forward instantly.Mate.The word slams into me- demanding. Absolute. It isn’t a thought. It’s a fact.Mine.I try to hold it back.I always do.But I can feel myself starting to fail. I force control into every movement, every breath, every touch—because if I don
