Chapter 32

Scarlett's pov

“What was that?” Nora asked me once I pulled open my door.

“What was what?” I squinted at her in confusion while she smiled brightly at me.

“Wait were you still in bed?” Nora stared at me in disbelief as she took in my appearance.

Dinner had gone on forever last night and even after the plates had been cleared we remained in our chairs, just talking and sharing stories.

“What do you think?” I quirked a brow at her, imagining the image I must have presented with my hair sticking out in different directions and my swollen face.

“How can you even sleep right now? I thought you would be giddy with excitement,” she commented and I stared at her in confusion.

“Excited about what exactly?” I inquired and Nora rolled her eyes at me as she plopped onto my bed.

“Silas, did you see the way he kept looking at you throughout dinner last night?” She revealed and heat flooded my cheeks.

“I don't know what you are talking about,” I muttered.

    Chapter 37Scarlett's pov"Did you go back to the garden?" Nora asked once I stepped into my room and I stared at her sprawled form on my bed."What?"     Chapter 35Scarlett's pov“I didn't mean to make him so upset,” I told Nora as we sat on my bed and as I stared at the book in front of me I felt no sense of accomplishment although I knew this was the first real step in the right direction.
