Chapter 31

Scarlett's pov

“One would think we were going to have dinner with a king Nora,” I commented as I stared at myself in the mirror.

“Silas is alpha and to this pack, he is as good as any king,” Nora replied with a shrug as she zipped up my pale pink dress.

“This looks so much better on you than it did on me,” She continued as she eyed me in the dress and I remained silent but I did agree with her.

The dress was a simple cotton that caressed my skin delicately, clung against my upper body, and cascaded softly from my waist all the way to my ankles.

“Now what to do with your hair,” Nora muttered as she led me to the chair in front of my dresser, and although I wanted to protest I knew it would be futile as nothing could stop Nora once she had set her mind to do something.

“All done,” Nora took a step away from me and I stared at myself in the mirror with parted lips.

    Chapter 37Scarlett's pov"Did you go back to the garden?" Nora asked once I stepped into my room and I stared at her sprawled form on my bed."What?" I asked confused and she gestured towards the rose in my hand."Oh, this? No, Asher gave it to me." I informed her and her eyes narrowed as she shot up from the bed and approached me."Asher gave you a rose?" She asked, her brows crunched in confusion and I nodded wordlessly."Why?"     Chapter 35Scarlett's pov“I didn't mean to make him so upset,” I told Nora as we sat on my bed and as I stared at the book in front of me I felt no sense of accomplishment although I knew this was the first real step in the right direction.
