Scarlett's pov

"I can't wait to see you in full bloom," I said to the rose which was still closed. I rose to my feet as I assessed the other flowers in the garden. There was just something soothing about being in the garden with the late evening breeze caressing your skin and the fresh air filling your lungs.

"What are you doing here?" A voice growled behind me and I stiffened.

"Alpha Silas," I slowly turned to him as my heart beat picked up pace. Why was I always coming upon him in the wrong places?

"I was just...that is, I wanted to make sure the flowers were alright," I said lamely as I stared anywhere but at him. I could feel Silas' stare on me as I shuffled on my feet.

"Nora mentioned you used to garden in your former pack?" He broke the silence between us and my eyes shot to his, surprised at his conversational tone.

"Yeah, I always loved flowers and something about watching them grow and bloom just filled me with peace." I informed him and he nodded slowly.
