LOGINWren's POV
The whispers had grown louder by the next morning. Every where I went, I saw group of people hurdled together whispering loudly. The whispers stopped when I got closer though, I had become the prime suspect just for being the last person seen arguing with Leslie. It didn't help that I was already an outsider for something they believed my parents did, Robin stayed by my side through it all. We were presently at the training grounds watching the men train. My eyes were fixated on a shirtless Caelum. His skin was tanned and golden, he had a full sleeve of tattoos on one arm. He was practically beating the shit out of the other guy, anger radiated off him. “He is very yummy, isn't he?" A voice said from behind me, I cut off the growl threatening to come out. “Hello Jessica." I smiled stiffly. Robin wasn't here to rescue me this time. "Relax tight pants, I'm not here to cause trouble." She walked towards me with an elegance that I was envious of. She looked as stunning as she did the first day, she wore a classy black skintight gown that only highlighted her curves. Her shiny blond locks was done in a simple yet elegant bun, she looked so graceful. “Is there something I can help you with or are you just going to stand there and ogle my mate?” I asked in a bland tone. "Feisty.” She purred. “What do you want Jessica?" I wasn't in the mood to play games with my mate's sexy and stunning ex girlfriend. “Fine, but you're no fun. I guess I came to give a little reassurance.” Her face turned serious as she continued. " I'm not after your mate, Wren. What Caelum and I had was even less than a fling. The moon goddess gave him to you and I respect her too much to stand in the way of that. So you can sleep easily knowing that nobody is going to target your man.” She smirked. I had to admit, it felt like a burden was lifted off my chest. Suddenly, smiling at her became easier. “I have to admit I thought you would be like those delusional blondes I hear about a lot, clinging to someone that's not theirs.” She scoffed and flipped her shiny hair, “Please, that's so tacky besides you need someone in your corner. And I know that coming between mate is like coming in between night and the darkness.” "Not day?” I asked, puzzled. "Nah, not unique enough.” She winked humorously. “That makes sense." I laughed, a brown haired lanku guy came over to meet us. “Hello Lucas." I smiled warmly at him. Lucas was another person that I had befriended in the pack. He was quiet and shy with a sharp sarcastic tongue that I loved. “Luna, weirdo." He greeted Jessica and I. She stuck her tongue out at him. “Nerd, I'm out of here Wren before I catch nerditis. I’ll see you around.” Without another word, she turned and left. It almost seemed like she running from him. Something clicked in my head. “You two hooked up, didn't you?" I asked, amused. “W-what? No! I-i don't know what you're talking about. What's a hook up?” He spluttered. "That was a little too much on the whole playing dumb idea.” I grinned at him. He sighed and readjusted his glasses. "Well, yes, we did hook up but you can't tell anyone about it, we both can't handle the teasing.” He pleaded earnestly. "Don't worry, my lips are sealed." I mimed zipping my lips and throwing away the key. "Thank you.” He looked relieved. “If it counts, you two would make an adorable couple." I teased, hitting his shoulder with mine. He blushed bright red and adjusted his glasses again. “I didn't know we were growing a tomato on Lucas's head.” Robin teased as she jogged towards us. Her her was purple today and it looked really pretty. I laughed at the comment she made about Lucas face and he turned even redder. It was very adorable to see, then it occurred to me that I hadn't seen Robin all day “Hey, where have you been? It's been ages since I saw you.” I asked playfully, although part of me was genuinely curious. "Did you miss me? I know you did!" She squealed and tried to hug me, I dodged and gently pushed her to Lucas who patted her head awkwardly, she beamed at him. Sometimes I thought instead of a wolf, Robin had a golden retriever inside her. She was just all fluff. “Seriously, where we're you?" I was really curious, a shadow of something dark passed through her eyes so quickly, I thought it was my imagination. “I was just setting some girls straight." She absent-mindedly picked at her thumb. "You got into a fight?” I asked, incredulous. “Well, I wouldn't call it a fight. They just made me so mad with what they were saying about you and your parents–” o cut her off sharply. “Wait, what did they say about my parents?” She winced and bit her lips, I saw Lucas shoot her a sharp look. “Uh–" she started but I cut her off again and held up my hand. “If you're going to lie or change the topic again, don't bother. I know everyone has been keeping something about my parents from me.” I looked at them in expectation. There was a moment of silence as both of them tried to avoid my gaze. Lucas was the first to break, he sighed. “Look Wren, it's not that we don't want to tell you, it's that we can't, literally we can't. Well, we could but that would be going against Alpha Caelum's orders.” I growled in frustration, I wanted to push but that wouldn't be fair to Lucas and I didn't want to make the people under Caelum's care to disobey him. Robin continued with a frightening blank look, “If you really want to know, ask Alpha Caelum. Ask him what truly happened 15 years ago.”Wren's POV White walls, white ceilings. Those were the first things my brain registered when I opened my eyes. The second was the sharp throbbing wave of pain that seemed to push through me every minute. The third thing I registered was the warm, soft hand gripping mine. The hand was connected to a sleeping Caelum reclined uncomfortably on a seat.Goddess, the lights are too bright I thought. I winced and tried to move my other arm cover my eyes but my body protested with pain. I groaned, the sound woke Caelum up.He was by my side immediately,“Wren? You're awake! How do you feel? Do you need anything?” I guess he noticed how I squinted from the light because he turned a knob to dim the lights.I could finally open my eyes,“I feel like I was run over by a truck. A really big truck carrying loads of cement.” My voice was raspy like I hadn't used it in days and my throat felt really dry.Caelum brought over a glass of water and guided the straw into my mouth,”Careful now.” I slowly sip
Wren's POVI barged into Caelum's office slamming the doors shut behind me. I was beyond mad, I had reached my tipping point. Half of the anger drained away when I saw how his eyes lit up when he saw me.The date we had changed something, as much I didn't want to admit it. We had been sending each other shy smiles and he had been giving me a lot of winks which made me blush like a school girl, it always made his chest puff up with pride afterwards.I knew that what was about to go down would alter things but it didn't stop me.“Hi." He smiled boyishly at me and gave a short adorable wave.I looked at him, truly looked and realize that many people would see the tattoos, the lithe body, the white hair, the piercings, the cold yet powerful violet eyes and wouldn't realize of how much of a softie the Crimson Alpha actually is.I knew of his blood crazed side and though I hadn't seen it yet, I couldn't conceal the two sides of Caelum together.“We need to talk." For all my rage, my voice c

Wren's POVBeware the love interest….I was slowly going out of my mind, everytime I closed my eyes, all I could see was the image of the bright blue wrapper with red hearts. It was haunting me.My ears were ringing and I could feel arms moving me, voices were trying to talk to me but I wasn't processing any of it.The next thing I knew, I was in a place with lilac walls. My room, my brain sluggishly supplied. Astrid was silent, I guess she also felt the weight of what we had done.I killed someone. Me. I killed Leslie. The ringing in my ears were getting louder and my legs felt numb.“I’ll be back." I heard someone say and the door was shut. Leslie's blood was on my hand, I'm a murderer. Hysterical laughter bubbled out of my and soon, they turned to ugly, heaving sobs. What would the pack do when they found out? I was scared, I was guilty and I was alone. The door opened again and I felt warm gentle hands on my shoulders. I lifted my head up from where it was between my knees, it wa
I was reading the blurb of a book I had picked out of a shelf when I saw a pair of black Italian leather shoes approach me. By the unique smell of rain on earth, I knew it was Caelum.“Let's go on a date." His deep voice whispered in my ears, his breath was minty and warm as it fanned my face. A sliver of pleasure passed through me and I shuddered.“Excuse me, why would I want to go out on a date with you?" My voice came out husky even to my ears and I sounded breathless. Get a grip of yourself, I thought. His eyes darkened and I saw his gaze linger on my lips which were parted. I knew my pupils were dilated in pleasure and my breath came out in pants.I hated him for being attractive and I hated myself for being even more attracted to him.“You owe me, don't you think?" He murmured, one hand came up to hold my jaw. Sparks ignited at the point of contact between our skin and I fought the moan that wanted to escape.I knew that he was talking about the poisoned muffin. I shifted my ga
I snuck down the hallway, looking for the weapons room that Robin had shown me earlier. I found it at the end of the hallway and quietly creeped in after making sure that was no soul in sight.I browsed the shelves, looking for something in particular. I found it sitting pretty in the midst of some pretty daggers. A bottle of cyanide.I smiled gleefully as I grabbed the small bottle, taking with it a small dagger with intricate design and a pretty emerald gem on the handle. I pocketed the dagger.I went over the plan in my head. I had bought a blueberry muffin earlier in the market, something I know Caelum couldn't resist. My ears scanned for noises as I carefully used a needle to withdraw the cyanide. My heart was beating incredibly fast as I slowly inserted the cyanide into the muffin. A part of me was screaming that it was wrong but this was something I had to do.Once I had finished, I quickly replaced the bottle of cyanide and silently, I made my way out of the weapons room, car
