Mag-log inI walked in and the whole room fell silent. I could feel various eyes on me, I had the urge to run back to my room but I was not a coward, not after everything I've been through.
I held my head up high, making sure to not meet anybody's gaze. I didn't want to see the looks of disgust and disdain soon. Whispers and mocking laughters reached my ears but I was determined not to let them get to me. “What is such filth doing here? Surely, the rumors of her being alpha’s mate aren't true?” a girl said. I made the mistake of looking at her, her eyes held so much venom, I faltered in my steps. Let me out, let me make an example of her Astrid growled. They aren't saying anything that isn't true I whispered to her. We are worthy of Caelum, Wren she said, her voice firm. He isn't worthy of us, I replied. She fell silent. I saw an empty seat and I walked hurriedly towards it, eager to get out of the spotlight. I placed my hands on the chair, about to draw it out. “This seat is taken." A smug high-pitched voice said. The owner of the voice was a 16 years old with dark hair. I could see the intent to humiliate me in her eyes. “Everyone is seated." I gritted my teeth, annoyance coursing through me. “In case it wasn't clear, I don't want you here. I don't even want you breathing the same air with me.” Her voice was dripped with contempt. I’m going to bitch slap this chick I thought, my palms itching in anticipation. A hand on my arm shook me out of the angry haze that was beginning to cloud my brain. “I leave you for how many minutes and you’re about to cause a scene.” Robin came to my rescue. We had split earlier when a friend of hers caught her attention. She forcefully dragged me away from the girl who smiled at me smugly, I growled softly. “You have to understand, Wren, these people are waiting for you to cause a scene, to prove them right that you don't belong here. You can't give them that satisfaction.” Robin warned once we had found seats. " She started it.” I knew I sounded petulant but I couldn't help it, I knew she was right though. Robin gave me a dry look, her lips curved in amusement. The door opened once more and my mate walked in majestically. His white hair tied up in a small bun that only enhanced his high cheekbones and his angular jaw. His smooth skin was sweaty and he had a towel around his neck. From the looks of it, he just came back from a run. I could feel Astrid drooling and I wasn't far behind. This isn't fair, how am I supposed to resist him when he looks like this? I whined to Astrid. His eyes scanned the hall till they fell on me, and from where I was, I could see the hint of a smile playing on his lips. There was something that bothered me, the last time I saw Caelum, his hair was as black as sin but presently, it was white and it didn't look like a dye job. “Robin, do you know why Caelum's hair turned white?” I asked her, absent-mindedly playing with my food. “Alpha Caelum? His hair has always been white." I could see the look of curiosity she was giving me but I ignored it. That means his hair turned white a really long time ago, probably while he was still a child. I turned my gaze towards the thorn in my flesh again, I saw him picking out extra chocolate muffins. He still had a sweet tooth, I thought, a smile creeping up on my lips. The smile quickly fell away as I remembered our circumstances. This wasn't good, he was already worming his way past my defense, my lips twisted in disgust. I couldn't wait till he falls for me any longer, I had to kill him now. A wave of anger washed over me as I watched him laugh with one of the men that had come in with him. Why does he get to laugh and be happy while I'm still stuck in the past, I asked Astrid. My heart squeezed painfully as I thought of my parents. I had to kill him now, I couldn't wait any longer. A plan formed as I watched him eat more than half of the chocolate muffin in just one bite. Why not go with the usual cyanide? I smirked. “What do you have planned today?" I asked Robin. She chewed thoughtfully. " I was thinking I'd show you around the pack.” She answered after she had swallowed. Perfect,I didn't even have to ask, I thought. A girl stood up abruptly and slammed her hands on the table. I flinched at the loud sound. The hall became quiet. “I can't take this anymore! I can't sit here, in the same space, with her.” She pointed at me, I rubbed my forehead in frustration. I was getting tired of all the drama. “Have you forgotten what her family did to me? To us all?” She whispered, tears welling up in her eyes. I was confused and beyond angry at this point. “What my family did? My innocent parents didn't do anything and they were killed by your former Alpha!” I screamed at her. Her mocking laughter rang throughout the hall. “You don't know, do you? What your precious parents did.” She sneered. " That's enough!” Caelum roared. His violet eyes glittered with fury. “Leslie, I want not a single word out of you on this matter. You're not the only one that lost something or someone.” He growled at the girl. Leslie hung her head in shame. He stood up abruptly and left the hall, his body taut with anger. Leslie hurriedly walked out of the hall shortly after. I looked around as people began to leave the hall, murmurs filling my ears. Uncertainty filled me, what just happened? Robin touched my arm. “Are you okay?” She asked, concerned. " My parents were innocent, I know they were.” I didn't know who I was trying to convince between both of us. " Of course.” She murmured, a sad light coming into her eyes. Weren't they? I thought……Wren's POV Today was the day I had been waiting for, the day I had been planning for, the day I become the official Luna of the Black moon pack. To say that I waa anxious was an overstatement, anxiety was pouring out of every pore in my body and I felt like I was seconds away from an anxiety attack. The ceremony was in the night and it was still morning. Jessica, Robin, Emily and I were at the mall looking for a white dress for me because as meticulous as I was while planning the ceremony, I somehow managed to get myself a dress.Normally, the former Luna would be the one to plan the ceremony but the former Luna was dead because of something my parents did so I had to plan it myself, it came long quite nicely for a first attempt at planning. Now, we've been walking for hours, going from shop to shop looking for the perfect white dress. Caelum suggested that I wear his mother's dress, I told him that if I did that, a mob will lynch me and roast me over a bonfire.“My legs are killi
Wren's POV “Red. Red please. Red, I'm sorry.” Caelum has been apologising for the past one hour but I was ignoring him, he was in the dog house for now. My cheeks still burned from the mortification I felt downstairs. “Red, you can't ignore me forever. “ He said exasperated, watch me, I thought. We were in his office, he was working on some alpha documents, I was trying to plan my mating ceremony so we were both busy which was why I didn't understand why he kept apologising. It wasn't until I looked up and I saw soren working diligently on the documents Caelum was supposed on.Poor soren, may the force be with him, I thought. “Red.” At no response from me, he sighed and stood up, I looked at him curiously, he continued, “come on, I have something to show you.” I stood up, curiosity making me forget I was mad at him.“Oh, are you going to show her that thing?” Soren voice reached our ears from where we were already at the door.“Yup but you cannot come with us because you have wor
I woke up very exhausted to see caelum smiling down cheekily at me, I blushed deeply and the blush grew even worse when I realized that I was naked. With a squeal, I brought the duvet above, just stopping when I reached chin length. “I don't understand why you are covering up, I have already seen everything.” Caelum said with an amused look on his face, I glared at him but my face was as red as a tomato. I held on to my duvet stubbornly. “Who knew you were a screamer?” He said thoughtfully, at the rate at which he was going, my face would never stop being red. “If our door wasn't sound proof, people would think I was murdering you.” He continued, giggling, the pervert. “It's not my fault, it was mind blowing, I think at one point my mind was literally blown.” I glared at him but that only made him smile smugly.“I think that was around your sixth or seventh orgasm.” He said still with that stupid attractive smirk. His eyes darkened with lust as they roamed my body. “Damn…how sore
Wren's POV “You! Of course, of all people, it had to be you I would meet here, it makes so much sense.” I scoffed, a burning fire in my eyes as I directed a cold glare Melissa's way.“Wren–” She started but I cut her off.“And to think everyone, especially my friends and caelum, were trying to convince me that you were harmless. I mean it's not enough that you tied him down with a son, you want to take the Luna position too? Things that I, his true mate, should have had with him first! You are just a sneaky green snake and I'll crush you under my heel if you get in my way.” My tone was icy and frigid, I fell into a defensive stance. She faceplamed, “I can't believe I came here all the way to hear this stupid shit. Caelum owes me big time for this, I was only going to request a small favour but I changed my mind and if it weren't because Caelum is still a good friend, I would have actually fought you and made sure you lost.” She glared at me, trying to cover up the hurt she felt at my
71Wren's POV Two men entered the tent that I was kept in, their faces were unfamiliar, I didn't think I had seen them in the pack before but then again, I didn't know everybody yet. My boy tensed as they moved closer but I made no move against them.“Luna, we were asked to escort you to the starting point.” One of them said, he had a nice deep voice, it was a shame that he was only escorting me, my cheeks burned with mortification at that thought, I had a mate!I only nodded and walked out of the tent, not caring to see if they were following or not but by the sound of their footsteps, they were right behind me.“Luna.” The one with the nice voice called, I hummed to show that I was listening. He lowered his voice down to a whisper, “Mr A sends his regards, he wishes you all the best and says to remember not just to fight smart but fight dirty as well.”So the mysterious Mr A had people even in Caelum's pack, this was my chance to find out who he was.“You know who he is right? Tel
Wren's POV I snorted and closed the door gently behind them, “of course he did, he is not mannerless, he understands that what he did was wrong and he apologised, it's as simple as that.” The girls were still looking at me like I was sprouting out wings.I rolled my eyes, “come on guys, it's not so much of a big deal.”“Uh wren, it actually is. Alpha caelum doesn't apologise, like never, well probably because the people he offended would not be alive anymore. So yeah, this should actually go down in history.” Robin said, her face full of amazement.“You girls are being dramatic.” I laughed, they looked at each other and shrugged.“If you say so.” They said in unison. There was an awkward silence as we remembered that things were strained between us at the moment. It made me wonder why they came in the first place, it was easy for me to forget that I was not on good terms with them because of how close all of us were.Robin broke the silence, “I can't take this anymore! Wren, we are r
Wren's POV Caelum and I sat in front of the elders, hand in hand, the idea was to present a united front and also to keep Caelum calm. He kept staring them down, his eyes flashing between the black eyes of his wolf and his normal violet eyes.We had been sitting here for almost 20 minutes in silen
Wren's POV “It might not be what you think, please wren, keep calm.” Dane advised, panic dancing around in his eyes. I sat down on a cushion, my mind was a whirlpool of thoughts, my heart was racing and it felt like I couldn't breathe. Thoughts were flying around my head and it felt like a heavy w
Wren's povI grunted as I dragged the heaps of clothes towards the window. One thing caelum adored was his clothes, it was evident in the way he dressed and the fact that his closet was bigger than mine. I noticed brands upon brands, none of them cheap and I smiled evilly. “Red, what are you doing
Wren's povI took a deep breath and exhaled shakily, anxiety and dread filling my veins. My heart pounded at the thought of what could happen in the next minutes. I was standing in front of I and Caelum's room, my hand poised above the doorknob, ready to open. I would either leave this place in pea
