"Is she O.K.?" I hear a concerned male voice say before I open my eyes.
Taking a minute because of this steady heavy pounding in my head, I slowly open my eyes and wish that I hadn't. The pounding suddenly gets twenty times worse and I feel like the very first time I turned into my wolf form, except for there isn't any good side to this. When I try to open my eyes again, I open them only a little so I see a slight bit of light. It seems to help my agonizing headache to an extent.
Realizing that it was the doctor's voice, I gradually open them more till I can see where I am and who is next to me. I turn to my left side where Eric is standing and look down to see that Ryder is nowhere to be found. So I ask, "Did you kill him?"
He lowers his head, so he can whisper in my ear, "No, but I should have killed both of you. I know something happened between the two of you while he was protecting you. When you
"Look out!" I shriek, before the rogue closes in on us."Stop right now." Eric commands the rogue right in front of him and slices clear through his shoulder.Hearing bones breaking, I instantly know that he has just ended the rogue's life directly in front of him and is now working on another one. When I see the blood spraying all over the snow, I know that he is soon to be dead too. I on the other hand am in combat with a rogue twice my size and no matter what I do I can't hit him.Slashing him in the leg, I am a bit surprised that he doesn't even flinch when the blood starts to spurt from it. It's almost as if he feels no pain. Watching him, I wait for my next move to connect. Finally, I shred his abdomen and a shocked look registers the pain on his face. However, the next thing I know I am on the ground with blood in my mouth. When I see him, it's too late and he bites
I wake up in the doc's room with Eric holding my hand. Still not awake, I can tell that he is already going to wake up with a sore neck and wish that he had slept in the other bed last night. Carefully removing my hand from his, I try to get out of bed and discover that I am still in pain. My side feels like it has a couple stitches in it and when I pull up my shirt, I see why. On my side, there are stitches where a big gash about 3 inches long lay that had been ripped open. The incision looks really red and it begins to concern me before the doctor walks in. "Oh, yes. You are awake Raven. I am so glad you are, because I have to tell you something before Alpha Eric here wakes up." He says softly and extends a hand to help me out of bed. "Come with me, if you would." Watching him carefully, I wait for him to continue, curious of what he needs to tell me out of ear shot of Eric. Sitting down on the couch out
“No!” The very first thing Eric does before he leaves the doctor’s office, is to cry out. We have been through so much and now that he was promised his heirs, I can tell it is crushing him to know that there is a problem with them. If he only knew the real issue, he wouldn’t be so heart broken. Instead, he would probably rip my head off. He talks to the doctor further before we walk back to the pack house and then to our bedroom, because the doctor told us that we will have to find her before it is too late. In another month if we don’t do something, he probably will have to terminate. Knowing Eric, that is not even an option and then he will find out the truth and my pups will be dead anyways. Eric will never let Ryder’s pups come to pass, because that means he would let an heir from another alpha possibly take over after him. Impossible, he will say and that is what I am afraid of. Losing them now would ruin me, but
“Not now, what are you doing?” I hear Eric screaming at someone in the next room before I open my eyes. Slowly opening them, they hurt from crying all night and feel puffy. I run my fingers over my lids, and they feel oversized. “Great! Not only do I have to worry about being beheaded but dying while looking like I am having an allergic reaction.” I murmur under my breath and pray that Eric doesn’t hear me. I hear a door slam before I get off the bed and then Eric slams our bedroom door open with so much gusto that it almost knocks the door off its hinges. Looking up at him, I ask cautiously, “Is there something wrong?” I decide to pretend that I am innocent and have no idea why he is upset. He furrows his brow before looking straight at me and demanding, “Get out of bed, you know full well why I am mad.” Curious, I continue the conversation. I figure if I am to die today, I might as well get a rile out
"Smash" "Crash" "Bang" I wake up to numerous sounds coming from downstairs. Scared that something bad has happened, I climb out of bed and throw my robe on before dashing downstairs. “What on earth?” I cry out when I see the devastation before me. Eric turns around and says, “This is unsatisfactory. I told them to redecorate a certain way and it is not what I wanted. Now it must be done all over again. If you want to do something the right way, do it yourself.” He shakes his head before storming out of the house, leaving the door wide open. I feel the brisk winter air, and a shiver runs down my spine before I reach the door to close it. Looking out, I scan the area for Eric but don’t seem him and shut it promptly. As I climb the stairs on the way back to my room, I recall the other day when Eric and I had a fight that was horrendous. It is just too bad that when the witch fixe
“Crash” I wake up out of a sound sleep to hear the breaking of glass and then I feel something hit me with a force that I have not felt in quite a while. Throwing me clear off the bed, the explosion hits me so hard that I feel like someone is beating me with a baseball bat before it stops. Hitting the wall on the other side of the room, I wince in pain because my arm is bent clear behind my back. Struggling to move, I cry out for anyone to hear me and when no one comes, I try to get up and can’t. I look down to see why and quickly try to assess the situation. The bed has shattered and is on top of me and a part of the outer wall has collapsed, pinning me against it. Scanning the rest of my body, I see where the main problem lies. My leg is crushed under the main support beam for the bedroom, it had to have come down when the explosion ripped the room in two. Following it up further, I see where it has pierced my skin
Feeling a bit groggy, I wake up to hearing a clanging noise next to me and as I open my eyes, I scan the room for anything that would be making it. When I see Eric sleeping next to me in a chair and he is shaking from a bad dream, I instantly yell out to wake him. “Eric, wake up.” Spooked, he jumps out of his seat and stands up straight but with his feet posted a couple feet apart, ready for a fight. He frantically glances around the room and when his eyes finally land on me, he calms down. “What is it?” He asks still jittery from being woken up out of a sound sleep. “You were having a bad nightmare and you were shaking so bad that you rattled that metal pan over there.” I point to the pot on the bed stand next to me that is holding a roll of bandages, a scalpel, and a few other things. “Oh, sorry. I didn’t realize it. I must have been so sound asleep that it was hard to wake up. Sorry.” He walks o
"Waaaah" "Waaaah" I hear my pups crying in chorus from the next room as I wake up in Eric's warm and comforting arms. Not wanting to wake him, I lay there for a minute longer till I can't take it anymore. Opening my eyes, I struggle to free myself of his grasp and then slide off the bed and find my hungry babies. When I open the door to the room next to me, an explosion of sound fills my ears. The pups are all so hungry and the poor nurse as I look on is scrambling to try and feed them goat milk till, I could come. Apparently, it is not enough for them because they still cry out in hunger. As she turns to see who is coming, I watch as a smile of relief turns her frown into happiness and her eyes light up as she asks, "Are you ready for this one?" Not having names yet, the pups all stare at me and my breasts hanging low with milk in them yearning for their hungry lips to suckle on. When I sit down and w
