THE PAST. REAGAN'S POV. “So, where are we going?” Eric asked me as we pulled out of pack grounds. “It's just down the road, I'll tell you when to stop.” I tell him and he nods his head and continues driving. “Can I ask about him?” He asks me. “Who?” I ask him. “Your husband.” He says and I smile. “You know you're the first person to call him that.” I tell him. “What do you want to know about him?” I ask him. “Is he a good man?” He asked me. “Yes he is.” I tell him. “Then that's all that really matters.” He tells me. “Yeah, if only it were that simple. You can drop me here.” I tell him and then he pulls the car to a stop. “I don't see your car.” He says and he has a confused look on his face. “Yeah, you can't see it from here, but I can walk the rest of the way, thanks for the ride.” I tell him. “Wait.” He says and I stop opening the door and turn around to face him.
THE PAST.REAGAN'S POV. I wake up the next morning with a headache, probably because I cried myself to sleep. Anyway I pick up my phone and I see that I have a missed call and a text from Oscar, I open my call log and I see that he resaved his name to hubby and it brings a smile to my face but at the same time it breaks my heart. I reply his message that I'm awake and I wait a few minutes to see if he'll read it but he doesn't, he's probably not with his phone. I get up, take of my clothes and head into the shower, I let the hot water wash over me for a few minutes and then I scrub my body and wash my hair and when I'm done, I step out. I take my time getting ready today, I blow dry my hair and then I put the products in and then I straighten it, because I know that's how Oscar likes it. Next I put on a crop top and pair it with a pair of carry jeans and of course sneakers. I put on some mascara and lip gloss and I'm good to go. I think to text Oscar that
THE PAST. OSCAR'S POV. The next day I'm up by five, which is an hour earlier than I normally get up, I don't know why but I had this gut feeling that something was wrong. I called Reagan immediately and she didn't pick up but then she's usually still asleep by this time so I text her to call me when she's up. I put on my joggers and then I go for a run to clear my head, by the time I got back home yesterday, dad was asleep so we didn't talk. I know that he and Reagan talked last night and they both told me multiple times that all they did was talk so why do I have tjis grave feeling in my chest that something bad is about to happen. I run for about an hour and half before I make my way back into the house and I run into Maya, who looks shocked to see me. “You're up early.” She observes. “Yea, I couldn't sleep.” I tell her as we bite make our way to the kitchen. “Why? You worried about Reagan?” She asked me. “Not really, I just have this f
THE PAST. REAGAN'S POV. As Oscar drives us back to my place, I think I've done a good job convincing him that everything is fine, when in reality my heart is breaking in my chest. I know what I need to do but I told his father to give me a week, just a week to enjoy the little time that I have left with him before I have to say goodbye to him forever. “Here we are.” He says and I didn't even realise that we were here yet. “Let's do something tomorrow.” I tell him and he smiles. “I like the sound of that, what do you have planned?” He asked me. “Maybe we could go see a movie and we'll see where the day takes us from there.” I tell him. “Ok, should we meet at the cabin?” He asked. “Yeah, I still need to pick up my car.” I tell him and I'm about to open the door to leave but then he grabs my hand. “I know things are still not good with your dad, but at least we now have my dad on our side so that's a start right?” He asked me. “Yeah
THE PAST.OSCAR'S POV. “Will you stop pacing, dad isn't going to murder her.” Maya tells me as she sits on her chair, still eating, for someone so small I don't get how she eats so much, she says she's still a growing girl, I remember the first time she said it, it made me and dad burst out in laughter for minutes. “I know he isn't going to murder her, but he can still hurt her in other ways.” I tell her. “Look, he was on his best behavior during dinner and you and I both know he wasn't pretending, I'm sure he just wants to talk to her and get to know her without you hovering over her shoulder.” She tells me. “Yeah, you're right, I was actually shocked he was so nice to her. I didn't know me bringing up mom was going to affect him the way that it did.” I tell her as I finally stop pacing and drag out a chair and sit down. “Yeah, he was never able to say no to her, even in death she still has that power over him.” She says and the wistfulness in her tone
THE PAST. REAGAN'S POV. “So Reagan, tell me about you, my son has told me a little, but I think he's biased seeing as he's in love with you.” Alpha Ar'Sanin says. “Well, there's really nothing much to tell, I'm the only child of my parents so ever since I was able to walk, I've been taught how to fight, and all the histories, I was home schooled, didn't really get out much.” I tell him, sticking to the basics, he doesn't need to know the fight going on in my family. “That's very impressive, they aren't a lot of female Alpha's especially in these parts.” He says. “Yeah, I know that.” I tell him. “So if you were home schooled and you never got out much, how did you and my son meet?” He asked. “Well I did leave the house, I wasn't a prisoner and one day while I was out, two men decided not to take no for an answer and I took them down, I didn't know that Oscar was on the other side of the road watching everything go down, according to him taht was when
