“Are you fucking kidding me?!” I exclaimed springing from my chair in an instant, my parents watching as I paced the kitchen, anger in my step. “Mind your language in my house.” My father warned me with a pointed look, but I could only scoff a little turning to look at him with such annoyance. “Who cares about my fucking language, you want to throw me out anyway and into some pack with an Alpha and his son who I’ve never even met before miles away from here!” I shout throwing my arm in the air in hopes of presenting the distance, my mother only sighed looking down at the table while my father shook his head. “That is not what’s happening Iris, do you believe I want to send my sixteen-year-old daughter to a pack miles away from here, I most certainly, do not but we don’t have any other choice, you’re the only one we can send!” My father said trying to make it seem as though his hands were tied and there was nothing else we could do, but I knew that was far from being the case.
Not even a week later, my brother was helping me move some of my boxes from my room and down to the car which was waiting to take me away. The Alpha of The Full Moon Pack apparently, was overjoyed that I was being sent over and proceeded to get all the relevant balls rolling to have me arrive at his pack quicker than I would have hoped. “Is this the last one?” Lincoln asked as he placed my final box to join my others in the boot, I was only taking three boxes with me, one with my clothes, the other with my other essentials and the last with some keepsakes things which I was planning to keep in case I get homesick. “Yep, seems as though I’m all set to begin my next terrifying journey.” I sighed holding my bag in my hands looking down at the ground, but he only smiled as he closed the boot. “Don’t look at this as terrifying, but one big adventure you’re about to undertake. Iris, you’re much stronger and tougher than you allow yourself to feel, you are going to ace this and make us
~ 5 years later~“I think this is everything.” I say pushing at the brown cardboard box in front of me, the other boxes I had squeezed into my car seeming to add resistance allowing my feet to skid along the floor as I pushed.“Not everything.” Max smiles arriving at the steps of the pack house with another box in his hands, my mouth hung open as I looked to the box and over to my car which was already bursting at the seams! “There is no way I’m getting that last box in, I have a feeling the boot is going to fly open mid-drive anyway, with that I’ll just be tempting fate!” I exclaimed walking around to the passenger door in hopes I could squeeze more in, but the full box looked back at me smugly riding shotgun. “How did I arrive here with three boxes, just to leave with seven?!” I asked slamming the door in a huff as though it was the box's fault, I was the one that packed them and allowed myself to accumulate all of this junk. “I mean you have been rather busy these past five
The drive back to The Blood Wolf Pack was odd, I knew I was heading “home”, but it truly didn’t feel that way anymore. I had been staying with Max and The Full Moon Pack for five years now, I was essentially, still a child when I was sent away but to return when I’m twenty-one, it feels as though I’m a different person now so I couldn’t help but worry that this place was no longer mine anymore. But my wolf on the other hand, seemed to be giddy about the prospect of returning, she bounced around happily in my head and even said numerous times that I should ditch my belongings and this car and head back in wolf form which would be much faster. Her reaction did confuse me for a moment, I had never shifted in this pack before, I had turned eighteen at The Full Moon pack and know it’s all my wolf knows, but still she couldn’t wait for me to return home and refused to tell me why the many times that I would ask. When I finally, drove through the borders of The Blood Wolf Pack, it was gr
The thought of Alban and the unfortunate situation I had found myself in clouded my mind, the way his eyes looked into mine caused me to want to shrink but at the same time, run into his arms. That man was awful to me the last few years I was staying at this pack, each time he would see me, the look on his face was as though I had betrayed him in such an outrageous way, and I was his worst enemy. But the awful mixed with confusing thing, I had never done a single thing which would grant being treated the way he treated me. It wasn’t only me that he’d do it to, but almost to every friend that I had. It was as though he thought I was such a repulsive person that I didn’t deserve to have friends, so he did everything in his power to force them to leave me. I even recall around a month before I left, my best friend Malcolm and I were walking home from a little get together deep in the woods when Alban appeared out of nowhere. I knew what he was like, so I grabbed Malcolm by the hand and
Waking up the next morning back at home in my own bed, I truly felt more lost than I ever did back at The Full Moon pack. Leading up to this point when I knew I would need to head home, I did worry that I’d get like this. I felt so at home there and knew everyone and knew I had a place in the world, but now being in this pack again, it was as though everyone had moved on with their lives and here I was, seeming to go back to where I was when I left, I didn’t have a place anymore. As I sat up in bed looking out of the window with such sadness in the pit of my stomach, I realised I hadn’t messaged Max after returning home and worried he’d either get worried himself or feel as though I had simply forgotten about him because I was back home. Throwing my blankets off and grabbing my phone which sat on charge beside me, I write: “Sorry I didn’t text last night, once I returned home, I hadn’t stopped. I’m back safe but I miss you so much.” Once I hit send, all I could do was sigh and l
My eyes began to flutter closed the longer I sat on the sofa, I had only been awake for some hours but due to the amount of crying I had done in that short amount of time, my eyes stung and begged me to rest them. Feeling as though I didn’t have much else to do, I was ready to oblige and take my first nap in my parent's house, but the front door beginning to knock three booming times jolted me forward. My heart pounded in my chest from the shock of this sudden visitor, my hands seeming to grip the armrests of the sofa as though that was going to aid me in anyway. The repeated knocks on the door once I hadn’t even rose from the sofa yet to get the door snaps me from my delirious state, I believe that is what led me to get up from the chair and quickly walk towards the door without taking much thought as to who could be waiting on the other side. But that seemed to all change when I reached for the handle and pulled open the door, only to reveal the very same Alpha I had locked ey
The longer Alban’s body lay pressed against mine, the more those burning desire feelings took over my senses but also, the less air I was able to take in due to my whole body getting pressed against the hardwood flooring. “Do not get me wrong little mate, I do enjoy a little fight, it simply excites me for the punishments I can bestow upon you with my own special weapon.” He whispered right by my ear which only allowed my wolf to howl in excitement and me to attempt to move myself but due to the position, I couldn’t get very far. “You’re…. such a… dick.” I manage to reply not able to get a full breath of air in my lungs due to his body weight and the floor sandwiching me in place, but even with this I wasn’t going to allow him to win. “That is exactly right little mate, one you will greatly enjoy when the time comes, I wonder if it will be now.” He whispered even closer to my ear but this time, a little piece of his saliva falls from his lips and lands on my cheek, this sending
After going over the second half of my marvellous plan, all men agreed my approach would not only be the most successful but also, swift enough so the W.M.O will never be able to catch wind of it beforehand. Alban allowed Russell to use one of the packs labs where he was able to brew The Deadly Sleeping Drought in under an hour, the clear liquid soon placed in a thin glass test tube and in a protective bag so it wouldn’t spill. We all agreed that the quickest and stealthiest way for us to travel to The Full Moon Pack would be in wolf form, so around two hours after I had disclosed my amazing plan, we were all stood at the edge of the border with bags in our hands holding the spare clothes for us to wear so we wouldn’t have to walk around in the nude. “I’ve just realised, you haven’t seen me in wolf form yet, I had shifted while I was away and due to that stupid order, which should really be lifted by now, I haven’t been able to.” I smiled over to Alban as he dug through his bag
Walking into Alban’s office, he sat behind his desk with his leg bouncing in anger and impatience as he waited for me to return. Lincoln sat to the side of him seeming to read a bunch of maps that I had asked from him whilst Russell, sat off to the side seeming to jot down some information. “How did it go?” Alban asked as I closed the door behind me, all eyes seeming to move away from whatever the rest were doing as I stood in the middle of the room. “I sorted it, everything is being moved to a specific location where as soon as you’re ready, you can go see it all. No one held any malice towards what they were doing, yes, some people didn’t like Polly, and most were scared but she was still once this packs Luna. Your father and her did great things for this pack; people are grieving that side of things. People grieve in different ways, and none are the wrong way.” I smiled walking deeper into the room hoping to calm his anger down, he wasn’t doing this out of spite or true anger,
Once Alban had finished his coffee, which he drunk and stated was one of the tastiest coffee’s he believed he’d ever tried, we walk hand in hand out of the house and towards the main section of pack. With all that happened only yesterday, I watched Alban even closer as we walked towards the exit of our private residence, it’s okay here as only Lincoln has permission to enter, but as soon as we walk through those gates, all eyes will be on us. I knew the news surrounding his parents and the hunters had made their rounds, I had received many mind-links from the higher ups in the packs asking me to send their condolences to Alban, I don’t think any wanted to tell him directly. Holding his head up high and placing that same Alpha look even though I knew was his invisible mask, we exit our private sanctuary where many sympathetic stares were sent our way by many people. Sending them tiny smiles as a thank you, I continued walking beside Alban until the pack house came into view and sat
Once Alban allowed himself to cry for so many heartbreaking minutes, I headed downstairs to brew him a coffee, hoping I would be able to work out his professional set up and not have boiling coffee fly at my face. In the mists of me studying all of the many dials and hoping one was going to burst into some kind of song indicating it was the one I had to use, someone walking into the kitchen causes me to jump. “I didn’t mean to startle you, I just came to see if I could grab a glass of water before meeting your brother.” Russell who I’d forgotten was here said by the door, where I simply sent him a smile before staring back at the coffee machine. “It’s okay, I was just making Alban a coffee, if I’m able to work out this scientific machine that is.” I reply with a frustrated sigh, I wanted to try and lift Alban’s spirits but if I mess up, I may make him choke. “Allow me to help, back at The Full Moon Pack before training each day, the kitchen staff would allow me in to make a co
Alban continued to stare at me with confusion in his face but also, a hint of anger as though Russell saving my life while I was away was some sort of betrayal. “What do you mean he saved your life?” He asked in a growl like tone looking down at me, where I simply shook my head going to move away from him, but he stopped me. “I have more important things to discus with you than something that happened in the past that doesn’t really matter anymore-.” I began to try and push it away but when I’m lifted back up on the counter, I knew Alban wasn’t about to let this go. “I will decide what is important enough to discus with me and right now, you explaining how this rouge saved your life and pushed you into some kind of debt with him started?” He asked repeating that unless I told him what I meant with Russell, he wasn’t going to allow either of us to move. “Russell doesn’t see it as though I’m in his debt, he’s actually told me multiple times that he doesn’t want anything back for
Sparks spreading throughout my face gently pulls me out of my sleeping state, after all that happened yesterday and the late hour that I managed to fall asleep, the last thing I wanted to do was wake up in that moment and attempted to ignore it all. Until long kisses were placed along my jaw and neck snapping my eyes open in a second, Alban lay on my chest with a smile on his face watching me. “Glad of you to join me.” Alban smiled his voice deep from sleep whilst I rolled my eyes at his comment before attempting to fall back into dreamland. “Five more minutes.” I groan sinking my face further into the pillow in hopes of blocking the rest of the noise out, I was still very much exhausted from the party and everything in between. “I would always opt to remain in bed tangled up with you but wasn’t it you who said we had a lot to get done today, with your Luna duties and whatever it is you are planning?” Alban asked with a chuckle at my desire to fall back to sleep, where each and
Using the rush of adrenaline and anger that I felt for what these assholes did to my mate, I grab the first who attempted to throw an arrow at me and claw at his neck until he landed dead on the floor. With such a swift kill, I saw his friends look at me a little shocked before getting to action, one man ran at me with a sword of his own, which I managed to kick out of his hand and plunge Samuel’s dagger right into his chest, moving it up so it caused the most damage, I kick him back and allow him to bleed out alone. One by one each man attempted to take me down, but were met with my anger filled hits and bites, as I ripped each man apart, grabbing one man by the scruff of hid neck, I smashed his head so hard off a tree, the old wooden tree fell to the floor with his head bedded inside. When my back was turned, one man grabbed me and attempted to slit my throat, but what ease, I break all the fingers in his hand and throw him over my shoulder, using his own weapon to impale him as
Polly’s huge brown wolf began growling in uncontrollable anger, its midnight black eyes indicating to us that Polly was no longer the person pulling the strings, her wolf had taken full control and was more than willing to rip apart anyone who came close to her. I remained behind Alban, his entire body shielding mine from the danger as my hand gripped his shoulder, Lincoln stood off to the side in his Beta pose preparing for an attack the wolf might unleash on him. Russell had moved off to the side a little assessing the situation and seeing if he could find a way around it while Samual, who had attempted to hurt Polly, lay by a tree unconscious. “What are we going to do?” I whispered gripping onto Alban’s shoulder for dear life, the way Polly’s wolf prowled was evident of how dangerous it was, she truly had nothing to lose and that’s the most dangerous thing. “Whatever happens, that wolf isn’t going to quit until it’s forced to.” Lincoln said walking sideways but ensuring not t
The already dead and dark wood slipped into even more deafening silence as each person attempted to understand what Alban had just said, I didn’t know if this was him also attempting to pull the wool over Samuel’s eyes as he just watched Russell do, or he was serious, but I was left watching my mate more unsure than anything. “You ain’t gonna fool me Alpha, I wasn’t born yesterday, even though you’re my younger brother and you’re one of the only people I love, I don’t trust you. Polly is your mother also and someone as I have seen, you put over everyone else’s safety to help.” Samual scoffed shaking his head at his brother not seeming to fall for Alban’s tricks, who simply shook his head with a sigh staring at Polly who shook with fear behind him. “That was once the truth, I admit I have witnessed the way in which mother treats the pack members and simply believed that is how a Luna runs her pack. But that was all before I was able to see how my mate does, she feels nothing but lo
