SIERRA
“–stress-induced. She’ll be fine.” My eyes fluttered open as I managed to hear the last words of an unfamiliar man. I groaned, massaging my temples and instantly I saw my mom at my side. “Oh, honey, you gave us quite a fright,” my mom said. I was still slightly disoriented as I looked around the room trying to figure out why I was in an unfamiliar room that was decorated with my favorite band wallpapers. “Where are we?” I asked my mom, stifling a yawn. “You don't remember?” my mom asked with a frown. I saw the man discussing with King Thane as they left the room leaving me alone with my mom. The memories of the day flashed into my mind as I also recalled the triplets and the scent that had filled my nostrils before I passed out. “Shit!” I cursed. My mom frowned, “Language, Kiddo.” I sighed, “Sorry, Mom. What happened?” “You fainted after being introduced to the triplets,” my mom answered. I facepalmed mentally, “Oh boy. I think I made a mistake Mom.” My mom frowned, “What’s that honey? If it’s because you fainted the pack doctor says it’s stress. Since we have this house and everything there's no need for you to work at that horrible place again.” I smiled at my mom, glad that I was finally done with that horrid job. Besides I had no intention of going back there since it was where Orion and his men followed me from. “Thank you, Mom, but that's not the main point here,” I stated. My mom stared at me quizzically, “What is it?” I wriggled my hands nervously, “Remember how I told you about those monsters?” My mom nodded, “Yeah, the ones that wanted to harm you.” I groaned, “The thing is I don't think they wanted to harm me. I believe they were saving me.” My mom frowned, “Why did you suddenly change your mind after fainting? Perhaps you've hit your head a bit too hard.” I laughed, “Those monsters are Kane, Zane, and Dane.” My mom nodded, “Oh dear, Sierra, you owe those boys an apology.” I frowned, “I know that, Mom.” “You ought to do better, Sierra,” my mom scolded, “They are your siblings now. Don't screw this up for us.” “I’m sorry, Mom, I’ll apologize,” I said. A soft knock sounded on the door before King Thane popped his head inside with a smile. “How are you feeling, Sierra?” he asked me. I smiled, “I’m better now, thank you.” “Seems like the stress of the last-minute wedding caught up to you,” he said, “We didn't even have time to show you your room but here it is. I hope you like it.” “I love it, Thane, thank you so much,” I greeted. “You don't have to thank me,” he stated, “I love your mother, I would do anything for her.” My mom blushed as she stared at Thane before she turned to me, “Rest, Sierra. We’ll leave you now.” I could almost hear the hidden message in her words. She wanted to give me space so I could go apologize to the triplets. I didn't even want to argue with her because I knew she was right. When they left my room I groaned when I suddenly remembered I had forgotten to ask them what rooms the triplets were in. I stood up and stared around the room. I nodded my head in appreciation. The decor of the room was exactly to my taste and I wondered how long Mom had known that she would marry Thane before telling me about it. From the look of things it seems they've planned quite a lot of things before involving me and I tried not to feel bad about it. Knowing how history affected my relationship toward men I'm sure my mom was trying to protect me and wait for the right time. I was still dressed in the dress I wore for the wedding so I decided to change my clothes if I was going to look for the boys. I opened the wardrobe and gasped when I saw various dresses that were my size. They were all new dresses and it seemed like the wardrobe had been customized to suit my taste. I would have found it creepy if I didn't know my mom was involved in this whole process. From the room to the wardrobe. I picked up a pair of shorts and a tank top. I changed into it quickly before stepping out of my room and into the broad hallway. I didn't need to look for them because I could hear voices coming from the room at the far end of the hallway. I knocked on the door and pulled it open. I saw the two brothers sitting down and staring at me. They looked nervous at first and I frowned. “Am I interrupting something?” I asked them. “Yes,” the one with dark spiky hair answered in a rude tone. I arched an eyebrow at him and stepped inside the room, looking around. “Where is the third one?” I asked. “What do you want?” the guy challenged. I sighed, “I messed up, I'm sorry. I got confused and thought you guys wanted to hurt me.” The one with dark hair glared at me, “And what is giving you the impression that we don't want to hurt you?” He walked up to me, his silver eyes staring daggers at me. I felt tingles from my stomach down to my toes. My head swooned a bit from being too close to him. “I… I…” I stuttered, suddenly losing my ability to form a coherent word or thought. His eyes were fixated on my lips as he stared at them. I could see the lust in his eyes and I knew exactly how he was feeling because I felt the same way too. For some strange reason, all I wanted to do was to kiss my stepbrother until my lips were swollen and my panties were soaking wet. “Kane!” the second brother’s voice sounded behind us snapping us out of our trance. Kane cleared his throat and stepped away from me with a scowl on his face. “Stay the hell away from me!” he snarled at me. The guy who had interrupted us walked toward me but maintained his distance. It was almost like he was scared to come closer to me. “Hi, I’m Dane. This is my brother Kane, and Zane is somewhere outside the house,” he introduced himself. I smiled at him, he had a friendly and charming face with brown tousled hair that looked like he had just woken up from sleep. There was an airy vibe mixed with a strict aura surrounding him. He had the same silver eyes as his brothers. They were all similar and drop-dead handsome. “I’m Sierra, nice to meet you. And I'm sorry about being an ass the times we bumped into each other,” I finally apologized. “It’s alright. Water under the bridge,” Dane said, “We’re starting on a clean slate.” I smiled, “Cool,” then I turned to Kane, “Are we cool too?” Kane glared at me, “Fuck off!” I was shocked by the resentment in his words. It was like he secretly hated me for something I didn't know. “Stop it, Kane,” Dane sighed then stared at me, “Don’t worry, he’ll come around soon. It takes him a while to warm up to new people.” The door opened suddenly and the dizzying scent of pine and rainwater engulfed my nostrils as I staggered, holding my head in my hand. My eyes landed on the person who had just strolled into the room with a charming smile. He froze when he saw me and our eyes met. “Mate,” the words slipped out of my lips before I could comprehend them. “Fuck!” Kane exclaimed, startling me. He charged at Zane who had just walked in and was still staring at me. “Why the fuck didn't you cloak your scent?” he was asking Zane. His angry words snapped us out of our newfound bond. I didn't have time to comprehend the fact that I had just found my mate. I could only make out Kane’s words. “Cloak his scent? What do you mean by that?” I asked, my eyes widening with surprise. “Shit!” Dane mumbled under his breath. Zane looked at a loss for words, “I didn't know she would be here.” “What the fuck is going on here? Why does Zane have to cloak his scent and how is he my mate?” I questioned, confused. They all shared a look and Dane shrugged before speaking. “Zane already ruined the plan. I guess we’ll just have to tell her.” I turned to Dane, “Tell me what?” Kane looked like he wanted to burn me to a crisp with the lasers he shot at me from his eyes. “This is a fucking terrible idea, guys,” he said to his brothers, ignoring me. “We have to tell her. She's gonna find out sooner or later since Zane already ruined it,” Dane said. Then I watched as Dane and Kane took off a necklace with a moon-shaped pendant that was around their neck. All of a sudden the same intoxicating scent that had hit me before I passed out earlier filled the room. The words ‘mate’ kept ringing in my ears as I stared at the triplets. I shook my head confused and surprised. “Oh no, it can't be,” I groaned. Kane had a cruel smile on his face when he replied to me, “But it is. Three of us are your mates and we aren't accepting you.” His words were like a dagger that sliced through my heart as tears filled my eyes. “What do you mean?” I asked him, my voice breaking at the end. The smile on his lips widened, “It means we are rejecting you, weakling!”SIERRAI sat on the wooden porch, legs curled under me as I held a handful of cards. The wind was soft, brushing my face gently. Mama sat across from me, fanning her own cards. Lila sat on a stool next to me, squinting at hers."You're both cheating," Mama said with a smirk.I laughed. "You just don’t want to admit I’m winning."Lila groaned. "I’m definitely losing. Why are these cards so confusing?"Mom’s eyes went straight to my stomach. She smiled and gently placed her hand on it."Wow," she whispered. "You’re really showing now."I chuckled, placing my hand over hers."I know," I said, my voice soft. "I can feel them move more now. It’s like tiny butterflies sometimes. Sometimes little thumps when they get excited."Mom’s eyes sparkled. "That's so magical. Have you picked any names yet?""Not really," I said, leaning back in my chair. "The boys keep throwing suggestions at me, but they change their minds every other day."We both laughed."You look so happy," Mom said, watching my
SIERRAThe wind smelled like home.Trees stretched tall around us, and the ground felt familiar beneath my boots. We were back.Zane took a deep breath beside me. “Smells like freedom.”“Smells like wet dog,” I joked. He laughed. “Well, we are werewolves.”Dane stepped up on my other side, holding my hand. “You sure you're okay coming back here?”I nodded. “Yeah. This is where everything began. And it’s where everything should start again.”The others were already waiting near the old pack house. I saw Lila and Mom hugging people, kids running through the field, wolves shifting back and forth in excitement.Lucian came jogging up. “Welcome back, Alpha.”“Lucian,” Alpha Thane smiled. He turned me gently toward a circle where Zane, Dane, and Kane were now standing, each of them holding something behind their backs.I blinked. “What’s going on?”Zane tugged me forward. “Just walk with me.”Music began to play, soft drums, something ancient.Kane stepped up first. “Sierra,” he said. “You
MAYASierra was glowing. Literally glowing. The wolves had gathered around her. Some bowed. Some howled. Some just stood in silence, watching her like she was something from an old story come to life. And then Kane knelt and offered her that moonflower.I stood there with Thane and our kids, holding my breath as I kissed him. I felt something deep shift in the air. Like the world had finally taken a full breath and let it go.Thane squeezed my hand."Did you feel that?" he whispered.I nodded. "Yeah. It's over, isn't it?"He looked at Sierra, then at me. "I think so."The moon hung full and round above us. The veil behind us shimmered once, faint and soft, and then faded like mist in the morning. The war, the fear, the whispers… it all went with it.I looked down at my children. Sierra was holding Lila’s hand. The boys were staring at the sky, then Dane turned to me.“Can we go home now?” he asked softly.I dropped to my knees, pulled them all in, and kissed their foreheads.“Yes, bab
SIERRAUnder the silver gaze of the full moon, I stood at the edge of the cliff, the wind whispering through my hair. The earth pulsed beneath my bare feet, the sky humming above me, and for the first time in my life, I felt… complete. Whole. Changed. The wildfire that had been tearing through the eastern ridge came into view—an angry wave of orange and red, devouring everything in its path. Trees cracked and fell, animals fled in panic, and the smoke turned the sky black. It roared like a beast let loose, wild and unstoppable. But I didn’t run. I didn’t hide. I stepped forward.I raised my hand slowly, not because I had a plan, but because something deep inside told me to. My heart beat in time with the earth, with the wind, with the moon above me. I felt power rising—not the kind I had learned in spellbooks or through hours of practice—but something more ancient, something already inside me.I opened my mouth. No chant, no incantation. Just a word.“Be still,” I whispered. And the f
SIERRA"We did it," I whispered, my voice shaking."Not yet," she said. "There’s still something here. Do you feel it?"I nodded slowly. The air was too still. Too heavy. Then I saw her.A shadow moved through the mist. I felt it before I saw her, the echo of magic, grief, and something deeper. Something ancient.Ariel.She stepped out of the fog, her form flickering like a dying flame, barely holding together. The proud sorceress I’d once feared was gone. This Ariel was… hollow. Not evil. Not triumphant. Just exhausted. Her clothes hung off her like smoke, her hair tangled around her pale face. And her eyes… they weren’t cruel anymore. Just tired. So, so tired.“Sierra,” she said, and her voice wasn’t sharp like before. It came softly, like the rustle of dying leaves. “You have to finish it.”I took a slow step forward, wary but no longer angry. The battlefield was quiet now, the hum of the seal still crackling behind me in red and gold. “Ariel?” I said, not hiding the confusion in m
SIERRADane and Silva ran to the house as if they were being chased. They told us about the rift, and we had no choice but to go there with them. The fire that rose around Dane pulsed like a heartbeat. Red and gold light shimmered from the rune circle, wrapping around us. The creatures on the other side of the rift howled like they could feel it too, like it burned them.I stared at Dane. “You did it,” I whispered. His eyes were glowing faintly, like he wasn’t fully back yet. He blinked hard, then looked at me. “Is it working?”“Yes,” I said quickly. “It’s holding… but not for long.”Zane stepped forward, eyes darting around. “Then what now?”“We seal it,” I said.Kane looked from me to the rift. “You said you couldn’t do it alone.”“I couldn’t,” I said. “But now? I can try.”Without thinking, I reached for both of them. I took Zane’s hand in one, Kane’s in the other. They stiffened at first, then their fingers tightened around mine.I looked up at them. “In case this kills me…”“Sier
