Chapter 25

Stacey

Things were getting strange. All of us stuck together like glue after Jessica was taken. She never came back, not that we expected her to, given that she failed to get through to the next round, but now more than ever, we all wanted to survive.

I monitored Hayley the next day. I could no longer determine what I had seen in the bathroom between them. Was it true or not? If she cared, then why didn’t she come to do something when they dragged her away? Every time I saw her, either in the kitchen or the bathroom, she had a bored, borderline bitchy expression on her face. She also looked like even though we were out of the arena, she still looked ready to take any of us on.

Felicity’s usual bitchy and pompous behaviour sucked the air out of the room so fast that I lost my appetite. As such, the three of us had made a plan. We all rotated whose room we would stay in whilst we did rock paper scissors to see whose turn it was to fetch snacks or drinks. “Stace, what happened to your
