I paced back and forth, wearing out the thin rug as I waited for the first contestant to be brought up here. The room wasn’t much. There was a bed with a metal frame, a thicker fur rug that surrounded it, and two bedside lights on the walls. An oak wooden table stood with two chairs, each with red velvet seats, alongside a wooden chest of drawers and wardrobe; however, I had no use for them. This room served a singular purpose. I guess I could have done without the furniture and just kept the bed, but I figured the girls might struggle to show me their seduction skills if it felt like a cheap brothel. On the chest of draws, I had some wine and whiskey. I might need a drink to take the edge off.
