Do You Know Who I Am?

Gael's (POV)

It's been a while since my encounter with Turstin. I can't believe just how rude he was. If I had known the man I had a crush on was this rude, I would have shunned my feelings for him a long time ago. He isn't worth it. He isn't worth my time for a bit.

The door suddenly flew open and someone walked in. I was going red with anger, thinking it was Turstin, but I immediately beat down my anger when I saw another guy. He had beautiful blue eyes. He was putting on faded jeans and a t-shirt on a long white doctor's coat.

“Hi, it's good to see you awake, Gael.” The strange guy said. I creased my brow in a frown when he mentioned my name. I don't know him, but how the hell did he know my name?

“H…hi, have we met before?” I asked.

He let out a light chuckle which showed a perfect dimple on both sides of his cheeks. Goodness! What the hell is going on? First it was Turstin, and now it was some strange guy whose identity I know nothing about.

“I know you must be surprised, since I called you by your name.”

Good thing he knew why I asked the question.

“My name's Jeremy, but you can call me Jerry if it pleases you,” he said, winking at me in a seductive manner that almost sent me shivering with nervousness.

“You don't have to feel that way. I'm sorry if it made you feel uncomfortable,” he instantly said.

“How long have I been out?”

“Well, it's been a week since the Alpha took you here.”

“Alpha, Who's Alpha?”

“Goodness! I totally forgot that you're human. Do you have no idea how our community actually works? Well, the thing is, he took you here because he, uhm, unintentionally hit you.”

I folded my hands into fists. Thinking about what had happened earlier made me mad. How could I be so stupid as to keep silent when he asked me a question? He was the one who hit me in the first place.

“I can imagine why you're emitting such anger, but you shouldn't blame him. He's always this way, but if you get to know him, you'll find out he's actually a nice guy.”

Did he just say he was a nice guy? I scoffed silently.

“Tell me, why can't I move my whole body? Am I perhaps crippled?”

Jerry suddenly chuckled at my words.

“Though you may be a human, trust me, no one goes crippled under my watch. All I want you to do is relax and have a good rest. I actually came to give you a shot, so you can have a good rest.

“Fuck! I hate shots! Isn't there another way to make me feel better?” I asked.

“There's no other way, I'm afraid. I can only treat you the way a human being is to be treated.”

Wait a minute, why does he keep mentioning humans? It's not like he was an Alien. I also noticed Turstin used the word human on me earlier.

“You don't have to be scared, Gael, you won't feel painful because I have a way of administering mine. All you have to do is to stay calm and let me make you feel okay.”

I nodded my head in agreement.

For some reason, I feel so relaxed having Jerry around. This was unlike me. Instead of hospitals, drugs, and shots. But here I am, in the same hospital I hate, about to take some shots, and I'm perfectly okay with it.

The moment Jerry gave me the shots, my eyes instantly became heavy, and just like that, I slept off.

*********

I woke up again, and this time, I perceived a sweet scent of apples. Goodness! Why am I perceiving apples? The last thing I remember was the fact that I was in the hospital, and there were no apples in the hospital.

I quickly peeled my eyes open, only to find myself in the same room.

“Hi!” I heard someone say sharply. I titled my head stress fully toward the direction of the voice, only to see Turstin with a smiling face. Thought you might need some apples, so, I got you some."

I creased my brow in a frown. Why does he act so differently?

“How long have I been asleep for?” I asked.

“A day,” he replied sharply.

This is strange. The Turstin I saw yesterday was entirely different from this one. He was seemingly more calm and attentive, I'd say.

“Do you need apples?” He asked, carrying the tray of apples to my side.

I simply nodded while staring at him, confused.

“Here,” he gave me an apple, which I reluctantly accepted from him.

“Uhm, sorry about what happened to you, but you don't have to worry, I'll come see you as much as I can.”

“What happened to me? You clearly were the one who hit me.”

He suddenly made a sad face that made me regret my statement. Maybe I shouldn't have said that to him. Perhaps he was sorry about what he did, and me bringing up what he did must have made him sad.

“I'm sorry for what I did. I promise to take care of you from now on.”

He said while staring into my eyes. Seeing him up close, I can almost say he meant what he said. The way he stared at me made my throat dry. Has anyone ever told this man, he has a way of sending poor hearts into disarray?”

“Don't stare at me that way, Gael, I don't know, but I seriously don't want to lose myself now.” I immediately tore my gaze away from him. Goodness! Was it that obvious? What the hell is wrong with me? I should have known I'd be this restless. I should have known, all those nights I had wet dreams about him. I had always wondered what it would be like if I were ever to meet him face to face. Who would have thought that I would actually lose it this much?

“I have a question for you, though, Gael?”

I took my gaze back at him, to listen to his question.

“Have you perhaps heard of me before now?”

My heart skipped instantly. What should I say now? Yes? No? If I say yes, I'll be too obvious, and if I said no it'll seem as though I were lying. I mean, he knows my name and that only meant he must have found my ID.

“I-”

“I'm sure you don't know me then,” he interrupted.

I couldn't have felt more relieved when he answered the question on my behalf.
