Myra’s Pov

I should not have gone there but still I found myself answering his call— as usual.

When it came to Orin, I tend to lose my self-will and bend to whatever he asked of me. He was my biggest flaw and damn it, if I don’t get my feelings under control— I might harm Kaelis.

I didn’t want her to be in the crosshairs of whatever was going on between Orin and I.

‘What if she is his mate?’ Isla— my lycan roared.

“His mate?” I spit out. “She is a Luna who doesn’t know who she is. How can she be his mate?”

‘We can’t rule out the possibility,’ she was restless.

“She is a wolf and cannot be his mate. Besides, Orin doesn’t have a mate, does he?” I asked as I tried to shake off the unease I felt.

‘None that we know of. His last mate died because she wasn’t strong enough to accept his lycan,’

“She wasn’t his mate but he let her die, regardless,” I snorted.

I knew about the curse that had plagued Orin but had sworn to not tell anyone but he kept treating me like I was nothing— just his secret and human diary that he can dump everything on.

I could not allow a spy— more or less a wolf… a dog to take what was rightfully mine.

Only the blind would see Orin and not be attracted to him. The goddess took her time and made him to perfection. His eyes were way more enchanting than any other I had ever seen… believe me, I had seen a lot.

I didn’t blame Kaelis when I saw her stare at him during the festival… I allowed it because I wanted her to join me and drool over the one man I had wrapped around my fingers…

‘Wrapped?’ Isla cut me off. ‘He has you wrapped around his fingers.’

“I am his 911,” I shot back at her.

I sucked in my teeth as I rolled my eyes to what Isla had said. I had him where I wanted… although he didn’t know it yet but I was letting him take his time then when I came to collect he would be left with no choice.

I didn’t know what he had seen in Kaelis and the way she had babbled about him— on and on about him, made me want to rip my ears off and not listen to her delusions. But the way he talked to her at the clinic sparked something different and I had never seen in Orin before.

He had always been nonchalant and carefree but with Kaelis he was a different person. That was why I had to make her see him in his primal form and him going wild was the icing on the cake.

I didn’t expect it to go that bad but it did and that was what I thought. Still, the way she had run after him, into the dead of the night had made me scared that I could not make her back off.

I had gotten home and had barely sat down when a loud bang landed on the door— I almost jumped out of my skin.

I struggled to open the door. “What do you want?”

“The king has asked for you,” the guard said. His face was stoic and stiff.

“You didn’t have to bang the door so hard,” I corrected him but he ignored me. “Give me a second.”

I picked my bag and couldn’t even freshen up as I went out with the guard.

In the throne room, Soren was seated in all his power. His left hand rested on his jaw while his other hand tapped on the seat handle, in a very precise rhythm.

I walked in slowly as the guards left me alone with the Lycan King.

“You didn’t have to send a guard to get me,” I said, my voice was sharp but lacked power.

“I grew restless,” he said as he came down from his throne. He was a tall and attractive man but failed in comparison to Orin. He couldn’t hold a torch to the beauty that Orin had but he was well… okay.

“What do you want?” I questioned.

“Answers, woman. What the fuck us going on?” He snapped at me.

I looked at him but didn’t say a word, instead I walked round him like a predator circling its prey.

“You worry too much, Soren.” I motioned for him to sit. “You shouldn’t let minor discomfort trouble you.”

He sat down on a chair that stood beside one of the huge pillars in the throne room as he let out a heavy sigh— so loud that it echoed through the walls of the room.

Getting me to be a part of Kaelis’s circle was his idea and I was more than happy to see how much a mutt could survive and grow— so I took it.

“What did you find out?” He asked again but this time his voice was calm and relaxed.

“Well, she still hasn’t remembered anything and is mostly stuck at the clinic doing healing duties. But nothing about her is suspicious,” I answered him.

“The spies that…”

“Did you send….” I gasped. “Soren! You have grown a lot,” I applauded him.

Now, this balled Soren was who I could work with and not some spineless swine who got his power because his daddy gave it to him.

“And Orin?”

“What about him?” I requested.

There was no way I was going to tell him about what happened earlier— he would lose it and I was not going to let that happen.

Never!

“Nothing concerns him with the spy,” I said but my voice was trembling. I tried hard to hold it still then his eyes flickered as he looked at me as if he knew that I was hiding something.

“Don’t lie to me, Myra. I had seen the way they talk and that isn’t any mere…”

“There is nothing going on with the two of them. Orin will remain without a mate and you will get to keep your throne. I will make sure of it, my lord.”

I swayed my hips in a very seductive way as I sat slowly on his thighs. I caressed his face full with his facial hairs as I planted a soft kiss on his lips but he quickly pushed me off and sprang to his feet.

“I told you that I wasn’t interested any longer,” he shouted at me and that sent shivers through my body.

“I know you are tense,” I said as my hands worked all over his body. “I heard the queen isn’t doing too well anymore and you have been stressed lately. So, be a good boy and let me help you ease the tension.” My voice sounded light and soft.

I moved to his ears and flicked it with the tip of my tongue and I felt him tense under it. That told me I was going to get my way.

“You always liked your ears licked, didn't you?” I smiled as I planted a kiss on his lips— this time deeper than the former.

He gripped me so hard as he returned the kiss— he was hungry and I wouldn’t blame him. Having a queen who didn’t match your sex drive was a disaster but I was here to lend my help.

He raised me and carried me on the council table then he pulled my pant apart before thrusting in hard.

I could only imagine Orin fucking me right now because that would be the climax of my life but I had to made do with this faux king. No, I didn’t like him but he is definitely an end to a means.

Soren’s povI had barely sat on the throne when the door was forced open. Three men came in, in fast strides like it was urgent.I didn't even let them settle themselves since they had disturbed my sleep that morning. “What are the plans for the invasion?” I asked, my eyes wandering around the men that stood before me.“We are stronger, no doubts but they are larger in numbers than us,” One of my commanders said.I let out a short but heavy laugh. “That better not be why you woke me up way too early this morning,” I threatened.“My lord,” the men voiced out in one voice, bowing their heads.I stood up from the seat and walked slowly, each steps were taken with great precision to exert fear and power. I had come to learn that power wasn't gotten by groveling or be kind, rather it was meant to be taken.I had held this seat as King not because I was weak, instead I had it because I was brutal and that made me one of the most fearsome King in all of the seven kingdoms. Orin’s PovI couldn’t stop myself from kissing her— her scent drew me in… I didn’t want to stop. This was like how I had imagined it… her lips were so soft. My free hand cupped her boobs as I felt her tense under my hand. Her moan turned me on and I could hear Veythar roaring in my head.‘Yes! Go on, claim her,’ he commanded as his voice boomed in my chest. My hands roamed all over her body— exploring and trying to take in every inch of her body. Her moans had gotten less faint than they were before.I picked her up and damn she was light— like a feather weight. She wrapped her legs round my waist as she held my neck tighter but didn’t break the kiss. She went in deeper and rougher than she had before. Her nails dug deep into my skin, sending a sharp sting of pain through my body but it was a pleasurable pain that I didn’t want to end.Slowly, I moved whilst still carrying her to the bedroom. I had to give her the utmost Orin Ashvale special.I placed her gently on the wooden table

Kaelis’ povI was running.I was running in the woods… but I wasn’t running away from danger, instead I was laughing and alive.A good time.“You need to slow down, Crimson,” a voice called out from the woods.“No chance,” I said giggling, turning back, then I headed forward but stopped when I got to a cliff. The water flowed from the mountain in a narrow line into the vast river that in turn flowed into the sea.The beauty of nature had always left me mesmerized and the goddess did indeed do a great job.“You are trying to make me fail the test?” The voice called out from the woods again. It felt familiar like I knew who the voice had belonged to but couldn’t place a name or face.“Come see this,” I beckoned the person to come and look at the beauty of nature that I was soaking in. “Isn’t it beautiful?”“Yes, it is,” the voice finally came out from the woods and his face shined with the light— so bright I couldn’t see who it was but I was happy. Heck, the happiest that I had been in

Orin’s povI was staring at Kaelis’s lifeless body on my bed. I had brought her to the one place that I could keep her safe. Her fingers were pale, lying lifeless on the blanket and I couldn’t move. My arms felt heavy, my stomach twisted. My throat felt tight, and every beat of my heart echoed like a drum.My hands itched to touch her, to make sure she was real, but I stayed frozen, afraid that even a small movement could shatter something fragile inside her. My eyes traced the curve of her jaw, the soft line of her cheek, the shaking of her eyelids as she breathed. She looked peaceful, almost unaware of the chaos she had survived, but my body shook with guilt and fear.“Dammit,” I muttered, pacing back and forth, the floor creaking beneath my feet. ‘You’re staring too hard. She’s alive and not dead— at least not yet. Stop pacing, Orin. It makes you look like a caged animal.’ Veythar groaned.I growled under my breath, stopping mid-step. My hands clenched into fists at my sides. “Sh

Orin’s Pov“Let me out, Vey!” I screamed at the top of my lungs.‘No. We need to be far from her,’ Veythar’s voice rumbled deep inside my head, heavy but low. ‘She cannot see us like this.’“I said let me out!” I snapped again… my chest was heaving and my body was shaking with rage.He ignored me, his breaths came rough and uneven as he pushed forward. I was pissed that he would do something so stupid and reckless— he could feel the pain and anger that was burning through my body still he didn’t give in. Instead he went on running, faster than he normally would.“Fuck!” I cursed out, the words slipping out before I could hold it back.“What the fuck was that,Vey?” I asked as I ran through the woods at full speed as if I was escaping someone.‘We are escaping someone, Orin,” Veythar roared in my ears… so loud I could hear it rumble in my ears and chest.“You didn’t have to let her see us like that,” I added, my tone was a bit lighter now but still sharp with anger underneath.‘I was
