VINCENT
"You have a visitor, Vincent" Jared said to me as soon as I sat down in my study. I couldn't remember setting up an appointment with anyone."She's an Alpha. You never arranged an appointment with her. But, now that she's here, she insists on seeing you" Jared told me.
"I don't have an appointment with her. Go and tell her that I won't be seeing her. She has to leave" I said and Jared nodded. Then, he left.
Few minutes later, he returned, looking provoked.
"She refused to leave without seeing you. She said she would spend days waiting at the gate if need be" he said to me, a frown on his face.
"What does she want with me now? An alliance?"
"It's possible" Jared said.
"She should forget it. I make no alliance with other packs. I'm not going to change my mind now" I said
RYLEE Alpha Vincent's burning gaze was locked with mine, as I stared at him, shocked."W-what?" I stuttered. I was having a hard time processing what he'd just said. As he drew nearer to me, I moved backwards. I ended up being trapped between him and the wall. His right arm was planted right on the wall, his piercing gaze locked with mine. For a moment, I was distracted by his eyes. They were oh so blue. "That's what you want, isn't it?" Alpha Vincent droned and I swallowed hard. "N-no...I" "Cut the crap. You really are pitiful. You almost got me there. I know you're desperate. You don't have to make it so obvious" he said. The more he spoke, the more I became upset. Few seconds ago, he'd sounded different. The look in his eyes had been different as well. For a moment, I'd wanted to believe that his intentions were true. How stupid of me to make conclusions. The fact that he was insinuating that everythi
VINCENT "What is it?" I asked, not raising my head to look at Jared who had just walked into my office."She's awake now" he said and I stiffened."Fine. You can go now" I told him. As soon as he was out of my office, I leaned back on my seat and rubbed the back of my neck. Zeke had found Rylee passed out in front of the gates. He told me that she'd told him that she was heading out for a night walk.I didn't want to think about the fact that my words might've pushed her to do something as reckless as that. I let out a sharp exhale and rubbed my eyes as I pondered on how to fix the mess I'd created. My head was hurting and I was feeling cranky. This was not helping with the situation at hand. I knew Rylee deserved an apology from me, but I didn't know how to give out that apology. The thought of it made me feel uncomfortable. I regretted saying those nasty things and was only realizing how much I'd hurt her. My prid
RYLEE Jared stared at me without saying anything. He'd been doing so since he found Vincent lying on the floor, unconscious. Jared wasn't asking me questions, but I knew his mind was full of unanswered questions. I wouldn't be surprised if he had doubts about the fact that Vincent had collapsed all of a sudden. He probably believed I had done something to him. The problem was that I had no idea what had really happened between us right before he passed out. I felt like I had blacked out. I couldn't remember walking back to the pack house or talking to Alpha Vincent. I was just as confused as Jared. I knew he wouldn't believe me even if I told him. It's why I kept my mouth shut and continued to bear the weight of Jared's sceptical gaze. Eventually, he broke the heavy silence. "What did you do to him?" I kept my gaze trained on the ground, racking my brain for answers. "I didn't do anything. He just collapsed" I mumbled and he tsked."Are you sure about that? What exactly did y
VINCENT 'Something is wrong' Jared said to me through the mind link. I straightened on my seat, a pen tucked between my middle and index fingers.'Elaborate' I said. 'I'm on my way to your office. Noah is with me' he told me. "Come in" I said at the sound of the knock on the door. Noah walked in alongside Jared. They both looked grim. I wondered why that was the case. "I was completing the rounds last night. There was no suspicious activities as usual. Neither was there signs of the presence of rogues in our territory" Noah began."So?" I said, keeping my gaze on him."I really thought that was it. But then, I smelt something around the perimeter"Jared sighed, running his fingers through his hair."Corpses. The smell was so strong, I had to ask Jared to investigate with me" Noah continued."What did you find?" I asked."The actual corpses. Werewolves and humans. There were sixteen bodies in all. Eight werewolves and eight humans"I was suspicious at this point. It had been
RYLEE Biting my lower lip, I stared out the window of my room, my hands resting on the window sill. My face warmed at the thought of what I'd said to Alpha Vincent. It felt really good to have done that. I hoped that I wouldn't regret accepting him. Alpha Vincent was still an asshole, but he was less of an asshole than before. Right when he'd threatened anyone who would hurt me, I had felt the butterflies in my stomach. He was quite charming in a way. He was drop dead gorgeous as well. He looked good enough to eat and those lips of his...I froze, my train of thoughts coming to an abrupt halt when I realized what I was doing. Was I really fangirling over Alpha Vincent? Cringing, I buried my face in my palm. I felt thankful about the fact that I wasn't ranting in front of Ava. It would have been so embarrassing. The door to my room was pushed open and Ava strode in, whistling under her breath. "Hey, bestie" she said, plopping down on my bed. I raised a brow. "Bestie?""That
VINCENT Seven werewolf pack leaders were standing in the meeting room, two corpses lying on a table which was located at the centre of room. The putrid smell emanating from the corpses was discomforting, to say the least. Two days after I'd informed the werewolf council about the strange corpses, a meeting was arranged. We all stood in silence, our gazes resting on the decaying corpses on the table. Alpha Baron was the first to break the silence. "Two days ago, it was brought to our notice that there were corpses that had been discovered in the town, a short distance from the Crystal River Pack""The bodies have been examined. We found a couple of strange things which we're still trying to figure out" "I have a question" Alpha Wyatt said, his gaze resting on me. I've always known that he wasn't quite fond of me. The fact that my pack was the largest and most feared packs in town was also something that didn't sit well with him. He was intimidated by me, most of the time. He b
RYLEE He stared at me with confusion written all over his face. "What on Earth are you talking about?" He asked. I turned to look at the other 'me' who was standing beside Vincent with a melancholic look on her face."What I'm about to tell you... might sound unbelievable. But, you have to believe it" I said and his frown deepened."You should sit down, you look like you're about to pass out" I said, pushing him towards his seat.Without a word, he sat down and stared at me."Can I sit?" I asked."Do whatever you want" he replied with a gruff voice."First of all, do you remember the day I went out for a night walk?" I asked and he grunted."What does that have to do with the rune?""That was the night I met myself from my past life" I said and he frowned."Does that mean you were reincarnated?" He asked and I nodded."She came to warn me about the things that happened in the past that would repeat itself in this lifetime. In my past life we met the same way and you ended up b
VINCENT My senses were fully alert as I hunted for the bastard who had attached such an annoying letter to the gate of my pack house. He seemed to be someone who knew a lot about my past; a past I've struggled to move on from. Whoever was the culprit, was trying to use my past against me. The thought of it made me furious. His scent continued to linger in the air, I could tell that he was still within my territory and was probably running away as fast as he could. I increased my pace and soon, I noticed a young man who was running towards the border of my territory. His scent matched the scent I'd been tracking all along. Like hell was I going to let him escape. Catching him off guard, I attacked him and pushed him to the ground. He tried to fight me off, but his strength was no match for mine. "Who are you? What do you know about me?" I demanded, wrapping my fingers around his throat. He cursed loudly as he struggled to get my fingers off his throat. I refused to budge. "Answer me!
