Chapter Six: Marking her

Chapter Six: Marking her

Laila Pov

“Get up.” Those were the first words I heard, it wasn’t Atlas comforting’s tone instead it was the harsh octave of the woman that hated me, Ayesha. My eyes peered opened and surveyed around, it was still dark from the window.

“Don’t make me repeat myself shiro, get up. It is time. I frowned as I rubbed my eyes but made no effort to stand up from the bed. It was still dark why was she disturbing me this early? Had her perso- the rest of my words drowned away in the cold water that poured on my body.

“The hell-“ I pranced out of bed, wet and very much cold.

“Your initiation starts in the next ten minutes, we have to go.” Ayesha said instead of apologizing. Initiation? What was she talking about? She read the confusion on my face and sighed placing her hands on her hips.

“Met me at the front, don’t let me come back here for you.” She said and walked out. I brushed the sticky hair away from my face, I changed out of the wet clothes, luckily Atlas had brought some clothes yesterday. I wore the joggers and slipped the hoodie over my head. I packed my damp hair in a high pony tail and stepped outside, I found Ayesha at the base of the stairs close to the door.

“You made the right choice.” She led me outside where the cold air whipped past my unprotected part of my skin. The place was empty except for the fire in the distance, she continued up the road while I fumbled to not fall over.

“What is this initiation for?” I asked.

“You are joining the pack, we could just brush it aside and let you in automatically but we need to show you how important we treat everyone in this pack.”

“So I’ll have to respect traditions?” I asked,

“Yes, you’re the first outsider who is coming into this pack after ten years.”

“You guys don’t let a lot of stranger here then, so you’re telling me everyone here was born here.”

“Yes, except for me.” I smacked my lips together as I put everything in place. “Ares brought me here, he saved me from Morgana,”

“You are the outsider-”

“Were, I belong here now. You don't.” she corrected. “Until the initiation is completed.”

“Right,” we reached the fire just in time, I had expected the entire pack house to be present but from the number of people available it was just those that are important that were here.

I caught sight of Atlas who was with Ares, both brothers had there eyes on me as I was lead to the middle.

My eyes scanned around wondering who the rest of the men were, most of them had long hair that was packed back, only a few left theirs to flow. They were tall and wore boring brownish clothes, the fire however helped the golden reflection in their eyes.

“Elders and generals of the white moon pack, welcome to our first initiation ceremony in twelve full moons, the moon goodess has been kind to us and presented the rare white wolf in our hands fulfilling the prophecy of year's back.” Alpha Ares bold voice thundered in the night, it made me shiver. He paced around in his jeans and bare chest, he was closer now while he spoke, my eyes roamed his chest. There was a deep scar that ran through it and my mind boggled at what could've happened to him. The sleeve of tattoo around his right arms ignited another curious blaze, what was the story behind the ink?

As if knowing I was watching him, his olive green eyes found mine and his lips thinned in a line.

“Do you accept to be a part of this community, to abide and defend, till your death?” His words drummed in my ears and I stared back at him.

“I-” I didn't hear my words but then my eyes moved on to Atlas who encouraged me to say yes. He was the only one I could trust here for some reason even with Ares being his brother I wouldn't want to give him that faith.

“Yes.” I said slowly. Ares stared at me like I was dumb and I cleared my throat.

“Yes, I agree to be a part of the white stone pack.” I said firmer and bolder holding Ares gaze. Something in his eyes switched and his glare hardened and they diverted some place. At first I though it was my chest but then I realized it was my neck.

“Atlas, come.” Atlas obeyed his brother and together they came for me, I staggered but Ares had a warning gaze that sent the message across; DO NOT MOVE.

There warmth engulfed me as they blocked my view.

“Take off your shirt.” Ares ordered and I scowled.

“What? No! It's freaking cold!” I whisper yelled but he wasn't taking my answer.

“Lai, please, trust us. Take off the hoodie.” Atlas said softly. “Please.”

“You don't have to plead with her, she agreed to do this.” Ares hissed at his brother.

It was a great thing I wore a tank top underneath the hoodie, I tugged it over my head and sucked in my breath as the cold brushed against my bare skin.

How did the guys manage to remain calm under such harsh weather?

I held the hoodie by my side and stared at them, now what?

Atlas refused to keep his eyes on me while Ares shamelessly stared at my face and allowed his eyes drift down to my chest, it was obvious he was staring at my hardened nipples and the swell in my breast. For a moment my cheeks heated up and I tried to cover my self with my arms but Ares string hands stopped me.

“Dont move.” he said and he moved closer to me, “Atlas, get into position.” my brows furrowed as Atlas stops beside me and held my other arm.

“What are you guys going to do to me?”

“We will be marking you.” Atlas answered softly and my eyes widened.

“Marking me? Why? I don't understand-”

“You ask to many questions, Lai.” Ares's voice was soft yet intimidating. I turned to Atlas for answers but his eyes were focused on my neck.

“You have to trust us Lai, relax too.” his mouth closed in on me, my breath hitched in my throat and my head rolled back as both brothers sunk their canines into my neck.
