Chapter Five
Lyell's Point Of View
"Don't tell me she's your mate," mum said as soon as I entered my room.
"Oh, you noticed?"
She tuts, "I'm not joking here, Akira. If she is your mate, you know that it's a bad idea, right?"
I took off my shirt and faced her. "Why?"
She looks around cautiously, "she's wolfless. A wolfless wolf can't do any good to you or the pack. She'll only be a burden."
"Her? Burden?" I chuckled, "you don't know her. Even if she was, I'm ready to carry it."
"But is the pack ready to?"
"They'll have to be ready one way or the other. I am not leaving her."
"But-"
She tried arguing but I waved my palm in dismissal. "I don't have time for this."
She sighed tiredly. "Fine, but you have to go see the elders."
"Alright, alright," I replied tiredly as I proceeded to wear a new shirt.
"Um... Akira?"
"Yeah?" I replied without facing her.
"Why are you obsessed with Raven pack? Does it have anything to do with your childhood?" She asked hesitantly.
"You promised not to ask me such questions."
"I...I know but I...I know I'm not your real mother but it still hurts being in the dark. I see you as a son but you don't feel the same way."
I looked over my shoulder at her. "I'm not keeping you in the dark. I'm protecting you," I said and her face fell. "My childhood is filled with a lot of shitty memories, you see."
The only beautiful memory I had back then was her.
Alexa.
The girl I always sneaked out to see.
She had the most beautiful smile.
She mostly glares at me now.
I'd pay anything for her to smile at me.
"I'm sorry, I wouldn't ask again." She said as she stood up. "I'll... I'll go now." She smiled lightly at me before exiting.
I don't push her away on purpose. I'm doing so so she wouldn't be too heartbroken when I leave.
I buttoned up my shirt and exited the room to see the elders. Two guards were waiting at the front of the elders' council.
"Alpha," they chorused as they bowed in respect. I nodded at them and the door was opened for me. With my chin held high, I walked into the room and cake face-to-face with the three pack elders - Avril, Wolfram, and Dune. They were all seated by a gold table on a high platform.
"Alpha Akira." Avril acknowledged my presence.
"Welcome back, Alpha."
"Thank you, Wolfram."
"This is the fifth time you're visiting Raven Pack without permission." Dune snapped.
"I don't remember why it's a must for me to report all of my moves to you."
"Because you're the alpha! You can't leave your pack unattended to and chase personal quests!" Avril berated.
"Unattended? I left my beta in charge."
"William can't protect the pack! He's just a beta." Wolfram said.
"At least tell us why you've been visiting the place. You know we don't want to provoke the vampires. We've been hidden from their reach for a long time. Do you want them to find us and invade?" Dune nagged.
"They can't-"
"Enough of the talks! You have to be punished for this. We've let you off the hook a lot of times." Avril said.
"What are you going to do? Dethrone me?"
"If you do this one last time, we'll have to result to that," Wolfram said and I couldn't help but laugh.
"What is funny, Akira?" Dune thundered.
"Oh, Wolfram, you know you can't do that," I said as a matter of fact. "Dethrone me?" I smirked. I jumped high and landed on the table. They all flinched in fear as I landed in front of them.
"We both know this pack is doomed for the moment I leave," I said to Wolfram, staring at him dead in the eyes.
"Or am I wrong, Avril?" I turned to Avril who had horror in her eyes.
"N...no," she replied and I grinned.
"I'll accept whatever punishment you give me. Fifty whips? A hundred?"
Wolfram shook his head. "Just fifty."
I shrugged, "Fine by me." I adjusted his collar and patted his shoulder. I jumped down and landed stealthily.
"I believe I can go now."
Without waiting for their response, I walked out of the room. I proceeded to the torture room to receive my punishment.
"Alpha," the punisher bowed in respect as I got inside.
"Let's make this quick," I told him as I took off my shirt. I laid my chest down on the plank and my hands were chained. He raised his whip and it met my back with full force.
If anything, it tickles.
Within twenty minutes, fifty whips were over with.
"I'm sorry, Alpha,"
"You were just doing your job. No need to be sorry," I told him. I wore my shirt and proceeded back to my room. On my way, I sighted a sneaky figure. I sniffed the air and realized it was Alexa. What is she doing?
I approached her quietly. She had a back to me as she peeked at something by the tree. I got behind her and peeked at what she was peeking at.
"Where is he?" She suddenly said.
"Who?" I asked and she turned to me in fear.
"What the...what are you doing here?" She shrieked, pushing me away from her.
"I should be asking you that question. You're the one acting suspicious." I told her. She cleared her throat and scooted back.
"Nothing. I'll be going now." She said and turned to leave but I pulled her back.
"Don't touch me." She said furiously, snapping her hands off mine.
"Does my touch irritate you that much?"
"It does more than you think."
I hummed amusingly and gazed upon her body. "you've changed your dress." I noticed.
"Should I thank you for noticing?"
"Have you eaten? If you haven't, let me take you to eat."
"No, thank you, I'm fine. I'm not hungry at all."
Right on cue, her stomach rumbled. Her face grew red and I tried so much to keep a straight face.
"Th..that...that was thunder."
"Ah," I let out a laugh. "I see."
"Seriously!" She yelled.
"Okay okay, you don't need to get so embarrassed."
"I'm not embarrassed. Why would I be embarrassed? I'm not at all."
"Alright, alright."
She eyed me angrily and stumped off. I followed behind her with my hands behind my back.
"Wait up!" I yelled after her.
She is such a handful.
Chapter SixAlexa's Point Of View"Where is your alpha being punished?" I asked Riaz as we made our way outside. "He's in the underground torture room." His face lit up. "Do you want me to take you there?" I scrunched up my nose in displeasure. "No." I only asked so I could avoid treading wherever he is. "Why?" He asked and I shrugged. "Alpha brought you here from Raven Pack. That means you must be very important to him." I scoffed. "Not really." "Seriously. I've never seen him with any woman since I met him. He's never warm towards anyone. Not even his mother." I hummed uninterestedly. "You've not eaten anything since you arrived," Riaz said and I shook my head. "I'm fine. I'm not hungry. You can leave me here." "But can you find your way? The palace is very vast." I patted his shoulder. "Don't worry, I'm fine," I told him smilingly and he blushed. "O.. okay." He waved me goodbye and jogged off. The moment he was out of sight, I took the opposite direction out. While th
Chapter Six Alexa's Point Of ViewWithout thinking twice, I turned in the opposite direction and started running for my life. The vampire was still holding onto the hem of my sleeve. "Why are you running?" He yelled after me but I didn't reply. I looked back to check if Master Raga was behind us and he actually was. I let out a yelp and increased my speed. The vampire must have noticed Raga so he left my sleeve and held my hand. "I have no choice but to do this right now." He told me as his grip on my hand tightened. "Bare with me," What other choice do I have? I nodded at him and faster than I could blink, he pulled me into his arms and took off with me at full speed. The wind blew harshly over my face and I held onto him tighter as his speed increased. It got to a point I couldn't see what was before me. It amused me how he could figure out where to turn to and pass. I could only hold onto him, close my eyes, and trust that he would take us to safety. Sometime later, I felt th

I felt his breath against my head, which told me he was bent to my height. I felt his finger under my chin and he tilted my head up with it. My eyes met his deadly gaze and I was tempted to let my head back down. "I...I found her," "But...?" He drawled, raising his brow. "She...I couldn't get to her. She was with someone. A man. I suspect he was the same man that took her away." "How did he look like?" "I couldn't see his face. He took off with Alexa the moment she sighted me. I chased them but..." I gulped as his face hardened. "I...I couldn't keep up," I concluded, lowering my gaze. "You are the strongest and fastest warrior in the pack, yet you couldn't keep up with a mere wolf?" "He...he wasn't a mere wolf. He is different. He was super fast. Unimaginably fast. I've never seen a wolf that
Chapter Nine Alexa's Point Of ViewThe vampire has been out for two days now. When we arrived two days ago, he ordered the maids to prepare dinner for me and he disappeared after that, promising to be back in three days. I've not been seeing his repulsing face for two days. Thank the moon goddess for that. He didn't leave me without making sure he kept all eyes on me. By all eyes, I meant Xena's eyes. He claimed she was here to protect me but I knew better. I don't think he knows I don't like this chic. Or he knows but he just finds joy in annoying me. I paused in my tracks and cast a glare at "my bodyguard"."What?" She questioned, returning my glare. "Don't you get tired of following me everywhere? I'm just going to take a walk," "Believe me, I detest this as much or probably more than you do." "Then.." "But alpha personally begged me to watch you." She smirked, probably feeling smug because her alpha 'begged' her. "Even if he didn't, I would have still kept a close eye on you
Chapter Ten Alexa's Point Of ViewJust then, something clicked in my head. Alexandra. He called me by my full name. Something I've never told him. "How did you know that?" I questioned, pushing my face towards his. He raised his brow in confusion. "You called me by my full name," I told him. "I've never told you my full name. There's no way you could have known that without anyone telling you," His expression was blank. He leaned away from my face and tucked his palms in his pockets. "There are many things about you that I know that even you don't," He said simply, confusing me the more. "What do you mean?" "You are my mate," he stated. "do you expect me not to know anything about my mate?" I frowned. "Well, I know nothing about you," I said, folding my arms, and his deep chuckle echoed in the room. "Because you chose not to," he said, maintaining eye contact. "I'm here, open like a book to you. Why don't you read me, huh?" He perused. Though it was hard, I diverted my gaz
Chapter ElevenAlexa's Point Of View"Clear the area. Ace." "Yes, alpha," "Make sure a proper funeral is made for this man," Akira ordered and Ace bowed. Looking away from Ace, he turned to little Isabella who was still weeping, clutching tightly to her father's hand. He bent to her height and took her small hands in his. "Isabella," he called softly. "Do you want to go home with me?" Issa sniffled, "the palace?" She asked, her voice trembling. Akira nodded, reaching to carry her. "Before your daddy left, he told me to take good care of you while he was away. Allow me to fulfill my promise." Isabella turned to me with tear-filled eyes. Her eyes were filled with uncertainty. "Your alpha is a good person, Issa." I can't believe I'm saying this. "he'll take good care of you." I assured her. She turned back to Akira and shifted timidly towards him. Akira opened his arms, inviting her to embrace him. Reluctantly, Isabella went into his arms and Akira picked her up. In a second, she
Chapter Twelve Akira's Point Of View"This point, this point, and here," Ace explained as he pointed to the coordinates on the country map. "Those areas reported at least seven similar cases to ours. First, they thought it was a wild animal." "After seeing two fang bites at the side of their necks?" Ace scoffed in disbelief. "They are not to be blamed, Ace. These guys are being fed by the vamps. They have always believed the vampires to be their savior," Riaz said. "Or rather, had no other choice but to believe." Ace chipped in. "I mean...these creatures know our weakness but we don't know theirs." Riaz turned to me. "You should know their weakness, right? I mean..." He lowered his voice. "you have a part of them in you," Yeah, these two know about what I really am. Including my mother. The pack members don't know. They just know I have more power than a regular werewolf and using this power, I protected them from predator packs. This made them not wary of my power but rather ac
Alexa's Point Of View"Where has your alpha gone to?" I asked a maid I ran into. After Akira and I parted, I haven't seen him all evening. My thought was that he was with Isabella so I am on the way to her room. "I don't know, my lady but my guess is that he has gone on a mission," I tilted my head sideways, "mission?" "Yes, my lady." She replied and bowed curtly before leaving. Mission? That means he's out of the pack, right? I turned back, ready to leave but then I remember Isabella. Is she still asleep? I turned in the direction of her room and went there. I knocked on the door gently but I got no reply. She must still be sleeping. Careful enough not to make a sound, I pushed the door open, only to find Isabella sobbing, her legs curled up. "Isabella," I called softly as I entered fully and shut the door. I went to her and made her raise her head. Her eyes were bloodshot and her face was drenched in tears. "Isabella..." I pulled her to my chest and hugged her warmly. She wrap
