Chapter 60

ALEXIS' POV

I sit on my desk, trying my best to concentrate and have my assignment done. But as always, my thoughts are all over the place and as a result, I growl lowly in frustration and bury my head under my books on the table. I wish I never had to deal with the dramas going on in my life right now.

The sound of stone hitting against my closed windows jerks my brain back to reality and I immediately raise my head and stare at the direction of the window, wondering what could be the source of the noise. Again, another stone hits the window and a small pebble rolls inside my room. As I stare at the pebble lying innocently by my feet, I clench my fist in a tight ball. I am sure it is the neighboring kids that are the culprits. I have warned them a countless number of times to stop stoning my window and for a while, they went silent and I was grateful they had resigned from their evil works. But now again?

I pick the pebble and hurry to the window, prepared to send the pebble back to
