Sean’s POV
“I have to go and take care of something. Will you be okay?”
Ivy smiled and waved her hand dismissively. “Yes, I’m fine. You’ve been here since last night. Go take a rest. I’ll be okay.”
Take a rest? Not before I deal with the witches behind this.
“I’ll be back as soon as I can,” I told her. “If you need anything, call me, and I’ll get here as quickly as I can.”
“Or I could just ask the nurses,” she replied.
“Anything they can’t take care of,” I clarified.
She chuckled. “I know. Get out of here.”
I gave her a tender kiss on the forehead and pulled away. I didn’t want to leave her alone, but I had to deal with Samantha and Lana. Ivy waved goodbye as I walked out the door.
I left the hospital in my car and went straight to the school. My first stop was the dean’s office, where
Narrator’s POVYears after gradually assuming most leadership responsibilities from his father, the day had finally come for Sean to be officially confirmed as Alpha. While he had been managing the pack's daily affairs, his father remained the official Alpha with ultimate authority in the council. After the ceremony, Sean and Ivy would assume their roles as Alpha and Luna with full governing power.Kit was five-years old when the Alpha Inheritance Ceremony took place. The ceremony was being broadcast live, with werewolves from allied packs and human dignitaries in attendance. The Blu Pack's influence extended far beyond supernatural circles—the Harris family's business empire and political connections meant even human leaders and CEOs filled the audience. In the preparation suite, Ivy sat perfectly still while the makeup artist applied the finishing touches. The door swung open, and in the mirror's reflection, Ivy saw a familiar face that made her gasp."Zoe!" she exclaimed, instantly
Sean’s POVThe soft morning light filtered through the curtains as I watched Ivy sleep, her chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm. Even exhausted from our wild rounds of sex last night, she looked peaceful, with her dark hair fanned across the pillow, her lips slightly parted. Damn, I'd missed this. Missed her.Dax stirred in my chest, equally reluctant to leave her warmth. These business trips were hell on both of us. No matter how many times I told myself it was temporary, that it was just until I dealt with the pending issues, every mile between us felt like a physical ache.So whenever I finally got home, we spent hours making up for lost time. And yet, the hunger I had for her never abated. It was never ending, gnawing at me even when I was close to her because I knew I couldn’t be around as long as I wanted.I pressed my lips to her forehead, catching the faint scent of vanilla and sex in her hair. She murmured something unintelligible but didn't wake. Good, I wanted her t
Ivy’s POVFour Years LaterWhen I opened my eyes groggy with sleep, I found myself staring right into Sean's. I blinked, confused and disoriented. He wasn't supposed to be here. Was I dreaming?"Happy birthday, babe," he told me in a low voice.I blinked again. No, it was not a dream. He was really here with me. Before I could fully process what was happening, he leaned down and kissed me. When he pulled back, I finally strung my thoughts together."What...how...last night you said you couldn't make it.""It's your birthday,” he said. “How could I miss it?"I smiled. Ever since he became Alpha about a year ago, he'd become increasingly busy. He was in charge of both the family business and pack affairs, all of which demanded endless time and attention.Yesterday, he'd been on a business trip and told me he wouldn't make it back in time to celebrate my birthday together. It had dampened my spirits, but what could I do?When he took the Alpha position, I knew he'd be busy, I just hadn't
Ivy’s POVOne Year Later"Hey, are you okay?" Molly, one of my partners in our group assignment, asked.I shook my head. "I feel a bit off.""If you don't feel well, you can go home and rest,” she told me. “I'll send you the notes from today's meeting.""Really? Thanks. Tell the others I'll make up for my part next time.""No worries," she said.I grabbed my bag and walked out of the room. I'd been feeling nauseous since that morning, but I'd thought it would pass. Leaving the building, I got into my car. I still had a few classes that day, but I didn't feel like attending. Maybe I'd just get some pills at a nearby store and go sleep it off.It was during the drive to the store that the thought occurred to me: My period was late by a few days. I hadn't thought much about it before, but now... A wave of anxiety washed over me. Could I really be pregnant?I glanced at my phone, wondering whether to tell Sean. I shook my head. I could be wrong. I'd been swamped with schoolwork lately and
Sean's POVMy eyes didn't pull away from Ivy until she disappeared from my sight. A smile formed on my lips. It was finally happening. The day I'd been planning had arrived, and it was all worth it.I'd wanted to make this day as special for her as I could, and seeing the look in her eyes earlier, I think I'd done a good job.‘You have,’ Dax told me in a rare show of agreement.“Do you think she'll like the dress?” I asked him.‘She'll love it,’ he said with total conviction."You've really outdone yourself," Tan said, walking to my side."Yeah, you've definitely raised the bar for proposals,” Laphel commented. “How will the rest of us keep up?""She's worth it,” I said proudly."Did you hear that?” Laphel asked Tan, nudging him. “He's totally love-struck.”He wasn't wrong. For months, I'd been thinking about how to give Ivy the best proposal ever. I wanted to show how special she was to me, how much she meant to me. I wanted to make her as happy as she made me."Here she is," Tan whi
Ivy’s POVI flipped the card over and found more written on the other side. The story continued:The prince lived a carefree and reckless life, without a care in the world. He was like a lone kite, trying to chart his own way while the strong wind tried to control him. One day, the prince met a beautiful princess. She was so lovely he could not look away. Her sweet smile and soft voice charmed him and warmed his heart, which had been unfeeling for many years. He wanted to stay close to the princess, and he followed her everywhere. But she was not like him. He hurt her with his wild spirit, betraying her trust time and again. She wanted to leave him behind, but he could not imagine a life without her. Ever since she showed up, his life had changed. Where it had been plain, it was filled with color. Where it had been bland, it was filled with excitement. Where it had been frozen, it was filled with warmth. He did everything to keep her by his side. Eventually, he could make her smile th
Ivy’s POVI was still half asleep when something poked my arm. Sean's finger, I guessed."Wakey wakey," his deep voice whispered in my ear.I grumbled and turned away from him, nestling deeper into the comforter. I didn't want to wake up yet."You're going to miss out on breakfast," he warned."I don't want it." Breakfast? We'd fallen asleep at three a.m. Who was up early enough for breakfast?"Come on," Sean urged."Too early.""It's already 10 a.m.,” he informed me."Still early."I thought he’d leave me alone. Instead, he pulled the comforter away.He reached for my hand and tugged. "Come on, our vacation is coming to an end. You don't want to waste it in bed, do you?""Then don't end it," I suggested."We can't stay here forever.""Sadly.”"Do you want to take a shower first? I'll start it for you,” he offered."No, I…”He left before I could finish.Groaning, I got up and dragged myself to the bathroom, yawning."There you are," he said, smiling brightly."When did you wake up?"
Ivy’s POV“Ivy and I are going on a trip for a few days,” Sean announced the next morning as the four of us sat down for breakfast.I glanced at him, brows raised. “We are?” That was news to me.He winked at me. “Yep.”Okayyy… I suppose there are worse things than an impromptu trip.“Really?” my mother chimed in. “That’s great. Where are you going?”I wiggled my brow at Sean. Yeah, where were we going?Sean shrugged. “Here and there,” he said mysteriously. “I want to show Ivy some good spots. Since the semester is done, I want us to go and relax for a few days.”He looked at his father expectantly.Ken waved a hand. “Of course, do what you want. You’ve worked hard enough these past few months, we’ll manage without you for a few days.”“Thanks,” Sean said.“Have a wonderful time,” Mom added. “Sean, make sure she doesn’t stay cooped up indoors.”I groaned inwardly. “Mom, we’re going on vacation. I’m not that lame.”She smiled. “I don’t think you’re lame, dear. I just… I worry you’ll mis
Ivy’s POVDays turned into weeks, and weeks into months of bliss. Sean and I lived together, went to school together, and hung out together. It was refreshing to love him openly without worrying about others’ opinions. The only downside was Sean’s hectic schedule—between his pack duties and school, we barely had free time to spend together besides evenings and weekends. His father pushed him hard, but Sean handled it effortlessly. Being Alpha meant being responsible for the entire pack, and he’d already started attending council meetings while juggling studies. Despite it all, he thrived, doing better than most people would have in his situation.Despite being super busy, he never neglected me. He still walked me to classes and waited outside when he could. His attentiveness and romantic gestures made me fall deeper for him every day. Finally, it was time for his graduation. The house buzzed with a celebratory mood. Now, Sean could focus fully on the pack. That morning, I helped him i
