Chapter 20

From Alessia's POV

I had not slept the entire night. I didn't even lay down. I had stayed by the window staring at the moon. The last few nights, I felt it calling to me. If you asked me to explain it, I would have no words. It was like I was being beckoned by the moon as if I could climb out of the window and walk on its surface. I felt a strong connection, like the moon was telling me something important.

As dawn approached, I grew weary of the pending conversation. After showering and getting dressed, I headed down to Daunte's office; after being introduced to Alpha Hector, Luna Maliyla, and their daughter, we headed to the kitchen.

I could feel the tension between Daunte and me as we ate. I had a strong feeling he wanted to talk about what I had told Dr. Sara, and although I wasn't ready, I knew I could no longer prevent the inevitable.

After taking my last bite, I finally asked the question that had been lingering over us. "What did you want to talk about?"
