When I woke again, I found myself lying in the villa's bed.

Agonized howls came from the living room. I struggled out of bed and cracked the door open to see Damon standing in the center of the living room, with those rogue wolves bound by silver chains at his feet.

Damon held a silver knife in his hand, his voice cold as ice. "Which hand did you use to touch her?"

The rogue wolf trembled all over, too terrified to speak.

Damon sneered coldly. "Then it must have been both hands."

Without hesitation, he brought the knife down, the blade viciously piercing through the rogue wolf's palm. In werewolf tradition, severing wolf claws was a punishment second only to death, meaning permanent loss of hunting ability.

The werewolf let out a scream, blood instantly staining the floor red.

The remaining wolves were scared out of their wits, frantically shouting, "It was the left hand! It was the right hand!"

But Damon showed no mercy. One knife stroke per wolf, he disabled their hands, then threw them into the fire for punishment.

The guard team members stood to the side, watching him with complex expressions. "Alpha, is this really necessary? Wasn't this originally Lydia's plan that you agreed to?"

"Yeah, Lydia deliberately used Ashen Peaks Pack's distress signal to lure you away, giving you a reasonable excuse to leave. Then we found excuses to leave too, followed by sending a group of low-ranking wolves to assault Sage Rivers while she was alone in the herb area. There was no one in the hunting grounds then—she could cry to heaven and earth and no one would answer. If Garrett Rivers' most beloved sister was violated by a group of low-ranking wolves, he'd be devastated when he found out. Using this as leverage, he'd definitely never compete with you for Alpha King again, and it would severely punish Sage Rivers too. Why did you suddenly change your mind and rush back desperately, nearly beating these wolves to death? You haven't been this bloodthirsty in years. It's insane."

Hearing this, I felt like my whole body couldn't support itself, nearly collapsing.

I never imagined that even those low-ranking wolves were part of their plan.

No wonder Lydia had whispered with the guard team members, and then the members whispered with Damon...

Damon said nothing, just watched coldly as those wolves were dragged away.

The group of men looked at each other, their faces becoming even uglier.

Finally, someone couldn't help asking, "Alpha, you didn't actually fall for Sage Rivers, did you? If you forgot, let me remind you—she's your mortal enemy's sister! You and Garrett Rivers have been fighting for how many years now. If you actually fell for his sister, you'd be..."

Damon's expression instantly turned ugly. He violently kicked over the coffee table, his voice filled with suppressed fury.

"I don't like her! If I liked Garrett Rivers' sister, I'd cut off my head and let him use it as a football! Is that enough? Get out, all of you get out! Don't fucking bother me for the next few days!"

After driving everyone away, Damon poured himself a glass of whiskey and stood by the floor-to-ceiling window.

After a few drinks, his expression looked particularly gloomy.

He poured another glass and drank it in one gulp, feeling the cold alcohol burn down his throat into his stomach.

His mind was in chaos, constantly seeing images of Sage Rivers being pressed down by those disgusting men. Her despair, her pain—like a knife stabbing straight into his heart.

He didn't understand his emotions toward Sage Rivers. Initially approaching her was clearly just to get revenge on Garrett Rivers and find leverage to threaten him.

But why did seeing her treated that way make him want to kill someone in a murderous rage?

She shouldn't be like that.

Every time she lay beneath him, so good and soft, her eyes full of love, like a gentle little cat.

But that day, her eyes held only fear and despair.

He didn't dare think about it further, just felt suffocated inside.

Suddenly remembering that Sage Rivers didn't like the smell of alcohol, he frowned and poured the expensive liquor down the drain.

He turned toward the bedroom, his footsteps very light, afraid of waking her.

I heard his footsteps and quickly closed my eyes, holding back tears and pretending to sleep.

My heart was beating fast, my fingers gripping the blanket corner tightly, afraid he'd discover I was faking sleep.

Damon stood by the bed, looked down at me for a while, gently stroked my head, then turned and left the room.

For the next several days, Damon never went to the Pack House office again, practically revolving around me every day.

He made the entire northern territory's night sky bloom with blue fireworks that I loved most as a declaration of love, spent 100 million dollars to buy the most expensive healing stone in history to make into a ring, filled the entire villa with my favorite flowers.

He even spent a million dollars to hire the head chef from a French Michelin restaurant to cook just for me.

I looked at the table piled high with gifts, but felt no joy in my heart.

I knew he was trying to make me happy, but my heart had already grown cold as ice.

No one mentioned what happened that day, but everyone knew I wasn't happy.

I smiled less and less, my eyes becoming more and more numb.

Damon finally couldn't stand it anymore. After dinner one evening, he held me in his arms, his voice low and hoarse. "Baby, it's my fault. I didn't protect you properly. Forget about that attack and our lost child, okay? I'll do anything you want."

I looked up at his deep eyes and asked softly, "Anything?"

Damon nodded. "Anything."

I was silent for a while, then finally spoke. "I want to know your phone password."

After the mating ceremony ended, guests gradually left, leaving only a few people in the hall.Damon still slumped on the ground, the bandages around his chest soaked through with fresh blood, but he seemed to feel no pain, staring ahead with empty eyes. His Gamma warriors stood nearby, exchanging worried glances. They had never seen their Alpha so broken.I had changed out of my wedding dress into a simple white dress and walked over to Damon.I held a medical kit in my hands and gently placed it in front of him."Your blood has soaked through your clothes. Take care of it yourself." My voice was calm but carried a hint of distance.Damon looked up slowly, his eyes bloodshot and full of pain. "Sage, do you really... not love me anymore?"I didn't speak, just looked down at him, my eyes showing no wavering."Answer me!" Damon's voice cracked. "Just once, answer me honestly!""I already did," I replied coldly. "In that text message I sent you. I don't love you anymore."Damon's hands tr

The entire hall fell silent. I looked up, my eyes carrying complex emotions—surprise, anger, and something that might have been pity."Damon Blackwood, why did you come?"My voice was so cold, so different from how I used to say his name with warmth and love.Damon's voice carried pleading. "Sage, I know I was wrong. I shouldn't have used you or hurt you. But I... I really fell in love with you. Give me one chance, please? I'll spend the rest of my life making it up to you, loving you."I stood up from my chair, my wedding dress rustling. Several Stormfang Pack members stepped closer, ready to intervene."One chance?" I repeated, my voice rising. "One chance? I gave you five years of chances, Damon!""That's different—""No, it's not!" I cut him off. "Every day I loved you was a chance. Every time I trusted you was a chance. Every time I believed your lies was a chance!"My eyes turned cold, my voice carrying no warmth. "Damon Blackwood, I don't love you anymore. That text message was

His men nodded, their eyes carrying helplessness and growing concern."Alpha, you've been unconscious for two weeks," one of them said carefully. "The healer said your wolf was severely damaged. We thought you might never wake up."Damon's heart felt like it was being crushed, the pain almost suffocating him.His chest was wrapped in thick bandages, faintly seeping blood, but he seemed to feel no pain as he threw off the covers to get out of bed."No, they can't bond. I have to stop this.""Sage is mine! Sage is mine!"The room fell silent. His men had never heard their Alpha sound so broken, so desperate."Damon! Are you insane?!" His Beta Marcus stepped forward, grabbing his shoulders. "Your wounds haven't healed! Garrett Rivers was really fucking brutal, poisoning you with wolf's bane. You're still rushing over there—do you have a death wish?!""Let go of me!" Damon shoved Marcus away with surprising strength. "I don't care about the wounds! I don't care about dying!"His voice crac

The Beta was momentarily stunned by the casual tone, but seeing Garrett's ruthless expression in the rearview mirror, he understood the full meaning."Garrett, what are you doing?" I asked, noticing the change in his demeanor."Protecting you," he said simply. "Like I should have done years ago."As soon as the words fell, several Beta bodyguards emerged from nearby alleys. They moved with military precision, surrounding Damon before he could react."What the hell—" Damon spun around, finally realizing the trap."Damon Blackwood," Marcus announced formally. "By order of Alpha Garrett Rivers, you're under arrest for assault, kidnapping, and attempted murder of pack royalty.""This is Stormfang territory," another guard added. "You have no authority here."They injected Damon with wolf's bane before he could shift or fight back. The drug hit his system immediately, making him stagger."No!" Damon struggled weakly as they bound him with silver chains. "Sage! Tell them to stop! You know I

"Sage! Sage!"Damon's voice echoed through the streets, raw and desperate. His feet pounded against the pavement as he chased our car, blood seeping through his shirt from his unhealed wounds."Stop the car!" he screamed. "Please! Just stop!"His men followed behind him, trying to catch up to their Alpha who had lost all sense of dignity and pride. In the car, Garrett watched Damon's crazed figure in the rearview mirror, his jaw tightening with each passing second.I sat rigidly in the passenger seat, my hands clenched in my lap. Despite everything, seeing Damon like this stirred something uncomfortable in my chest."He's going to collapse," I said quietly, watching him stumble but keep running."Good," Garrett replied coldly. "Let him."But I could see the concern in Garrett's eyes as he glanced at me. He pulled the car over suddenly, making my heart jump."Why are we stopping?" I asked, panic creeping into my voice.Garrett turned to face me fully, his expression serious. "Sage, can

But I looked up at him with steady eyes and said word by word, "It's not fake, Damon Blackwood. It's real."My voice was calm, final. "Damon Blackwood, I fell in love with my brother—yes, your most hated mortal enemy. Our bonding application has been approved by the Alpha Council. Now he can legally mark me, become my official mate, and be with me for life. Are you satisfied?"The words hit him like physical blows. His knees buckled, and only his grip on a nearby wall kept him upright."You're lying," he gasped. "You love me. I know you love me.""I did love you," I said quietly. "Once. Before I learned what you really were.""Sage, please—""Don't," I cut him off. "Just don't."With that, I took Garrett's hand, our fingers intertwining naturally, and we turned to leave. The sight of our joined hands sent a bolt of pure agony through Damon's chest.Witnessing me and Garrett with our fingers intertwined, Damon's eyes were full of disbelief."This isn't happening," he muttered to himself
