Vivian’s POV

I couldn't believe how quickly everything was happening. Just a few days after our talk, Aria had already set me up with this man named Toby Fletcher. According to her, he used to deal potions for witches before the Alpha made black magic illegal.

"He's trustworthy," Aria assured me as we walked through the garden. "I've known him for years. He'll get you exactly what you need."

"And you're sure this will work?" I asked, wringing my hands. Despite my hatred for Lyra, I still felt nervous about the whole thing.

Aria nodded confidently. "The potion will just knock her out. No blood, no mess. She'll be unconscious long enough for us to get her away from the estate. Then she'll be sold off somewhere far away where she can't bother you or the Alpha ever again."

I bit my lip. "And no one will trace it back to us?"

"That's why we're using Toby. He knows how to be discreet." She squeezed my arm. "Think about it, Vivian. Once she's gone, you'll have the Alpha all to yoursel

The news spread like fire through dry leaves. Within minutes, every pack member knew what had happened in the forest. Whispers filled the halls, and shocked faces turned to stare as the word reached Alpha Dominic's ears. "One of your sons has been hurt," the messenger said, his voice shaking. "Damon... his face... it's been deformed." Dominic's eyes turned cold as ice. He didn't ask questions. He didn't want to hear explanations. His mind was already made up. "Bring me the girl," he ordered. "Now." Two guards dragged Lyra from her room. She was still shaking from what had happened in the forest. Her hands were cut from the thorns, and dirt stained her clothes. But none of that mattered to Dominic. "You did this," he said, his voice deadly quiet. "You hurt my son." "I was defending myself," Lyra said, trying to keep her voice steady. "They tried to—" "Silence!" Dominic's roar echoed through the room. "I don't want to hear your lies. You've been nothing but trouble since y

Lyra sat curled on her bed, tears streaming down her face. The news had hit her like a physical blow. Kyle was banned from the packhouse completely. Until the duel was over, he couldn't see her, couldn't even come near the building. The guards had strict orders. "It's for everyone's safety," the messenger had explained, but Lyra barely heard him. All she could think about was how her last connection to choice had been severed. Kyle represented something—maybe not love, but possibility. The chance to have some say in what happened to her life. Now even that was gone. She pressed her face into her pillow, sobbing harder. Everything felt impossible. Two powerful men were going to fight to the death over her, and she had no voice in any of it. She was being passed between them like property, like some prize to be won. "This isn't fair," she whispered to the empty room. "None of this is fair." The thought of the upcoming fight made her sick. Kyle could die. Damon could die. And for wh

The great hall buzzed with tension as Kyle walked through the heavy doors. This time, he wasn't alone. Behind him came representatives from three different packs, along with two noble families. Their presence made everything official. This wasn't just Kyle making demands anymore—this was pack business.Alpha Dominic sat in his chair at the head of the room, his jaw tight as he watched the group enter. Damian stood beside him, while Damon leaned against the wall with his arms crossed. The air felt thick with unspoken threats.Kyle stepped forward, his chest puffed out with confidence. He knew having witnesses changed everything. The Alpha couldn't just dismiss him now."Alpha Dominic," Kyle said, his voice carrying across the room. "I've come to claim what's mine.""And what exactly do you think is yours?" Dominic replied, his voice low and dangerous.Kyle smiled. "My mate. Lyra. The one you've been keeping from me." He gestured to the men behind him. "I've brought witnesses because th

Lyra & Vivian POVVivian's face went pale, but her jaw remained set stubbornly."And if you're looking for a way to spiral," Damon continued, his voice dropping lower, "or get yourself killed, I won't stop you. But I also won't let you drag anyone else down with you."The kitchen fell silent. Even Ariel and Aria seemed shocked by the coldness in Damon's voice."Come on," Damon said to me. "Let's go."I followed him out of the kitchen, my heart still pounding from the confrontation. Behind us, I could hear Vivian's sharp intake of breath, like she'd been slapped. As we walked down the hallway, I couldn't shake the feeling that something had just changed. Something dangerous."Are you okay?" Damon asked quietly."I'm fine," I lied."No, you're not. I can see your hands shaking."I looked down and realized he was right. My hands were trembling, and I could still feel the power humming just beneath my skin."She's going to make this worse," I said. "Vivian. She's not going to let this go.

Lyra's POVTwo days had passed since I trained with Damon in the courtyard. Two days since he'd actually treated me like I mattered. I kept replaying that moment in my mind, the way he'd smiled at me, the way he'd said "us" like we were actually something together. But I couldn't let myself get too hopeful. Not yet.The estate was quieter today. Most of the pack members were busy with their own tasks, and there was a peaceful feeling in the air that I wasn't used to. I was in the kitchen, preparing a tray for Alpha Dominic when Damon walked in."Hey," he said, leaning against the doorframe. My heart did that annoying flutter thing again. "Hi.""What are you doing?""Getting lunch ready for your father," I said, arranging the food on the tray. "He asked for it to be brought to his study."Damon nodded and moved closer. I could smell his scent—pine and something warm that made my stomach do strange things."Lyra," he said softly. "About what we talked about during training. About giving
