"You were going to just use me?"

I looked up to see Keyla standing by the door, tears filled. I could tell that she was trying to fight back the urge to cry.

Hunter became distorted, he made his way towards her, trying to console her or something but she was deeply hurt. "It's not like that, Keyla. I was just trying to convince him to accept you so we can move on with the mate bond."

He tried touching her, but she removed her hands from his, letting the tears rolle down her eyes. For some reasons, it made me dad to see her cry and I almost ran to her, suddenly feeling the urge to wipe away her tears away.

But I controlled myself.

She glared at me and if looks could kill, I would've been six feets under the ground. "What did I ever do to you Chase?" She asked, her voice almost breaking. "You didn't want me as your mate and I didn't force you to accept me. Why would you do this to me?"
