After Carter finished making Riley one of his pack members, he walked into the training fields with a blank mask. Nathan, Ronan, and the others have been waiting for him for almost ten minutes. David is losing his shit as he feels beneath him to wait for a nobody like Carter.

"Here he comes. I thought he must have run away with fright" David sneered at his son.

Carter ignored his father and approached his uncle, who is looking at him intently.

"Where have you been? You left a few minutes earlier than all of us. Then what took you so long?" Nathan asked with a worried frown. Before Carter could reply, the strong feminine scent coming from his nephew answered all of his queries.

"You went to meet Riley? What is wrong with you? A couple of days ago you couldn't wait to get rid of her. But now, you couldn't wait to see her? Are you alright? I feel like you are losing focus on your goals" Nathan pointed out with displeasure.
