Ryker
I shifted uncomfortably in my seat as all eyes fell on me, wincing as a shard of wood dug into my ass. I guess Asher must have broken something when I hurled him into it earlier in an effort to prevent him from destroying my mate's living room.
I was damn glad she wasn't here now, but I also wasn't touching Jax's last statement with a ten-foot pole.
I cleared my throat and launched right into the heart of the matter, "I spent the last several hours scouring the forest between town and the training grounds, but I wasn't able to find where he disappeared to. What are we going to do about the dance?"
I knew bringing up the missing elder would get Jax to recenter his concentration, and the open-ended question would buy me time to come up with an excuse in case he circled back later.
Notwithstanding, I was also aware Ronnie and Mari put a lot of effort into the event. I already saw the decorations they put u
Veronica I met Mari in the hallway as I stumbled out of my room the next morning. Our circadian rhythms had synched throughout our time living together, so it wasn't an uncommon occurrence for us. Ryker had already gotten up by the time I had rolled out of bed, which was unusual to say the least. I knew there was a lot going on, but I was normally the first out of bed, bright and early every morning with Roxi's set schedule. Mari gave me a half-hearted greeting as we shambled towards the racket in the living room without bothering to make conversation along the way, neither one of us being fully awake yet. Be that as it may, I felt like my eyebrows may have reached my hairline with the shocking image presented before us as we both faltered in the entryway. Asher was passed out on the floor next to the couch while Roxi was having a blast, treating him as her personal pla
Veronica Both males looked at each other, mouths gaping and at a loss for words while Roxi happily babbled away in the background, unaware of the tension in the room thickening to a near palpable level. I had been concerned Ryker would try to leave me out of everything when I shadowed Mari last night, especially with my brother adding fuel to that particular fire, but I hadn't expected him to cut the she-wolves out of the loop altogether. As the moment dragged on without my former inquiry eliciting an audible response, I tacked on, "Why did you ask me to train any females who wanted to become warriors if you had no intention of letting them do that?" I found I enjoyed teaching others, and I did not regret agreeing to the responsibility. Yet, I was feeling disheartened and slightly hurt Ryker had led me on with false promises. Moreover, I knew there were a few females who would be crestfallen to know their
Hello wonderful people, I know I have not uploaded chapters recently. I am sorry!! There will definitely be new content uploaded later today. I have been hard at work behind the scenes. You may have noticed the new covers. I had a lot of help with them, and I think they turned out amazing! Let me know what you think! This thing is crazy. I have to write at least one hundred words to write an update this way, so this is me doing that. I did not want to leave you guys hanging. Side note, I have been outlining the next two books, and I am really excited for where the story is going! Keep being awesome :)
Ryker I decided to swing by the lodge to change clothes when I glanced down at the stains marring my once white shirt, after looking for something to distract me from my mate's luscious legs disappearing behind the closed door, that was. White really wasn't a good color to wear around a one-year-old, I would have to remember that in the future. I mind linked with Remus while I prowled through the trees in the general direction of my residence, though it hardly felt like home without my mate and daughter there. I could not help but worry the elders would attempt to replicate what had occurred 13 years ago, and I refused to leave my family without some sort of protection in my absence, Ronnie's wrath be damned if she ever found out. I intended to join the patrol groups with my newly unfettered time, but I needed to pick up the equipment for Mari first and foremost. My wolf's keen senses monitored my environs as I
Veronica “You need my help with two patients?” I inquired incredulously, gazing at Remus with my eyebrows tilted up. He raised both of his hands, gesturing towards the only other conscious male in the room. I looked up and noticed his features seemed familiar. Next, I was hit with a concentrated dose of his subtle fragrance of freshly churned dirt and earthy moss when he turned in my direction. “Seth.” I said surprised, noting his distinct lanky demeanor as he brushed aside the strands of his pale blonde hair while rotating to face me head-on. I hadn’t paid attention to my surroundings, my concentration zoned in on the patients, but I had worked with Seth on numerous occasions in the past. He wasn’t normally one to ask for help unless he truly needed it. In fact, I had learned most of what I knew from him. He was the healer in charge of running the clinic. “Hey, Ronnie,” he said as his face split into a
Veronica We spent a couple of hours, meandering around town and greeting all the guests, but we also used that time to covertly connect with our pack through mind link about what was coming. Ryker was worried about the elders being tipped off that we were aware of their plan, and I couldn’t say I blamed him after all the shit they had already thrown our way. It was different at first, getting used to being able to talk with the entire pack, in addition to my family, without ever opening my lips. I didn’t know that was something I was capable of until Ryker told me. It took some adjusting, but I found I reveled in the newfound assets I had acquired when Ryker and I had conclusively claimed each other a few nights ago, officially making me the luna.
Veronica Lightning sparked through my veins as I mutely dashed down the hall, Ryker’s husky snarls following after me as I went. I knew I didn’t have long to make it to the bedroom, so I hustled and had just made it through the door when I felt his powerful presence behind me. Using my wolf’s superior senses to my advantage, I ducked out of the way of his forward charge at the last moment and watched as he sailed into a heap on the bed. I couldn’t stop the giggles from escaping as he swept the dark hair from his frustrated face and asked in a disgruntled tone, “Why are we playing games, Ronnie? I want you now.” He said from where his long limbs were still sprawled over the violet duvet covering my full-size bed, emphasizing his last word with
Ryker I was dragging my ass the following morning, getting up and out the door before the birds had begun chirping for the day was a feat in and of itself for me. I had stayed up too late indulging in the delights my mate had to offer, not that I regretted a single second of my time spent in heaven between her shapely thighs. Never mind the tiny detail it was too damn early to be up anyway. I was not a morning person, and these crack of dawn patrols were speedily becoming the bane of my existence. I exited the house under the cover of darkness, making my way to the tree line nearby since I had opted to leave through the back door. I shifted into my wolf as I broke free of the thick undergrowth, pausing to let my senses range over this neck of the woods before I gave him free r
