Chapter 44

Jada POV

I was engrossed in the movie, munching on my popcorn, when my phone suddenly rang, breaking the silence. I lazily picked it up, not bothering to check the caller ID, and answered with a casual "Hello?"

But as soon as I heard the voice on the other end, I sat up straight, my attention piqued. "Meet me outside your home," Aidaan's voice commanded, his tone firm and serious.

I quickly got up from the sofa, my mind racing with questions. What did Aidaan want? Why did he sound so urgent? I hastily dressed in the nearest clothes I could find and made my way outside.

As I stepped out into the cool evening air, I saw Aidaan's car parked by the curb, the engine running. He was sitting in the driver's seat when I got there.

“Get in” he said as I opened the car door and went in.

After I had put on the seat belt he sped off.

As we drove further away from the city, the buildings became scarce and the streets grew darker. I couldn't help but feel a sense of unease as Aidaan's car navigated
